New extraction technique? Rosin tech?

I'm in contact with a Chinese manufacturer that can get me that electric press from the amazon link for 800USD shipping included.

The issue i'm trying to avoid is massive shipping charges. I live in Eastern Canada so there aren't many local options for heavy presses.

I definitely would prefer a pneumatic or electric press. I don't want to have to be using manual force.

Which set of heating plates would you guys recommend if I was going to buy plates and press separately?

It is my understanding those machines stamp rather than press. 5t on 6x8 plates is not ideal either.

A controlled and variable press is beneficial.

TimeWizard GreyFox is based out of Ontario as I recall. A 10t MotoMaster shop press (180CAD on sale, 250 otherwise) and a set of 3x3-3x5 plates (450-700CAD) would be preferable in my opinion.

While he isn't great at replying to queries, something is better than the nothing you will get from China or an Amazon retailer selling Chinese units.

There are a few people using all electric presses for rosin. They aren't just a stamp.

I lov the press I got from China. It's the same press your referring to. The plate is 5x2. I can adjust the pressure by hitting the button. Works perfectly once the temp offset is set. They also have the same looking press but Pneumatic 20t for 450$. The Rosin Bomb is a Dual Ram uses a larger plate. I think they sale both but there $$. My press is a single ram looks identical to the Rosin Bomb. The more pressure you have the thicker your puck can be. I dont press more than 3.5g in ea run on a 5t. 20t you can do 1oz if it fits on the plate.

I'm having a tough time finding the same style press as the rosin bomb press from chinese sites.

I like the idea of having an all electric press, just finding the right one on these sites is like finding a needle in a haystack.

If you have a link/contact to your supplier you care to share that would be helpful lol

Hammerhead,

No offense intended. Your plate size is ideal.

I love China, don't get me wrong, Jack Ma in particular. I have 4 pocket scopes for the price of one local, with the exact same markings. Granted one LED is a different spectrum.

I do not love their slow as balls shipping. Never accept free shipping from the Chinese. It's called back of the line. I have learned to order things well in advance of possible use. Or to buy one at Canadian prices and order many more for the same price simultaneously from China.

But if something fails, I know I can have it from TWGF in short order.

Got my H330 Thermalate insulation "samples" conveniently cut to the size of my plates in the post today. Bloody stoked to install them when I find longer machine screws, the leather works quite poorly. And to test them with a guard in place.

I think I was a hassle to the machine shop but if others are interested I can ask if he will make to order. Seemed like small potatoes to him.

Interesting. I was just looking at those for a DIY freeze dryer to blow myself with.

Up. To blow myself up with.

Too warm by far for my liking.

These things take time.

But if you're in a hurry, I've read about people using a fan gently blowing air over hash that's laid out between layers of parchment on top of a towel.

But I wouldn't ever use a direct heat source of any kind.

Hope that helps. Peace, TEC.

I thought maybe we had lost you to Instagram.

It seems doable but I can already see the bill climbing.

I am back to air.

As a source of nutrition and perhaps faster drying. Pulling a vacuum on a chamber with a desiccant.

I am really happy with the quality I got out of fresh frozen whole plant water hash today. What I am curious to see now is if I store it between glass for extended period of time if it will oxidize or not and if it will lose the sizzle. the second dab I got was not as sizzly so the sizzle might not last whatever you do.

More or less true, although for now i'm a little less busy so i may find the odd moment of leisure to pop in! I just couldn't let someone try and dry hash like that though, had to speak up lol.

Here's a rosin pic to keep things on-topic, 3.5g of outdoor grown Back To The Congo 73µ bubble squished through a coffee filter with a hair straightener and body weight. I'm relatively skinny so that's not much pressure!

Anyone know a good material for an insulation barrier besides leather?
I finally get to pick up my 10t Dake press from the freight company tomorrow. Already have a set of 3x5 low temp plates with cages.

BTW, any looking for a DIY setup... the Dake b10 presses are $344 w/free shipping on zoro and 15-20% coupon codes are pretty easy to come by. I've heard Jet has similar deals w/free shipping.
I tried to go w/Harbor Freight at first, but they sent me a press with missing parts and forced me to mail the whole thing back instead of just sending me what was missing.

Yes leather doesn't work too well if you plan on using the thing for more than headstash.

Ordered some 1/2" thick Thermalate. I need to find longer screws before I test it.

When I played with shit pipes we had a black cloth to hang behind copper joints during soldering. This or a similar fabric thermal insulation seems like an easy modification. How effective is another matter.

Calcium silicate was proposed on FC or Reddit. There appear to be many grades with varying density and insulating property.

Some mold press insulation companies will provide cut to order "samples" if you ask nicely and can accomodate shipping (UPS, Fedex) with little effort on their end.

I have to say, I've been pressing for a while now, nothing commercial mind you, and the heat hasn't affected my press at all that I've noticed. 12 ton manual hydraulic.
