New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

oh sorry bro we totally should have been there for you.

first question answered, it depends on what people will pay you for it!

second question, you stick it in there and press it with parchment paper. trial and error will allow you to dial it in perfectly, much better than reading someone elses description, you need to do it to dial it in (also reading most of this thread rather than just asking for a quick answer will get you far more data than anyone is willing to retype for you).

Not sure why you are being a smart ass? Your first answer is garbage, I am not a shady bastard. I am asking the going rate, because the returns are so low compared to BHO. Your second answer is useless, unnecessary, and rude. I have read the whole thread, dont assume I have not. I have seen a lot of people using your technique, including myself....but I do not see anyone sharing the temps or clamp times. I thought this thread was here to share info, not to act like aholes. i have spoken to you via PM and you were nice, and shared your method with me. I will gladly share my findings with anyone...I was simply asking for others experiences. If i have missed their personal experience apologiz....I not ask if the answers were given.

Now when you turn it back on do the plates just release or do they stay? I rigged something similar with a Vise Grip clamp and it works fucking amazing. Only problem is I have to re-glue it every couple of uses. But for only $20 I spent on straightener I can handle that.

it's staying so far. seems very snug and secure. I've only pressed maybe 10g of flowers so far tho. I'll post back here if it falls apart soon.

hey made a profile just to ask you guys some questions.. mainly heady blunts !

i have a remmington flat iron http://************/o7pzpxu

im thinking about getting this clamp http://************/pslepd3

if i try and take the heating plates and "mold" them to the clamp, would i even need to use screws and drill? im trying to avoid screwing and drilling stuff...

Would that jb weld mentioned a few pages back work? or should i do what you're describing and put the plates on the clamp until its melted in..?

and most importantly how do i stay as safe as possible while doing this..much electrical tape on everything besides anything that gets really hot?

im considering doing this as oppesed to just clamping the flat iron down because i would run the risk of breaking the flat iron...

Thanks for any response in advance

hey f2b, welcome to ICMAG!

first off, can't see your links. ICMAG tou won't let you post links to online stores. try finding a pic of the product and posting that.

TBH you should prepare yourself to break a couple irons, possibly a clamp also, and mess up a decent amount of material when embarking on this journey.

I'll share what I've learned but you'll probably still run into unique obstacles and may need to improvise.

I haven't tried any glue products yet.

I was able to mold the hot plates into the plastic pads of the quick grip. I used a titanium plate hair iron so I can't tell you if it'll work with ceramic plates.

the iron HMK uses has the unique feature of screw mounts on the back of the heating plates themselves, which seems to be a very clean mounting solution as well.

I have taken apart three diff cheap hair irons so far and none of them have screw holes in the back of the plate. they were all marketed as "floating plate" design and when I took them apart the heating plates are held in place by plastic brackets. these brackets will not withstand augmented pressure.

SAFETY TIPS:

if you look at both HMK and my presses you'll see we hacked off the bit of plastic housing that surrounds the power cord swivel joint. that joint is basically 120v waiting to get you so make sure you encase it carefully.

use electrical tape to cover the circuitry especially at the solder points for the wires. if your hair iron is designed in such a way that you can conveniently keep the original plastic housing around the circuitry, consider doing that.

obviously the plates get extremely hot, so keep all wires clear and be careful not to burn yourself.

and please leave your electronics unplugged while taking them apart and fucking with the circuitry!

hth!

No pics of their press but apprently this guy @strait_concentrated has a 40k cold-press? Claims they are getting 16% return from lower bud larf on 1 picture....

oh i love you too :)

and you got a cheeky response from me for demanding answers from us, as if anyone owes you them. you asked a second time with exclamation points as if we should come running to help you.

sorry you got grumpy about it. if you are going to ask the questions you did its hard to imagine you read the whole thread, so its easy to make the mistake you are ignorant as you acted. clamp times and methods are up to you. there is tons of info about times and temps, on this thread and others on the net, but you REALLY need to experiment to learn how to do it best. not sure why you are making me repeat myself..

and for your attitude about price questions, the returns aren't so low. people are getting up to 30%. 20% is normal, and i know a guy who says he is consistently getting 25%. what i said is exactly true, whatever people will pay for it is your going rate.

HMK does this look like the same one you have with the screw holes on the back of the heating plates?

View Image

You sure HMK? I just took that exact one apart and it has no mounting screws, the board is green instead of yellow like yours and does not have the LED lenses mounted directly to the board either.

Are there two very similar conairs?

okay i went back 10+ pages but i couldn't find the post to give credit to the idea, but someone mentioned a week or two ago that the plates from their hair iron melted into the quick-grip. thank you to that person for the idea!

its thirdeyevision, and your sense of time is distorted, its one page back, and its 3 days ago :D

lol. thanks thirdeyevision!

Just finished making my quickgrip press, thanks for the inspiration hmk. I just used some foil tape to hold it in place for the first few squeezes to make sure it worked before i drilled holes in the plates to add screws....as it turns out the grooves on the back of the ceramic plates were ideal for attatching itself to the rubber pads of the quickgrip...lmao the heat and pressure has welded my hair iron plates to the grip by itself. Its never coming off. No epoxy glue or screws necessary .

sounds like f2b's question was answered here too.

haha awesome it looks just like mine! Although i was a little off on my initial alignment as i was not expecting the self adhesion, after about a qp worth of pressing flowers the position of one plate has shifted minimally, but has not negatively affected anything yet. There seems to be a lot of squishes left before/if the rubber pad deteriorates.

that strait_concentrates guy says he's pressing at 260 in one comment thread. that pic is *not* tagged coldpressedhashoil tho so maybe he has several designs working?

:mopper:

looks like vitamin g already tagged you homie.

I did some light browsing on his IG and didn't see any images of his press tho. but his most recent shit talks about bringing it to norcal and pressing for people, plus impending availability on the retail market.

is this guy working with those hash church guys? sun, didn't you call the verzuera press the straight gold extractor?

this guy calls his the strait gold extractor. perhaps the same crew?

lots of tags and reposts from those guys.

it may be the bandana headband dude...

sorry its hard for me to keep up with the rosin scene, are people doing large runs of this stuff yet? what is the best input material, dry sift? I want to press a bunch of my outdoor harvest this year but idk if the tech is at that point yet

No dude he tagged me on straight_concentrates but the way he spelt it without the gh is a mystery.

Yeah he's in bed with tony, and yes its the bandana guy. On tony's feed you see pics of the press. The single tier 2 bolt and post one and the triple tier. Same guy.

Lol you see how pissed he is with me?!? That's too funny, well atleast he will talk with me now hehehehe! Obvioisly there's some thing to what I've been saying, he's straight_pissed !!

They are doing big runs but I'll say it till the day i die that design is terrible for decarb. They have to run 260F just to get it to juice with such low pressures considering the filter pack size and ram tonage. Smaller presses are the way to go I think but I really need to get to the analytical stage to see some results. I for sure feel like longer low temps press pull and preserve more terps.

you can press whatever you want. Production yield will be with sift or wash for sure but flowers give you more of that terpy budder lovelyness!

Idk ester I was just talking with someone about this. I feel for sure water washes off some terps even at freezing temps but are those terps coming from the plant material or the trichs? I think it's a possibility if done right iwe can actually pull those terps off the plant material and deposit them on the hash. Just a thought though.

There's a guy on ig I was talking to and he says his iwe is higher in terps than people's dry sift and said that most people compare it to Cuban grown dry sift. Idk myself personally. The Iwe guys never want to share tech. It's starting to piss me off a little cause they all be hitting me up for rosin tips and have lots of questions but no one want to answer my questions lol!

OK seriously thougj, is no one else concerned those multiple.posts got straight deleted? That's super messed up to erase someone's posts without even telling them! How are we supposed to log research in a book where pages are subject to random disappearance?
