Oh well looky loo it's memed! Havnt seen you in a really long time. And then FE blasts in too, wtf is going on today?

I think that design is great for pressing records but is way over complicated and not as accurate and controllable as I'd like. That was pretty crazy though, is the guy like an old school vinyl junkie?

What's with the little half fold at the end..."blunts?" Hehehehe.
Seriously though I've been wondering for a minute why you do that.

the little corner at the end made it fit nicer in the press. that part went over the bar on the vice.

the one i just made doesn't have any wire obstructing the opening so that little corner fold is unnecessary. also i orient the paper differently in the new one. i think i can actually use less paper per press with the new press.

Fuck me im getting tired of parchement....

too much pressure and the parchement rips as u all know... Pre-pressing into pucks helps...

Tempted to go back to a piston style for flowers....

1/16 SS perf sheeting is $38 a ft2.

ANYWAYS For those with more $$$ than I...

William Ma was the Product specialist I talked to about Mch heaters 4 months ago :)

Min order of $4000 before any bulk pricing happens.

So...to begin with for off the shelf custom heaters it is $100 a pop till u hit 400 pieces, after that it is 10 bucks a heater.

Custom built heaters is $1500 for 10 heaters....

Jesus that is expensive. Ill hook you guys up with my mch supplier if it turns out to be good. Im paying 6 dollars a pop for testers and bulk cost is around 400 dollars for 500 heaters

Like I said pricey :) good luck trying to get him to lower his prices tho, no dice for me

I like the prices greyfox is quoti. :)

I do as well friend, I just need to confirm that it's not a scam or anything as it is an Alibaba supplier.

They do supply test units as well instead of having to make the 500 piece order. I was able to get 10 rectangular and 2 circular ones for the cost of shipping to Canada but opted for 10 rectangular and 10 circular for an extra 30 bucks added on my end. fingers crossed!
The price from the guy in Ontario seems wild considering you can just go on ebay and get what you need there. It wouldn't surprise me if he ordered from China unless quality of these heaters is through the roof, but I don't really know how they can be improved upon to go from 6 dollars to 100 dollars.

If you need fox, I'll do the research again and find manufactures. I saw similar prices, like a dollar a pop for larger orders.

Thanks for the offer dude, Everything seems to be in order at the moment going by the emails. Either that or this guy is just dedicated even after hes gotten the money :p.
still working on finding a suitable controller. The hunt continues!

my extract these days is ridiculously runny and is a whitish sort of foam. low temp long time presses with material that was slowly dried out, but not let to really dry out very well at all. super tasty. if you use a tool to collect it it isnt so liquidy and white gooey, but as its such a liquidy extract i am gently scraping it up with a razor to get the brunt of it, then tool up the thin film remains.

Greyfox...

One of the reason's guy in ont is expensive is you will have ur heaters in a day or 2....unless he needs to fab, then it is approx 20-30 days if i remember correctly....

way better options out there tho.

Moisture, it's good for extraction but not for collection and dabbing. I was playing with a dry/cure process similar to IWE. Dry cold room, freeze the paper after pressing, pop it off into a turkey bag quickly and back into the freeze. Open up freezer and a few gentle whacks with a rubber Mallet to crumble. Spread crumbles thin on paper in cold room, dry 3-5 days with daily dab tests to gauge moisture content and terpene retention. Color remains great with no autobudder

its fine for extraction, collecting and dabbing for me. I make enough for the next few hours, and some super fresh moist oil goes down great. i can dab moist oil with my curve capper no problemo. I press a gram every few hours i estimate.

Oh shit HMK is in here I honestly questioned if this whole rosin thing was legit. Gonna take me little to get through 100+ pages now!
Props on spreading the knowledge

i switched over in march bro, 100%. I get a stronger effect than what i get with BHO. More potent, count me in!
I'm loving the Rosin as well. Pressing 2+g of kief is so satisfying to watch. I need to get some really good quality sift and press that, then I can die happy seeing the golden goo.

Some heating controllers that may be useful. Unsure of price at the moment. Ill need to email them. http://www.hotwatt.com/voltage.htm

That's totally not what you want at all. There are variable voltage controllers that are similar to pid, but that is not one of them, that's more like a rotary dimmer but it shaves voltage instead of amperage.

I'm telling you, of you want a proper controller it's not gonna be cheap or easy. You can go the china route but I wouldn't want to deal with the logistics of their shit, especially shipping, when it breaks. Also programming the controller with Chinese instructions is fucked. The Chinese (translated to english) instructions for programming my vac ovens was impossible to understand. Nice American ones even come with software to make programming even easier. To control both platens you'll need to add maybe 100 to the cost Chinese style or 400 American style which both prices should include the tooling for the platens.

I personally think that would defeat the purpose of your design as its well suited for the personal home user based on its size and ability to be very affordable.
