New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

Hahahaha that's a heating concept I've never seen before! Cheap and easy, I like it!

You seem to be an auto mechanic of sorts judging from the background?

Now you gotta design a top platen that directs the force around the heater so you can leave it on there and not have to take it on and off, or not, but that'd be cool!

That's so awesome to see that old beast of a press still going and now making rosin too! Especially the jack, it doesn't leak after all this time? They just don't make em how they used to. Or I guess I should say china doesn't make em now how others used to Mae em.

im not a mechanic but have two in the family lol.
had some problems 1st- one of the heaters startd meltn and smoking lol so im a heater down. 2nd- the bud pressd out the back of the paper so I gonna put the flowers in the middle next time.
so I need a better heat source is my problem.
anyideas??

your right! I gota find a way too heat the plates without taking off or put'n on befor or after press'n. ive been tryn to figure this one out for weeks already and give up and bought the magnet heaters lol

I know this is a bit of a dipshit answers, but go back like 20 or 30 pages and start reading. There's a lot of different ways to skin this cat. I'm too lazy to write a 2 page synopsis of everything that has been shared here by everyone.

I have a t shirt press. I like the rosin technique. No chemicals used. Good idea.

Lmfao that's a good bumper sticker of Tshirt slogan. Ahhh man it'd be great to here a news anchor say that in response to all the bho epidemic stories they do. We should get government funding for ending an "epidemic." I've seriously seen that in mainstream news, epidemic, like it's the cdc and millions have died.

Still not up to the production level to match quality however. We need process like 50 pounds of raw trim a day, with one machine, before the last cls will be scrapped for brewery equipment. The current outrageous over use of paper and polyester needs to change as well. I'm starting to think cls is more sustainable. If we could grow massive hemp farms for paper and filters that'd be great but most of what we get here comes from Canada and china.

I'm still thinking for mass scale, some other technology or something radically different will be needed. Or we just gotta engineer something automated in the 10k-20k$ ball park.

my extract these days is ridiculously runny and is a whitish sort of foam. low temp long time presses with material that was slowly dried out, but not let to really dry out very well at all. super tasty. if you use a tool to collect it it isnt so liquidy and white gooey, but as its such a liquidy extract i am gently scraping it up with a razor to get the brunt of it, then tool up the thin film remains.

Pic? Saw some white hash in Amsterdam once.
Wonder if it was Rosin?
Had a crazy texture, almost looked like a piece of white plastic.
But melted like oil? Never seen it before.

2 engineers + asme welder + lots of light dep R&D = trying my hardest to get you a press by novemeber.

You will not be forgotten, production model #1 is going express mail to your doorstep. This shit is crazy and has been a huge journey of self education, there's a lot more then just a devil in the details.

Heady blunts is correct. Smaller scale r&d doesn't work so well cause once you upscale, the physics change, sucks a lot when a qp of kief explodes everywhere.

Slow and easy - rainbows, puppy dogs, kittens, fresh nugs and cookies!

First off, love you people, what an amazing community. You know who you are

Second, this is my First post,, totally not what I planned for a first post, been reading for hours, literally from page 1. Havent gotten to the end, had to stop and finish activating account so I could quote and reply to this....Bahaha man Sun I sat here for a solid couple minutes confused as shit by what" advise or tip" you were giving in that blue line. Its late and the brain is a little haggard form all this intensive research( thank you all for having it here for me to read and research though! god damn I love ya!)

But yeah...I read it and was thinking slow and easy for press method or something, somehow making a terpy godsend that was equivalent to puppies and rainbows and fresh nugs and cookies....Then my brain's memory turned back on and my own bipolar tendencies recognized what ya did there with that dudes comment. Hah. Haha good stuff. Probably a funnier moment here in my head alone, but I had a good chuckle. Felt like sharing. Thank ya

Wanted to get this thread all read before the morning, got something that needs taken down and I wanted to have a well-planned thoroughly researched DIY setup ready tomorrow for a little taste. But after this rambling of mine, I do believe my late-night steam has up and vanished while I wasn't paying attention and keeping the train on track. And as such, I must bid you all farewell until the morrow. Fucking gnight, you beautiful people.

Lmfao well I guess that did have dual meaning hahahah! At lower temps for the terpy budders, blow out it more realistic so yeah you have to go slow and easy if your doing a press with a high load rate density. But I said that just cause I was tired of the drama. Yeah I'm a shit talker when it comes to crap that I know sucks and is just chinese shit being flipped by hustlers to take advantage of the patients. I mean look at the 3 dry trim machines out now that all have the same saddle and barrel concept. Wtf do they not do any R&D??? The saddle (blade) fucking sucks and the machine works better without it! But mean green is suing trim pal over patent infringement of the saddle. Ahahhaa those things are rediculously over priced as well. Now there's a third comapny, triminator I think, that's the same shitty overpriced design.

One person comes out with a concept that kinda works and then everyone just rushes to mass produce the same shit for cheaper. Lots of people think pneumatic is the way jist cause rosintechnologies. Gives me a good laugh! If you get a good deal on one that's great but for the price on new units for production, the force is extremely low. The incognigrow press is hilarious. 2800 for over sized platens that burn on your oils with only 800 pounds of force, wtf? If people selling presses don't understand the difference between force and pressure, beware.

Phagoos - yeah leverage is good. I think a 2 ton metal arbor press would be a table top more compact and longer lasting setup though.

Well I tried my first little press today, gotta say it wasnt close to worth it, yet. did a few different sized presses, all under 1.5 g at a time, on some very wet green material. Perhaps too green? Definitely got the milky white flow stuff that HMK speaks of...but literally almost 0 was able to be collected, even after freezer and cold marble slab. Maybe got 1 tiny dab outta everything combined. I mean tiny. I was able to determine though, that I am not a fan of parchment! haha. I Had big flat hair iron and table top vice, old school with a crank. Im going to work on making a setup like HMK's gun or something very soon, would live to get some terpy godly tasting stuff thats also more than like 2% yield. I definitely got the sizzle and was able to press em all multiple times, no filter just flower and parchment, felt like there should have been more rosin to be had.

Here is an example of what your parchment should look like. These are from early attempts and I get better than this now.

This is what I get from about a 1/2 to 3/4 gram bud.

Hehehehe nice sticker ringo!

Well the buds are only going to get drier right? Keep trying. With that setup your probably going to want the 200F- 250F range. It's possible you didn't have enough heat?

oh yeah, I was getting way waaay whiter and runnier stuff, clear in some places. It was an absolute bitch to even see on the paper. Ill turn the heat up tomorrow and press a few more times n get back, hopefully with some pictures. Thanks for the quick replies and input!

It may have been too much heat as well, that was only a suggestion. Hard for any of us to really know anything unless we were there.

looks like the rosin plate game is getting pretty advanced..

different sized and shaped pre-made heating plates using enail heating coils essentially...

I'd wager to bet than in the next month there will be 3-5 new presses and a whole whack of people pushing their pressing plates.

exciting times.....

Facebook seems to be just hopping lately....
