ive been pressing fresh dried ww and it is producing a cool almost neon orange extract that is runny when first pressed but will slowly set up over a day or so, yet my ga is light pale yellow....

hey all, good reads since i last posted. Just wondering if any of you guys have tried using silicone heating pads for the hmk style press. http://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...072766.html?spm=a2700.7724857.35.1.vMF06z&s=p (something like these)
Also wondering what the consensus is for using oil-slick pads on a low heat element, I've read from one person that it degrades with each use or something along those lines? What I was wanting to do was mount two of the small size oil slick pads to the flat iron elements then either press with more silicone pads or simply use parchment if it is an issue. I take it the interwoven material in the pads might not hold up to pressure very well?

It was GanjaPharma I believe that was using the slick pads and yes I do believe he said they don't last forever.

http://www.mtixtl.com/25THydraulicFlatHotPress-EQ-HP-88V.aspx <-OR THIS-> http://www.hydraulic-press-prosperous.com/hydraulic-hot-press.htm for 4 grand Id much rather something like this but with adjustable plate sizes that can be rotated in and out, with cooling plates awaiting the squirted resin terpjuice! not sure that the 2nd one is 4 gs tho lol

doing some digging thanks to Sunfire ;) Just getting started, this Rosin thing is getting out of hand. Hydraulic next? hahaha maybe Ill stick with my pneumatic for now.

But honestly Tvenzuras biggest knock on the pneumatic was that is Doesnt have gradient to pin point pressure abilities, which I agree it doesn't but I can adjust the speed that the rod comes down at, making that point basically Void... It can come down SLOW as hell (extremely slow) with the twist of 2 knobs, or it can punch it too, real fast. This doesn't affect the force much so it allows for lots of tweaks.

I find that Tonys right the slower the better, but not so slow that youre exposing the flowers or hash to unnecessary decarb'ing temps! I like 3-4 seconds max. From there its all about using the right amount of material, and surface area (breakdown of material) so that its not too thick, and so that you're heat can penetrate quickly and evenly!

I found that I was able to do up to 2.5 grams with our 4700lbs of force centered nicely with 4x4 marble plate, which will be changed to steel and reduced by a half inch. \(sunfire can maybe do the frormula for psi I am not that savvy) lol Rectangles will be tested out but I like squares like Sunfire also says, I think youve hit that one on the head already.

second presses are sometimes necessary, but I am finding sometimes youll get a bone dry chip after 1 press so this is the goal each and every time from now on...if we do press twice, I dont like dbl stacking the chips, but Ill place 2 side by side for the second press and do 3-4 seconds max..dbl stacking usually reduces the yield and causes blowouts, we have the height of our plates and rod just right so that its absolutely getting the full force and if you bump it up too thick it just tears the parchment every time....Cheers all, more to come

First off, hello everybody! I think this is the most comprehensive rosin discussion on the internet so I want to be a part of it. Secondly, those silicon heating pads look awesome. About the oil slick pads- I've been using the two small ones in between a hair straightener with quick grip. It's true, over time the interwoven material becomes worn out from the pressure. Also it's not uncommon for a stem to almost poke through the silicon pad, causing it to have a permanent bump. I stopped using parchment paper because I bought a cheap brand at first and couldn't recover all of the rosin. Once I tried using the slick pads I never looked back. When the slick pads are new they are awesome, it's just that after only a couple ounces they get beat up.

4"x4"=16sq inches. 4700lbs/16=293.75psi. I would think your marble would crack at some point much lower than 4700 lbs unless it's also 4" thick, things will go flying if things break under extreme pressure...

Yes yesss!

220 F I'm rockin!

Whadeezlrg Yup hahahaha the marble cracked which is why we only got the 1 test run in with it. .hit 20% though

Thanks for help with psi conversion!! Smaller plates r coming so we can get those psi #s way up...or even use the rod 1.5" circle diameter ....try the torch heat tek lol

I'm at work so wanted to him in quick sry for not individually referencing namesnofnthose I replied to...

Sunfire I think u have more tonnage than me :(( but I'll use the conversion formula there ton see what we're able to get..maybe we can hit some high numbers and get that budder like ur doing at 130 f...that's sweeet

And ur right would need some customizations I know ur not too fond of this particular style!!
