Those Mantises will eat anything they can catch. I saw a vid of one eating a bird a few years ago. Also saw one get a mouse.

pics or it didn't happen
You do know the female eats the male during copulation right???
For each prego mantis, or egg sack, you have to have had one male eaten alive...They are an intense bug.
I have another bug i call an assassin bug (but i found out i am wrong there), but don't know it's real name. These guys will actually attack me when i go to move or catch them...they can eat small hoppers as i have seen. They are truly mean mo-fos. I need a camera so bad...

yhea, my understanding is that the female eats the male soon after they fuck and she is impregnated.... she eats him for the nutrients needed to survive gestation and laying eggs.

Hey has anyone here heard of Trichome Institute in Denver, and their "Interpening" course?

It's like the cannabis version of a wine sommelier or a cheese monger. I'm sure a lot of you pros are fully aware of most of the course material. But as I'm new to the area and found it interesting, I've signed up for the class on the 27th of this month. Hopefully I can meet some cool canna enthusiasts and learn a thing or two! Maybe I'll see some of you there.

It's only $125 for the first level, and that includes the roughly $50 toolkit as they are calling it. Basically the book with some handy reference pictures and such. There is a second level as well I believe for $200, unsure if level one is a pre-rec but I would assume.

And yeah, I'll absolutely share my experience.

Also should have some pics to share of my plants once I flip and they start budding. Just some boring vegging plants for now.

Wow that sounds like a pretty crazy class. I got a buddy who's on that level, I call hI'm a pot snob. He does pheno selection for me.

That pic of the mantis es is awesome. We have a few here....not as many as last year cuz we have chickens now. I watched the chickens fuck up a snake the other day.

I saw a video on-line of a trained police dog. The dog isn't trained in sniffing out drugs but electronic storage devices. Makes me wonder if we could train dogs to sniff out say, CBD, or just THC, or any other cannabis compound. That could be useful when growing out a large number of plants for breeding/pheno hunting.

I would think so, dogs have been trained to identify patients with specific types of cancer. I would say it's at least conceivable. Gives a whole new meaning to man's best friend, lol.

Funny storys about growing...
Years ago I had just installed a new can fan and insulated ducting for a cold air intake into one of my grow rooms, the room was full of flowering plants maybe 16 or so huge 6 foot plants...

I go in the next day and I'm checking stuff out and I see what appears to be hair or fuzz all over the plants closer to the new intake, wtf? Then I see what appears to be a mouse hind quarter hanging off a plant wtf...

A fuckhead mouse chewed thru my ducting and sent fiberglass insulation and him or her self thru the new can fan and spread its self all over the room and the plants...

And then I learned all about how to make BHO figured it wouldn't melt fiberglass... Everytime I smoke BHO I giggle and think about mice! :)

^^ Lol, jeez.

I know you eat the occasional rodent dropping or oddball spider fragment in processed food, but that just sounds too disgusting.

But who knows, maybe the next grow hype craze to hit..

New! (Powdered) Rodent meal designed for foliar applications. Really makes the buds glisten*!

* Contains fiberglass

You eat more then the odd mouse droppings or bug parts... I've worked in the food processor industry, why do you think it's now illegal to film at any of those places?

We just passed a law that allows the U.S. to slaughter chickens then send them to China for processing then they send them back for sale to the U.S. market.

The usda inspectors have a size limit on the size of cow turd that can be sticking to a side of beef before it has to be just cut off or condemned same with tumors... Google pink slime Ibp beef plant invented it they wash the condemned meat with ammonia then grind it into hamburger...

Eat at Wendy's if you eat out! They have usda inspectors all the way thru from hoof to semi truck making sure it's right!

Oh I know brother. I was just trying to stay tame here lol.

Have you seen the video of the partially disabled hogs with obvious gigantic boils being sent for processing? And by that I mean beaten and electrocuted. The sight of that pustule being cut open and several ounces of puss coming out...all over the meat being sent for processing for sale.. Ugh, it's just too much.

And yet colorado has a fine elk herd you just have to go kill it. Sorry vegans. I hope after muzzle loader season I'll be able to go up with my bow. They aren't in full rut mode yet so I'm waiting. That's organic

I was 10 or 11 and me and my dad were in a ground blind, ass crack of dawn he was smoking a joint or had just smoked one, after we hiked out with our hunting clothes in a bag??? Anyways we heard the thunder of hoofs coming out into the meadow we were set up on the edge of, they were close! He draws back ready to let one fly as they come into view about 10 ft away I see him release the arrow then point his bow up at a 45 degree angle? He almost shot at herd of scared herferd cows running from something... Never let him live that one down... Pre compound days...

First batch of Pueblo Hot Chilies from peppers plus yesterday...i am so bloated now, but love the burn. This is what being in Colorado in the Fall is all about.

The Bows will be dancing to the October Caddis VERY soon. Tight lines and happy pots on the ends of the bows to all ya...Doubt any-one here will understand this.

People have been farming since the dawn of man.

books that I have that were writ in 1870 are still as relevant today, if not more so... because these days we need to purify our toxic chemmed farmlands. We've come to a point where chems are damn near necessary in some places.... further salting the earth.

Let me know if the class comes with magic "pest-proof" underpants

You wanna take a gardening class?

https://www.plantsbycreekside.com/gardening-workshops-events/gardening-classes/

25$

I hate the over-capitalization of this fucking "industry". It seems like "cannabis"-anything costs at least 20 times the amount of regular-anything.

But then again, I liked it much better when it was med-only.

Recreational legalization has only served as an excuse for a veritable flood of new laws, quadrupled prices and cannabis immigrants.

Between the square footage restrictions and HID mounting rules buried in municipal codebooks to the outright ridiculous plant counts the law will not respect anyway to the demonization we face while driving and are at risk of being subjected to involuntary blood collection... at this point, I will simply no longer comply.

First, a hyperactive goofy puppy who loves to play is chosen.

Dogs are trained with a very clean rolled up towel (no odor)... tug of war.

As the towel becomes the dogs favorite toy, you add crack or meth or cannabis or money or whatever rolled up in it....

Keep playing tug of war... keep the towel the dogs favorite.

Have extremely limited amounts of other toys.

You then begin hiding the towel to make the dog find it...

Make it a deeply ingrained habit to the dog to sit when he does find it.

Immediate hardcore playtime with the towel once he lets you get it peacefully while staying seated.

The dog associates the odor of the chosen item with his towel.

A dog is not ever trained to find a thing...
the dog is just hyper and looking for his own shit...

Soak your towel in whatever single terpene, item or compound you desire.

Its the same mechanic to the dog irrespective of what is used.

Just wait till you see 4-8 more states legalize Rec. When you have states like Cali that legalize, you are going to be seeing that that is where the migration heads to. You are going to have those who are saying they are freezing their balls off during the winter, who migrated here for the Rec scene from a warmer state and may leave for greener places.

One can hope...

I fear the feds will undercut us all legally in favor of Bayer and GW Pharma long before I see any improvements.

EDIT: ??? Winter is the BEST time to grow... no AC...

I'd HATE to pay a Commiefornia electric bill during the summer...

Patent # 6,630,507 is one example of that.

That's why every one there grows out side, right? I'm glade I don't have to endure their electric billing, period.

Oh, I know. In the winter I can even use the heat from the air cooled hoods to help heat the place
