Ca is not mobile in a plant. It will not move to the growing bud from the plant. You have to supply it all the way til the end. So if your fans are yellowing, it is raining and you ain't fpliar feeding Ca...bud roy

Could u elaborate milky??? Like what do u use for Ca supp in your foliar at the end of flowering???? I'm curious because this could help me out alot, I haven't had horrible bud rot problems in the paSt but it does cause headaches. So any info from knowledgeable people is helpful.

It is exactly the same thing as blossom end rot in tomatos. It can be avoided with Ca/B just like it is in that case. If you look under Father Earth and hunt he posted some links to the work of Hortinova/Nova Crop Control/an AEA seminar. They give a great explanation of mobility of different things. Foor whatever reason I cannot find the link. Maybe FE will share one more time.

As far as what to use there are probably plenty of things...Cep linked a sprayable Ca Silicate product that would be good. AEA sells a humic chelated Ca that is good. Albion or JH Biotech (I think) sell amino chelated Ca. Any of those will work

You want to avoid nitrate at that point though...so no CaNO3, Cal Mags, anything like that.

Personally I use AEA Photomag, CaPHT, sea crop and micros all the way to the harvest. But that is just me...more than one way to skin the cat depending on what you prefer.

I'm trying the silicate product this year. I'll wait for results before I fully endorse it. The Albion and JH biotech products, being amino chelated, come with N no? Where does that N go once the plant uses the Calcium? Albions product is my main one though, its claimed to be mobile.

It comes with the amino glycine which I do not believe can be converted to nitrate.

But yea...that question is exactly why I chose to finish with the humic chelated product. I use albion earlier on because I believe it more effectively moves through the plant

what do you guys think about all the silicic acid products hitting the market, similar to or copying Aptus fasilitor. they have orthosilicic acid, molybdenum, boron and potassium…supposed to help upward movement of available nutrients.

Why the k? It is ksil, sodium moly, some sort of B and marketing aimed directly at people that were stoned in school...would be my opinion. I do admire the balls it takes to make the claims though...then again I enjoyed wolf of wall st

Thanks for taking the time to answer milky I appriciate it. Ill try and find the links under Father earth's postings to that crop control an AEA seminar info, I'll look into sum AEA products as well.

I've heard of them but only from you guys that grow on the west coast, being from Michigan I want sure if it was readily available. I checked there site once but dident check on being able to order. If not I'm sure I'll be able to find sum amino chelated ca from the 2 other sources u mentioned.

The strengthening El Niño in the Pacific Ocean has the potential to become one of the most powerful on record, as warming ocean waters surge toward the Americas, setting up a pattern that could bring once-in-a-generation storms this winter to drought-parched California.

I was trying to quote this and accidentally pushed the like button.

Why don't you check out Shcrews 2014 grow techno he gets by just fine. That is a fact, so no need to tell the man how to do things unless your bringing something significant to the table.
