My coffee mug holding my phone while I collect a little morning dab of Les Fleurs Bleues high CBD.

The flowers were still very fresh, the main buds all went in a paper bag for first sweat yesterday and I pressed some larf right away.

It would not be quite as gooey if I press some more today.

With the issue I had with my Bubbleman pen's tank due to, ultimately, dirty rosin. I decided I absolutely needed some filtration. I ordered some 2.25"x4" Sasquash bags . I'm hoping they aren't too big as I actually have a 2.5x2.5" press. I was watching rosin videos pressing flower with bags. Then I stumbled on a video about folding paper for "directional flow". Ultimately I went with the methods used by Elysian Research method. I had everything they were using and not much changed with the way I cut the filters and wrap them, I got that part right. The only difference really was wrapping the puck in oil slick paper like a gift but leaving the last side open (watch the videos on YouTube if you really want to know the details). Another difference is I used 2x the amount of bud as I normally would (4 grams) based off the comment that they use 2 grams per square inch. By my calculations, that's 4.5 grams for my 1.5"x1.5" pre-press. Here is my first attempt. I think it could be a little lighter but was only pressed at 90°C, next time I will try 85°C . Other than that it's a nice pull and snap texture, and yield was around 20%. Previous attempts with the filter were as low as 5-8%. Collection was a breeze with the directional flow, that's the huge difference.

I used to make piles of ''dirty rosin'' and Id clean about 3-5 grams at a time via coffee filters and it works very well and cheap. Lately, I dont clean my rosin anymore, since I mostly only dab at home, at low temperature, I dont mind a little contaminant here and there does not affect the banger or the taste or anything, then I always use DC glass cleaner to clean the banger after each dab. My plates have been set on 83 celcius for a long time I think it's my sweet spot for hash and flowers. I heat my banger red hot and let it cool down 80-85 sec, it's one of the smaller banger from DC glass, if not the smallest.

Are a lot of you guys still pressing on parchment? Any thoughts about the silicone contamination from terpenes breaking it down?

we talked about possible parchment contamination in depth hundreds of pages ago. Can't recall many details, except; not a worry, as I recall.

Well lookit Dr. Son of a Bitch and his fancy toy.

You can almost taste the jealous.

Silicone can absorb some terpenes from what I read, whether it contaminates the rosin is less clear. My understanding was that the silicone will swell but not dissolve. The coating on parchment likely has adjuvants to assist in spraying and/or adhering to the paper, ruling out references to containers and fitting seals.

Fresh frozen trim rosin. 73u second grade.

Yes, fresh frozen. Fresh weed (trimmings and a few smalls), put in a freezer. Say it with me. Fresh. Frozen.

Novel concept.

I can't wait for my next bud run, I did with some fresh frozen (buds, untrimmed, outdoor), by the time I Was done with it the bigger nugs were still frozen like an ice cube, and got good yield, I think I am going to start freezing the lowers fresh on my indoor plants.

That freeze drier would save so much time .... no need to spread the hash right, right from the bubble bags into the drier in a patty? Please Santa get me one for Christmas!! oh wait, I am Santa.... :)

Yes I am wondering about that too.

Might be able to borrow the use of one.

Not finding much information yay or nay on the claim it evaporates terpenes. You'd think it would be a matter of dialing the machine in (the difference between the preset home use and adjustable scientific freezer).

Well the best thing to do if you can borrow one is to do a proper side by side, actually, several side by side with different cultivars, and get back to us. QUICK!

Dried two days at 55F/65RH on parchment after a push through the sieve. I left it overnight in a container with a travel pack desiccant and pressed this morning.

73 micron. Can't recall the LPI. The middle bubble bag.

Bloody ass I know is growing trichromes to >120u.

Didn't taste it, just a quick job for a friend re: piece work. Consistency was shattery, though likely to budder. I've pressed too fresh before and made a goopy watery mess, this went much better and I am happy with the technique. 25u micron could have went a day longer on the parchment.

Should hear back tonight on whether it crackles, but that is an easy fix with a short cure in said desiccant box. I prefer to wait until it budders to hand it off but what can you do.

I like this idea, why dry anything when you can run fresh frozen bubble then press into rosin? My only concern so far would be if it is a variety that requires a longer cure to bring everything out, does it need the same time curing or would it be reduced since it was just extracted to resin then HPO?

Tried to press some fresh material this season. It was fresh, within 30 minutes of being cut. Turned into a giant water mess, total fail.

Couple days of drying and it works well. Although I was amazed at the difference in color between genetics more than the difference in color between cure times. For instance some genetics, pulled early, pressed fresh will press dark. While other genetics can go fully ripe, cure for a month and still press light.

Sacrificed an entire Sour Diesel tree into rosin. Amazing color, makes such great concentrate. It sort of ruined me though. Prior I was pressing some Dosido hybrid's, that have a really great cookie flavor, but the color and consistency from the Sour Diesel made the Dosidos look dark.

Sucks that the market is so superficial about color. The Dosido hybrids have much more flavor and smell, but the Sour Diesel has that color.

Mr^^
