New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

I been playing around with pressing kief and flowers, i prefer flower rosin but kief produces a pure shatter product.
Here's some pics of my method...i use a heat press set at 200c and press for 10 seconds on the hardest setting.

Next harvest i'll try with moister buds im sure that will up the yield abit, these flowers are bone dry.

Second press hardly yields anything unless your doing shorter presses like 4-6 seconds.

Pic 1 of my last post shows the first, and second squeeze. Some came the first squeeze then i moved the packet and there is the second squeeze, a lot more. So for me 2 squeeze's were better than one. I will play around some more today...

you can re-moisten buds in a jar with a bit of moisture in it.

To moisten anything, I just leave the bag outside, open, under a roof line or something so the humid night air moisten it up but there's no direct condensation on the material, it's cheap and easy!

Whoa your press g for ten seconds? I have a feeling that lower temps with more pressure for longer time will yield a better color and more. Fuck I can't wait for this damn press in the mail.

I'm going to start working on how to pre press pucks tomorrow. I'm thinking I can solder together a series of tubes and use a cheap hydraulic press. Maybe just should order one now!

So here are pics of the first and second press.
Pic 1 the blobs are close together, there is by far more in the second press/ blob.
Pic 2 is some other kief i tried with the same results, the second blob is way more.
Both presses were around 7 sec at 285* in a vice squeezing the hair straightener as hard as was safe. I tried a longer first press but it wasn't as effective as a second press. So it seems for me the second press is important.

I am using unpressed kief just making a little ball inside the screen it seems to work as good as the pressed second grade hash...

i've already used all my flowers i put aside for Rosin but i might give that a go with a gram cheers.

I already use the highest pressure setting my press has and i've found 10 seconds is fine when using a slick pad as you've got that extra protection but i wouldn't press that long with just parchment paper.

A lower heat would produce a better product i agree but it's all about finding a balnce that works for you.

I added bunch of improvements to my rosin press:

bolted the hair iron to the plate (took it apart and drilled through the bottom shell), stronger hinges, a heavier and wider pressing lever, a wood block for lateral stability, an aluminum shim to increase pressure, and a clamp to lock the whole thing down. I wish I put the shim in earlier- it seems to improve yield more than any of the other mods. Roji did something similar with a t shirt press early in the thread, but I didn't think it could be applied to a hair iron.

right on.

i used to do two or three presses and still get something, but now that have it dialed in for one bud presses, it seems i get almost all on one press. i still do the second press though, its very slight. i let the second press papers collect for later.

I have a question I have made Rosin with the two bowls and hot water method, I have made it with a small bag of dry sift, with water hash, with a dried bud, but now I am thinking what will happen with a fresh picked bud? Has anyone tried it? Then I can drive with my roto-squeeze-tractor through a field and harvest all the Rosin and leave the plants standing, but resin free....
Or I can try it on a Skunk#1 in my window,,,,

It seems like youd be juicing if you squeezed fresh buds. Maybe if you dry down while its still standing. I was thinking that it may be doable if you only dried half way or so. Next harvest Im going to try it at different stages of drying to see what happens...

not really Sam. Maybe there is a way with enough heat or something. I tried a few times and the resultant collection is very moist with water, and not much resin seems to collect at all really. You can get something, but not a lot. I haven't gotten results good enough to call it worth it, however the smell of a fresh panama red/red congo bud squished with heat smells so good! The best terpene experience i have had all year i think.
