Thanks for dropping by, and thanks for the look into the future! Hope mine look as good! LST plus some time - now that you mention it I can definitely see the therapeutic side of growing. :canabis:

Thanks very much for the info. I'll definitely let them wait another week, and then 1/4 strenght. Just what I wanted to know!!!

It's been a week since they've had a drink, I'll give them a sip tonight of straight water.

You might wanna PH test that soil again, i'll bet you a 10 pack of seeds its off already.

Just my 2 cents...

Good point GrowDoc! Off to the testbench I go!!!

I'm back... Had enough runoff left on 4 of the plants, all running 6.3-6.4.

What i mean is a soil PH test that can be done with your hanna PH meter.

You let the soil sample sit for 30 mins in distiled water and then test the PH of the mixture, do you understand what i am talking about?

Growdoc do you have to use distilled water or can you just use some tap water that is phed to 7.0? Im gonna have to read up on testing my soil PH Ive actually never tested it since Ive been growing.

MGJ your gonna love LST, works like a charm.

Growdoc -Ok, followup on the soil.

The soil I use when fresh pH's at 6.7. The soil in the pots that are now 13 days in veg tests at 7.2. I water them with pH 5.6 water and the runoff is around 6.3.

So now the question is, do I continue to water with pH 5.6 until they're ready for their first transplant, or is there something else I need to add to the soil? Should I add some peat moss to the soil in the future?

Thanks

Hi gog

Yup - I'm already loving the LST. The lower bud sites on all the plants are developing pretty quick even this early. I'm psyched!!! :joint:

Day 18 Veg

Day 18 Veg

:chin: Ok, Day 18 Veg, time for an update! :chin:

Last weekend I wanted to test out the cabinet before putting all the plants in it. I also wanted to hold some tomato plants until the rains are gone. So I put 2 Early Girls and 1 Carmelo tomatoes in 5 gal peat pots and slipped 'em in the cab. I also took 2 of the larger TW clones ( TW1 and TW3 ) and put them in the cab too - 3 feet from the light. That was a bit too close and after 2 days I got a little purpling and upcurl on a couple of leaves, so lowered them to 4 feet away. Left them in there all week and looks like they like it. The plants under flourescents are fully green, the 2 under the HPS 2 days ago started showing very slight yellowing at the edges of the lower older leaves, the first plants to hint for a bigger home.

My plan for these girls includes harvesting by 7/14 because I have to go out of town for a while. Since I'll need to flip them to 12/12 by next Friday, yesterday I decided to transplant the 6 strongest plants into their final pots, and water with 1/4 str nutes, and give them a week to settle into the new pots before the flip.

The 3 largest went into 5 gal pots, the other 3 went into 3 gal pots. The 2 runtiest will stay in their current pots to develop as mothers.

I'm very impressed with the effects of LST so far. Giving them a break for a couple of days before I tie 'em down again.

Now, the pictures...

This is how they look this morning after a night of light.

Will post a few more pics when they recover from the transplant.

Thanks for stopping by GOG  ! Yes, I think so too, going by the way they've been so far - exception being the runts. I'm still pinching myself that I'm not dreaming, so excited about flowering these out! -MGJ

Day 24 Veg - Need Nutes?

Day 24 Veg - Need Nutes?

 Day 24

All the girls are still growing, hardly missed a step after the transplant. I think they'll be ready to flip 12/12 Friday.

When I transplanted, I fed 1/4 strenght CalMagPlus, PBP Grow, Microblast. Some of the plants now look like they need N and MG??? Take a look at the leaves on the side and top shots of the first and third plants.

So what's the next step on the nutes - should I be conservative and feed 1/2 strenght, or stronger?

Also for flowering, I was thinking of mixing 1/2 PBP Grow and 1/2 PBP Bloom for the first 2 weeks - should I also add TopMax this early?

Thanks for looking! :friends: -MGJ

Is that a hydro grow or is there some soil underneath the top layer of perlite?

I'm definately not the authority on nutes, but when I had the pH drop out that just occured, I have been reading alot. As well my plants had that same shade as well. Looks Mg from here. CalMagPlus is 2-0-0 NPK. so you get a little N as well. Growdoc had me make up a 10% stength foliar spray to get um back real quick. I used 2mL CMP, 1mL microblast, 3ml GH Diamond Nectar(fulvic acids) per gal. Worked like a champ. noticed a difference the next day. As far as switch over sounds about right. I think it depends on the condition of the soil at that time. Mine was N surplus. So I started the transition with liquid bonemeal 0-12-0 and liquid lime Mg 4, Ca 7 (I had a ph problem, After I get enough lime in there and N drops, I'll go back to CMP, Earth Juice bloom 0-3-1. Next week 12/12 week 3, I will mostly be using PB Original 5-5-10as the main fert. Others as needed. (caution EJ drops water pH very low). After transplants think about using a little Superthrive. There are others that know far more than I do. Mine are just a little older than yours. Take a look. Go to the "Cannabis Infirmary" MyNameStitch posted a great nute guide with pic examples Link> The Complete Guide....

Doing great now. Best of luck to ya MGJ

Hiya packn  !

Thanks for the well written detailed reply! Yup - I can definitely handle a foliar feed, symptoms are only on the 2 plants that I had under HPS for a week longer than the others, my guess is because they started growing more under the intense light.

Yes - Superthrive is the shit. This is one plant additive I know a bit about from doing bonsai. If I'm after root growth in a developing bonsai ( which I do *not* want to get as big as my maryjanes :biglaugh: ), and I want to be gentle, I just put 2 drops in whatever container I'm using for watering. I haven't played with it at double strenght like Bog, but in small doses I've found it great for transplant shock and also to help a sick plant get well... Love the stuff!

Hey - nice shots of your girl!!! Definitely green'ed up nicely and grew big  !

How did you measure the N in your soil? I can see that might be a handy thing to do!

Thanks dude! :friends:
