Thanks!!! My current career is computer / network stuff, sometimes comes in handy and when it doesn't get me in trouble my bonsai hobby has taught me a thing or two I can use too.
I hope I'm up to my ears in it by the time they're done!!!!!
Oh man they are really growing. I dig the gifs, very nice touch for sure. So trainwreck is a sativa?..is it pure or just sativa dom? Trainwreck is a hot commodity in my area, although Ive seen anything and everything called trainwreck here locally Commercial growers will call their shit whatever name will get them the most $$$.
Thanks! I'm no expert on trainwreck - yet - but it is supposedly a mixed pheno leaning toward sativa. There are a couple of different clone phenos from what I've read, as well as JJs S1 beans. From looking at other pics here, I think this is the Arcata cut as I got it from a club here in Norcal, looks kinda like TK's girls.
Know whatcha mean about the commercial growers... I'm so happy to have a chance to grow my own, know what I'm smokin..... But that's still a couple of months away
Hooked up my light mover last night. I didn't do it at first as it really drops the light down and I have limited height in the cab. Since I had to drop the light anyway... Should get the girls to perk up even more in week 2 flower.

I'll snap a shot tonight. It's not the Hydrofarms unit like wikidcalibudgirl got - chain driven and very close to the rail - this one puts the light mount on the motor, the motor runs on the track, and hanging from the motor is a horizontal bar to mount the light - it will be easier to see in a pic... Does the job though! Pics tonight!
Skunky Demon - welcome Thanks! Animated gifs are cool, but to document a whole grow - the gif would get pretty huge. But a couple of 'em showing flower development would be trés cool...
Did a little trimming yesterday - just the lower couple inches of the plant - ala pistilwhipped - the tiny stuff that won't see much light. It was getting mad crowded down there! Anything that could be pushed to the canopy was saved. And - I don't think I'm seeing things - the first evidence of some hairs!!!
Ok - so more tonight - until then - have a great day! :friends:
Now a quick question. I have to water the 2 biggest tonight or tomorrow night. I mixed up a tub of nutrients - 1/2 str seaweed, 1/2 str CalMagPlus, 1/2 str earth juice bloom, 1/2 str protek, 1/2 str micro blast, full str Liquid Karma. Mixed pH was expectedly low 3.2, put ppm is 1120. Am I right in thinking this is going to be too high, I was thinking more along the lines of 750. I put 2 bubblers in it to aerate and mix until I use it.
I would definately take it down to 750 like you were thinking, though its really strain dependant. I don't think my matanuska could handle 750ppms a week into 12/12, but she doesn't like to eat much in veg.
Thanks gog - from what I've read TW doesn't like a lot of nutes either, so I gotta give them less strong fast food . Now whether to dilute it or just re-mix with much less.
I'd just dilute it a little..If they haven't had a lot to eat previously...if the soil is already hot, dilute it a little more, especially if they aren't deficient right now. Some say the smoke is better in the long run(maybe not yield) if nutes are keep just above minimum. Food for thought.
Hiya packn
Thanks for your input - I actually just finished the water and shooting some pics . Given that TW is known to be a light feeder, I took a very conservative approach. I diluted it down to 450ppm, then added Hygrozyme, pHed to 6.3. Only TW1 and 3 needed water - the others maybe in a day or two, they took a slow gal each to start getting runoff. Pre water soil tests 6.7 still, runoff 6.5. If I underestimate the nutes it's easy enough to fix - they're growing so well now I'd hate to burn and stunt them...
Here's a picture of the light mover and the girls sunning - sorry about the image scale, I only have a few feet of room to take pics The rail it's on is 3.5' long.
I've noticed a difference already, gotta love that! I did another run of animated gifs, but soon the girls will be tall enough that I won't be able to get a good top shot and will put up straight shots. Height range from soil level is 9-13", the light is 9" above the tallest branches. Still pinching every day or two. Pruned the itsy bitsy stuff way down low in the crotch of lower branches - could see those will yield poorly, and air exchange above the soil layer is a good thing - at least that was my thinking. You can see that TW2 has lots of supports - using bonsai wire - it's branches were spreading way out, so I corraled them up a bit.
So far so good - Day 9 flower and all is well. It's a week tomorrow since I re-transplanted the 3 gal girls - and though they remain a bit smaller than the 5 gal plants, they are growing well daily too. Here they are in order TW1-3 in 5 gal pots and 4-6 in 3 gal pots.
Thanks! Hadn't thought about it that way . I started LST when they were around 6" tall - that and hurd snapping. Guess it works! Seriously I am very pleased with my first attempt at LST!
I don't know how much stretch they'll do - 3x would be perfect with the light mover. But with 6-10 cola's per plant they should yield ok even if a bit shorter - I hope
