LED Grow Lights Kill A Watt

LED Grow Lights Kill A Watt

Always, always, love another good LED thread. I have no idea how I didn't notice this diary earlier, glad I looked at your sig lol!

Have you Kill-A-Watt'd these lights yet? This has probably been answered already :(

I have done kill a watt readings of all the panels that I have used for veg as well as flower. All of that is within this thread but I also have video showing the pics of the running wattage of the panels.

For these 5 flower panels they all are in the 300 to 400 running watts range each. The panels are 180x3w and 200x3w models and each has its own spectrum which growblu needed help testing.

I think your grow show is going great as well btw and I also checked out your youtube channel and everything is growing great over there it seems.

Sending positive growers karma your way brother

GENERAL UPDATES:

Here is my next soil mix that I will be testing out - btw get the CHUNKY not this bag.... I can't stand these little pebbles, it reminds me of the bean bag chair stuffing which gets everywhere and IF you water it, you know it will just float up and out of the container.... don't order supplies while medicated

Here are some of the new cut clones in their new mix

Here is a wider shot of the veggers

I just loved this shot and had to upload it ( love the colors leds give off in pics especially in the background )

I know the lbk is a work in progress as are most strains in pre-release or for testing purposes. I would love to see how this years seeds compared to the last I tested as well. I have taking plenty of clones to make sure the lbk doesn't leave my garden this time.

The kushy haze btw is growing great as well, it is more sat than the lbk ( obviously ) and looks like it is going to produce some decent budsites so excited to see how they compare to each other overall.

No matter what though, you can't go wrong with the Lady Berry Kush from Field Marshall Seeds and glad I got you to get em in the ground and get em growin :tiphat:

LED Marijuana Updates

LED Marijuana Updates

attachment.php

Here are some pics I took last night, some of the girls are pretty much done but I want them to dry out and color up a bit more as I pushed them a bit hard at the end there and want to make sure a good flush happens and all the hairs finish up and making sure to wait for all the budswell to finish.

attachment.php

I move the mylar dividers when working in the different areas to allow for more room for my big ass LOL
attachment.php

I think from all the different phenotypes that I grew within this first cycle I will only keep one phenotype which is the Jackpot Royale #4 BUT can't make that decision until after they hang/dry/cure because its the meds abilities that I care about first BUT if I can get quality meds in under 9 weeks ( clones versus seed ran are faster ) versus a 10 week pheno as long as there isn't too much of a loss in yield then I am fine with it.

attachment.php

Yields are important to me but I am not a cash cropper so commercial dreams are not in my future BUT having the ability to maximize my garden area and working towards improving my own personal results however is something important to me AND is a ton of fun to test different things out anyways.

Here is that keeper of mine, still have to see how she smokes but I think I am in love LOL

Great job man, they look ill !
Can't wait to see this round's final reports...
Peace, HJ.

Thank you for the kind words and I too can't wait until this rounds girls all come down, hang dry and get some dry grams per plant numbers. I want to track my progress over the next years grows with these panels and see how I improve.

OOOOOOOOO, when the weed hit you eye,

THAT"S AMORE!!!!!!!

heheh...you're in love and I'm jealous...:D

Well who knows when I get to my "pollen chucking" projects in 2013/2014 there might be a ton of beans sent in as freebies for all to enjoy. I only would send in regular beans though as I don't work female lines ( or try my best not to as some lineage on strains is "iffy" at best lol ).

I am diggin this jackpot royale #4 but still waiting to see how the rest of the phenos fill out and finish out and see if they get me smiling as well. Now they all have decent yields, dense nugs etc but there is just something different about the JR#4's.

Anyone who has grown from seed and spotted that keeper knows what I mean and odds are you do too vukman. I however have a ton of other great gear being ran right now that might give it a run for its money so time will tell.

GENERAL UPDATES:

I am going to be tossing my keeper JR#4's that are in clone into bigger pots and get some moms going of them. I want to be able to take a ton of cuts and see about blowing up all of these led panels 2x4 grow areas in the next cycles.

Might as well run what you know grows great buds and makes you smile right? As more keepers are found, they will be added to the ones being cloned in higher numbers.

I can't wait to see how each grow light did yield wise when comparing the grams per plant harvest numbers. Since there are more girls only a few weeks behind these, there will be plenty more pictures and video of the cycle #2, cycle #3 and even cycle #4

Heya mate
This is a wonderful show and test thread. It´s a great inspiration for many people. First grow with LED Technology, which can be compared with HPS. Watching Ladyberrykush and Kushy´Haze that look perfectly.
Your favorite LBK on flower looks wonderfully. I think it can be a very good combination of parents. What is the smell of your LBK?
With me again predominant earthy-mushroom aromas with acid blueberry aftertaste. This is the original fragrance of TrueBlueberry that have too much.
Your Kushy´Haze will yield champ. I think that you're the best growth. When selecting mothers would searched pheno with large and dense buds. Scent should be a spice - metal and touches of tropical fruit. I believe that you will find the best for yourself.
Here's a few shots of my favorite LBK and frosty bud´s of Kushy´Haze.

oooooh.....that sawtooth is like a malawi on roids, love it. diablo's hierba

I think 2013 should be the year of the hobby grower / closet grower etc. How is it not already. How many people just state-side can suffice from run after run on 1 to 2 light setups? absolutely amazing Med!

Then vuk is doing the engineering on his own I presume, gonna have to read up on it, only skimmed so far, sorry vuk. I gave up for this semester, I was doing some research and keeping up, but organic chemistry is kicking my ass and into next term.

Thanks for sharing.
Ciao.

There are still plenty of other cycles in line behind these including another cycle which includes ( currently in veg ) the Poison Genetics Casey's Cousin x Sour Diesel IBL which I am excited to see how she grows.

I will be putting the Poison Genetics updates here as well as the other 3 strains that germinated and vegged with them. I am finishing up some up potting to clear up some space so I can get them pulled out to get some pics of them and how they are doing.

The Casey's Cousin x Sour Diesel IBL from Poison Genetics are growing great so far and really hope to have a few females to check out to locate that keeper. Can't wait to see how they do once in flower.

How is the all blue veg light working? I've been thinking about getting one to replace my T5, but it still seems a little strange that its completely blue.

How is the all blue veg light working? I've been thinking about getting one to replace my T5, but it still seems a little strange that its completely blue.

I second that, hows the blue light veg?

The blue veg lights have done great over my aeroponic cloner as well as germinating seeds ( once I ironed out the height needed per panel ) pretty damn well. For vegging the girls up to flower height, they did well and it seemed to help spot the males and their stretch while keeping the girls pretty stout. I think I need to test more sat leaning strains and see how they grow veg wise under all blue leds though.

More testing to come in 2013 and I have alot of plans ahead to help improve my grows. I love the growth and the lack of heat or less heat compared to other light options I have grown with.

I think the only thing that I can gripe about is not being able to spot deficiencies under the blue light. I do think that is just normal when growing under leds whether blue, red, purple etc especially when coming from a life of hps growing and being able to spot every spot, bug, blemmish on the plants even if the color the hps put off is a bit orange overall.

After a couple veg cycles, I have been able to spot any plant issues while in veg and now am working on that in flower as well and trying to dial them all in.

I still have my back up biax veg setups and even some 1k mh ready but for Cali temps especially in the summer I think led is the way to grow.

As far as the veg panels not having reds or others wavelength, I can't see the need to have them from the growth I see but if I wanted to get a single grow light I would obviously get a full spectrum or one that is switchable from veg to bloom.

I need to pull out some of my other light sources and do watt 2 watt tests in 2013 I think. I never tested my quantums, lumis or other ballasts on kill a watt meters before and it would be fun to see them actually compete in equal sized grow areas with LEDs.

I think these tests will be done closer to next winter so I can have less temp issues compared to summer runs indoors.

How much longer my friend?? Week 9 already..time is just flying by... I've been reading so many threads I can't remember if you've started flushing them yet or not?

I can't wait to see them buds in 'natural' light. I know what you mean about the fact that you get used to viewing them a certain way. In your case..........and mine.........under HPS light with that amber glow. Then again, as you stated as well, your eyes adjust and you just know.

I think I've actually gotten to a point where feeling the leaves tells me quite a bit as well. I've still got my hi-powered LED flashlight just in case I do spot something out of the ordinary but it's amazing what you can get used to if you want to......or have to.;)

Keep up the great work my friend..

Keep up the great work my friend..

Some have started their flush and others have gotten their last dose of nutes at the end of the 8th week as some seem to be longer runners than others.

They all should be cut n hung within the next few days but first to dry up and then sit in a dark spot for 2 days and then they get the chop.

I hope your grow is doing great as well! Loving the diy and commercial light hybrid lighting.

Run what you brung and who needs the sun
