Congratulations on advancing on your learning curve.

Read Anderson and then you tell me what you think....

One thing for sure. I suck at interpreting Reams. Throw me a crumb. Who can help me get it
not me. you're way ahead. i'm still figuring out how to trellis. Maybe when you figure out all this biochemistry stuff you can give me the cheat codes to grow perfect plants every time

big wildfire over across the mountains by my house. started last night and by tonight it's grown to 12,000 acres with zero containment. It's at least 25 miles away but right now it's dark out and i can see the mountain glowing bright orange like never before, i cant imagine the hell on the other side. I have some friends who are on a hotshot crew in the area and have to hike into places like that and clear fire breaks, seriously some of the toughest people i know.

sunset in the smoke. i swear it almost looked like there was a rainbow. a smokebow:

i'm starting to think maybe i just expect things to improve at an unrealistic pace. it's hard to see change when it takes years, and without persistence it would be impossible.

I have a hard time relaxing because I put so much effort into things and can be pretty hard on myself when they dont go as expected. I like to set unrealistic goals to see how far i can really push myself.

Just had a conversation at the gym about how some people will go through life so determined to accomplish something that they forget to stop for anything else in the meantime, thats me for sure tunnel vision to the bigger picture.

My uncle's last name was Murphy and he used to always remind me "that anything that can go wrong will and at the worst possible time." Had a big wood plague on the wall that said it to.

Still though, its hard to deny nature, i dont know if its persistence or masochism at this point anymore lol.

Too many people want rapid change or a quick fix and if they dont see things working right away (often while ignoring advice) they will just move on to the next supposed solution to their problems

In psychology they call that instant gratification, i saw a good quote kinda similar to this in mean mr.mustard's signature a few days ago.

"People seldom do what they believe in. They do what is convenient, then repent."
- Bob Dylan

I'm not that young i'll be 30 next month but still feeling vigorous, must be all the primo ganja.

Same guys, its about 20 miles from my place! lots of ash falling, but i think the plants are enjoying the additional C02 in the air...

Be safe everyone... the evacuation advisories are starting to creep closer and closer to town...

Community meeting at the high school at 6pm with calfire

hoping your farther down the hill schrews... I'd much rather have it happen now then mid flower when it will kill the smell and totally F the buds up

I learned recently that broken glass causes alot of wildfires, it magnifies the sunlight against dry grass and brush. Cigarette butts thrown out of car windows too, crazy how destructive one persons ignorance can be.

Attached a chart comparing california wildfires caused by people (orange) vs lightning (grey).

People are responsible for causing almost 42 times as many wildfires, and almost 45 times as many acres of land burned.

Up untill this season when I just got sick of being in fire camps and using blue rooms, I was a dozer operator on many fires. Year before last I spent a month and a half on the Trinity. From my experience the USFS pays no attention to your grows. In fact the dozer lines I put in , in order to protect their property , many times included putting a line around their crops. There were more sheriffs there then I had ever seen on fires. When telling growers to evacuate they seemed to get resistance , as the growers, didnt want to leave their crops unattended. The Government brought in the sheriffs to protect peoples property from looters /thiefs. Sheriffs had no interest in tearing crops up .. they were just there to help protect peoples property. Hope this adds a little reassurance .. that they really are there to put the fires out... and in my experience dont have any interest in bothering your crops.
