New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

I'm supposing so (and hoping for) a similar result. Heck, if people are getting 'okay' results with hair straighteners

Hair straightener and a c clamp, not okay results; results are as good as any other press for quality. Maybe not complete yield, but excellent press with primitive tools is easy after you dial it in.

The Hermit,

After shipping and taxes I think a CA/US made set of plates would be nearly 700€. I paid 700CAD with 45 shipping. The prepress form is around 100, I imagine a local machinist could knock one out in minutes.

You could message a few manufacturers and see if they will send it as a "gift".

TheEnglishCut may know a better answer.

Ah just checked out the Dabinator website after seeing your reference to coil heaters. I haven't used one but I believe the consensus is to leave coil heaters for enails. Slow heat up and inconsistent heating crop up.

There are many companies like that here selling shifty presses and expensive filtres.

You can't go wrong with Canadian made. We are afterall the offspring of the cream that floated to the top of the jar in Europe and the US.

^^^ I'm in the very deep south so instead of cream or even skim milk I'm a bit of the filth that gets filtered out and used as fertilizer. :)

I was going to add a disparaging comment about the south but it is one of the few places down there I would like to visit.

Even on the island I mock southies, as we call them. The cream floats to the top of the island.

As I call them. Real soft type people.

HMK comes from there I think.

Hey Mikell, I may be a redneck but not your typical redneck. My mother was a school teacher and operatic singer and my father was a civil engineer and college professor. By golly, I even have some college education. I will admit that I remain 'stoopit' and 'ignernt' despite the heroic efforts of my parents, teachers and professors. However, for whatever it's worth, I was never a cowboy (also referred to as 'shit-kickers' where I was raised). I have a well-balanced ego so don't mind being thought of as 'poop' by others because this piece of poop is full of hot air and floats to the top of the very best of creams. :D

Does anyone else wish to comment on using a vulcanizer for resin production?

Pretty close to the demarcation line.

Says this guy. We're probably moving just a bit north of you. That'll make us like buttbuddies or something.

My vote was to go further north but my vote don't get counted.

Brown,

I am from a small old coal/logging town known for "keepin'er in the family". There's a small pamphlet of very specific insults for said town.

The hippies have invaded. No more backyard burning, woodstoves, freedom from political correctness, dirtbikes on mainstreet, etc. It's all full of pussies and recent arrivals from the city looking for "a deeper connection with the earth".

Anyone with a pair behind their zipper has moved or is planning to. I don't even go back to visit except to get drunk and yell at the little pansies.

You might try Reddit or FuckCombustion. Watch out for the idiots on r/rosin, most of the advice givers haven't even used a hair straightener.

sorry I am one of the hippy that invaded your town. Such a nice place to live, but I think I got here before the more hipsters moved in lol

Flowers, just dried for 3-4 days after chop is my preferred squishee.

I just tried a 5 day squish and it came out pretty good.
18g of an Animas Valley x Black Lime Reserve Cross I made. The consistency is like petroleum jelly, it retains its shape when left out at room temperature instead of leveling out like everything else I made.
This was at 180f and maxed out around 9000lbs.

How does rosin compare to BHO and products refined from BHO?

What should I look for in a press?? Have looked at youtube, and seen some very expensive units. Ebay has a wide variety of units. One guy said too much heat and large plates are bad for quality. I have a bunch of material that is getting older (6 to 9 months), so would like something that can do a reasonable amount at once, but also want high quality and high extraction.

Also, who is good supplier of bags?

It is easier to find a press if you can ballpark the amount of material you want to press in a given amount of time.

Pressing for headstash with an abundance of time and a light dab habit, you could just use a straightener.

Pressing for yourself and a few others, all frequent dabbers, you may want a 3x3"-3x6" plate with a hydraulic press.

For profit, Elysian, Team Rosin, etc.

I'll be pressing just for me and a couple of others needing meds. I bought a used vulcanizer for $124 delivered to my door. It's the turning type that can press to at least a ton and has adjustable dual heated 4x6 inch plates. It's similar to the one shown below but not identical. Also, mine isn't as pretty but it works as it should.

I might be able to stretch and go for the cheaper team rosin. Elysian does not have any info on their web page. Do you know what their product sells for?

I found a pic of plates that I thought looked good and found a shop that will duplicate them for me.

Ask all of your friends, I'm sure one of them has a friend of a friend that works with metal and will do it for you for a reasonable price.

I bought a harbor freight press on sale and got the extra warranty and ive been going great for about a year now.

I believe the elysian research is 5500. Way to rich for my blood. Last I heard they are backordered. Peak pressure has something comparable, around the same price.

You can get a press for $600 or less that will press enough for anything you want. Big dollar presses are made for Rosin extraction and they look pretty.
