NEW Colorado Growers Thread

Denver has been that way for awhile wrt A64. OTOH, nobody can tell me what the penalty would be in a household of 3 adults & 18 plants. I can't see how it would pass constitutional muster at all, given the way A64 lays it out. I haven't seen news of any enforcement action wrt that, either. I think it'd be a busted by accident scenario, anyway, given that the cops have a lot of much bigger fish to fry. They're hot & heavy on bigger out of state shippers, for sure.

The fact that people can legally have some plants really throws a kink in cops' style. Smell isn't really grounds for search unless maybe if it's ridiculous, reeking out the neighborhood like a lot of warehouse operations do periodically around here. The fact that A64 growers require no licensing or paperwork at all makes it even tougher for them.

I never was part of the Med scene so I really can't speak to that. I just play it by Denver's rules because it gives me what I want in terms of quantity & quality. Plenty of smoke for family & friends. Plenty of time to let it ripen & plenty of new kinds to try.

Old hippies never had it so good. I'm bringing Rio Negro Colombian from Centennial to the front of the line when I harvest the current mixed batch. Ben said it has "character" & I'm eager to find out.

Yeah, I certainly don't need 12 plants for myself and friends for the smoke, it would just give me more to select from and not have to worry about cops showing up for a false alarm or some shit like that and finding I'm over the 6 now allowed.

Since I'm not a caregiver I don't understand the issues and impact this might have for them. Being selfish I guess

It restricts absolutely everything up to and including your ability to do a simple pheno run of seeds to pick one plant of a dozen.

fuck them. for short periods randomly I could have hundreds of seedlings that are all gonna die when the right few start showing the right traits.

Because they are not farmers, they do not know how to even go about growing any kind of cannabis plant. But they want to tell the farmer how they should grow a plant. They just don't understand farming hemp/cannabis.

Just imagine if they passed a law saying that you could only have 6 corn stalks/plants with in a 3x3 or 4x4 foot space.

I think to put it a better way,

Its like saving your money and setting up your farm.

You buy heirloom organic seeds of whatever ...-melons.

You intend on finding the biggest juiciest melons, pollinating their flowers and making even better seeds for the next season.

You are then told you are limited to 6 melon plants.

No longer can you pick the best melons out of all your seeds, finding a GREAT one to pollinate.

Instead, you have to pick from limited selections where, at best, you'll find mediocre melons to pollinate.

Are you a happier farmer with your crop next season using:

A: The GREAT melon picked from 100 seeds
B: The mediocre melon picked from 6 seeds

Overall, these things decrease the overall quality, not the quantity.

Go look at what krustallos does with one single plant....
You can get serious volume out of 6 plants.

What you cannot get is variety or even a choice from the best of what you have available to you in your own damn seed vault.

I have hundreds, if not thousands of seeds...

I do not believe they should all be fated to die to nonviability due to restrictions on what can be used when.

Well, my health took another bad turn. Still no-one can figure out what is wrong, I haven't been able to hold down any food and barely enough liquids to survive since Tuesday night.

I haven't the energy to keep spraying and take care of my plants. The hoppers killed one yesterday. I went to water and it was laying on the ground. About 6 big branches met the same fate the last 2 days. Maybe it is just time to quitt fighting anything else and take a new trip? 5 years of fighting cancer and things no-one can figure out...i am so tiered.

But on a good note...heading into August and still no sign of scale. The boric acid and DE are keeping the ants at bay so they can't use my plants as the grazing land for their herds. I wish that i had figured out that it was the ants earlier last year...I didn't figure out till around harvest.

I am taking Green Dragon Tea, which is the RSO but with the alcohol still in it. I found that when i try to remove the alcohol i loose the potency from heating. I don't know if the alcohol might be doing this to me but i am only drinking about 2-3 shots worth a day...This is spread out since it only takes about 1/4 shot to work. And i haven't even been able to keep that down since Wednesday. If i could find a way to modify this water distiller so that it didn't get so hot maybe???

I am going to go and get a humming bird feeder and a regular bird feeder and hope. A guy i know not a block away has no hoppers and that is the only thing we can think of making a difference in our yards.

Addendum; I went to K-mart and and bought a cheep bell feeder for $3, a solid hummingbird feeder for $8, and a box of nectar mix for $2. Now i just need to figure where and how to hang them so the cats and squirrels cant get at them??? I hope this at least helps. My grow area is sealed up enough that birds and things can't get into it though, so i still have a twice daily walk through smashing hoppers to look forward to. But it is easier than chasing scale i have to admit. My health couldn't have taken that many hours this year.

doc, dry a rice cooker, slow cooker, crock pot, or something with LOW heat to evap alcohol
also, are you decarbing plant material before processing? just put it on a cookie sheet in the oven at 200 f for about 30 minutes before mixing with alcohol.

I put the herb and everclear in a mason jar and let low cook at 165 for about 8 hours in a crock pot water bath. Most of the alcohol remains (about 15% loss). So by the time i get to this point it has reached maximum extraction from the trichs and the leaf material as well as being decarbed for consumption (i hope). I take 15 ml of this in a double shot glass topped with sierra mist. Every 30 minutes i take another untill i hit where i need to be...These days it is about 4-5 before it sedates me. But i shouldn't be getting drunk from that small amount??? I normally only take this in the evenings.

You'll just be happy when the diapers are done!! I'm 5 yrs from the last diaper I changed on my youngest of 3.
