New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

I figure I will buy a cheap one for now, and extract whatever does not come out during press, with ethyl alcohol, then make gummies from it. I will only be pressing bud that is 4 to 9 months old. How does this one look -

Avoid manual presses like the plague. Pneumatic, or hydraulic ftw. I bought a manual, I had to make a bunch of modifications. For 500 you should be able to get a harbor freight press and a set of plates.

I would recommend following Sunfire's technique if using coffee filters with hash.

I have pressed with just paper, and while you can if you wait for the melt and press obscenely slowly, it is all very much more straightforward with SS.

Plus the squished brick looks all neat and shit.

Most coffee filtres are 5-15 micron as I recall.

I use the Sunfire method, chemex filters, 150 mesh ss, ptfe film, but I also make a parchment packet to put the whole puck in, that way if you have a blow out the parchment will help contain the rosin. I have noticed that sometimes there are small spots where some kief has broken through the filter but as long as there is no holes in the mesh the kief doesn't seem to leak out. I am doing 50gm pre-pressed pucks...

Coffee filters would be much finer than 25 micron.

I have a good feel for these dimensions. My bet would be less than 5 micron.

I agree, but I haven't added the SS mesh yet. I am only pressing small 2.5 - 3.5 grams pucks of flower. I do Chemex, parchment, then PTFE. I hate collecting off the PTFE, but the parchment tends to tear without the added support.

I mean the SS for hashes. I do the same as you with just paper for flower but with Melitta out of convenience. Keep meaning to order a few squares of Chemex to try.

The squares from China on Amazon came with a funky smell. Too cheap to order rolls and samples weren't forthcoming.

I'll be pressing just for me and a couple of others needing meds. I bought a used vulcanizer for $124 delivered to my door. It's the turning type that can press to at least a ton and has adjustable dual heated 4x6 inch plates. It's similar to the one shown below but not identical. Also, mine isn't as pretty but it works as it should.

Thank you. Yes, I know. I bought it from a retired jeweler... and I worked for a jeweler in my youth. I assured it's the type with dual heated plates. The only negative, other than it's a bit ugly, is there aren't separate controls for each plate. I can mitigate variances in plate temperatures by closing them together tightly for awhile between smashes. That's a bit of a time waster but I don't/can't do much these days anyway.

Id look into food grade if you can, personally I m happy with coffee filters for hash and no screen for buds, but for me it's small scale, personal consumption, I still wanna puff on clean rosin and this works for me.

Ive ordered LEDs from Alibaba from a reputable seller and it was easy, not difficult at all.
