You have killed the microbe life in that soil by letting them dry out. Get a tea or some Tainio in there asap...or just feed them bottled nutes. It is incredibly important to keep a mix as light as BG damp at all times.

wait, they're in coots mix from last year not BG. its a pretty heavy mix. and they got rained on last night...The soil is drying out a bit now but i dont want to overwater, i watered them 2 days ago but i guess they could use it again

i called AEA yesterday but didnt realize their hours are so weird so i will try again monday
You slowed them down a little but I'd say they are going to be just fine.
i hope you're right!

Shcrews, what happened exactly? I want to make sure it doesn't happen to me lol. Did water pool or Did wind catch the plastic and yank a hoop off the rebar?
:yeahthats or just a little reinforcement and cross members (sorry I have an Architectural Drafting and Cad /Cam degree) might have helped!

Man we got some serious rain and wind even here in the 831 brah...
if you anchor the plastic with concrete blocks or large rocks it will keep it from blowing away as long as the openings are 90-95% closed. Any reinforcement like adding a baseboard on both sides and overhead support will only help. Greenhouse is basically a solar heater if the sun is out, have to juggle temp management somehow. Maybe put up a fence section or two to take the worst of prevailing winds. I've never used pvc but have made several out of metal conduit that I bend.
sorry to hear Shrews. A little gorilla tape to connect the pvc to the rebar helps a lot. good luck
Damn that fucking sucks! Hoop houses can be built very sturdy they were first used in like kansas [?] where the wind and rain is intense. I cant believe my crackhouse is still standing honestly. I would use some rope to tie and stake the other one down. I've used 2'x4's and 2x2's screwed into the top of the pvc too for more support.
thanks guys, duly noted. i think the real lesson here is that i shouldnt be building things by myself when it matters!:thank you::laughing:

My bad on the BG. Cootz is still a really lightweight mix. If you read Coot you will see he uses a bluemat and keeps the top damp.

That is because microbes do not like a lack of water in these weight soils. And looking at your plants they lack everything, from N to Ca and all the rest. They are not taking up nutrients.

You have to get the microbes alive again.

Here is a picture of my cattle panel GH. Its been 5 years standing with zero probs and my spot is insanely windy. It was about $600 all together and a couple days work.

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

I live by the above quote when it comes to projects that determine my livelihood.

Fuck man my biggest fear. My greenhouse was reaching the 100+ up to like 116. I knew I had to put some ventilation in there. Every morning I go to pull the tarp and I have in the back of my head a bunch of dried and fuck up seedlings. Hope everything works out bro!!!

Sorry to see this, but I think u can get them back to health in the next 10 days. You need to feed them a good source of N, CA, and a little mg. Bottle feed heavy for two feedings and Goliath feed the hell out of them during the next 10 days. Be extra careful and do not overwater, the foliar feeds help keep the plant fed. I personally would go get a bottle of advanced nutrients Iguano juice grow, and a bottle general organics CA and get them back to health asap. it appears the soil does not have adequate food sources and the cold weather slowed the growth down almost halting growth. Plant food and warm root temps will bounce them back. I do not believe your plants looked fried in any way, just starved of food. Good luck this season, you'll still crush it

bad luck ..
you should check the ph of the soil . high temp could have changed it . result in a bad feeding . .
but i think they will just go fine now.

pvs is good for green house but it you squeezed it too much. make it bigger if you can .

I agree, slow growth for a week then back to normal.
Should make the really strong ones stand out.
With your skills I doubt there will be much weight difference at harvest.

Shcrews- if you wanna keep using that hoop house, just frame out the ends to be safe. 2 pieces of lumber to go the width on the ground on each end. connected into pvc/wood on the corners. 4 more (2x4)s to go vertically and 4 t post. you will end up with a door on each end. put the t post just inside the edge of the hoop house parallel to one another as wide as a normal door. tie the (2x4s) vertically into the piece of wood on the ground and then fasten them to the T posts with zip ties or bailing wire. then with a scrap piece of wood make a cross member to join at the top. its pretty much a 2x4 with the top corners cut out to fit into the crossmember. it finishes the top part of the door frame. I had some hoop houses destroyed in the wind already this yr. (luckily no plants in them) and I think I am in your neck of the woods. we did this modification and we are holding up good in the strong winds. and actually looking back at the pictures, you need some runner boards on the outsides to keep the pvc from flexing and popping off/it will help weight it down and to connect to the frame ends as well. good luck!
