Love the PP- I don't know how it got the " weight, but no quality" rep. Finished properly, it can be as good as any reasonable commercial cultivar out there.

Sometimes it seems that people associate finicky with quality- no reason that has to be. Maybe it's because breeders chasing potency have really narrowed the gene lines that they're working with.

Whenever I hear folks raving about this strain or that strain, I'm reminded-

Princess (the mom that C99 was backed out of) was a bagseed.

I'll take an easy grow over a name-brand grow every time- and the PP really seems to have it all.

But, yeah, ... they'll eat. First time I ran 'em I thought my meters were f%cked up.

Well, don't get me wrong.....I don't know about general consensus...was only my impression...ie: Good yield, good quality....ie "average"...."regular".....

I wouldn't even say "commercial", as, this is what I meant......I expected such....but quality was far beyond what I expected....lot of them got pretty white also as they were left as long as they should be.....so....very dense....very solid......(where yield came from, at least for me....)

Some of them? (a lot)...I mean....I'm truly surprised (pleasantly)...quality just impressive......truly.....(for what it is/supposed to be, etc......)

Guess my point is I never expected it to be really nice ...and, it is.........

Earlier in season before I finally did what I did and what and where I did.....thought about doing the Sour Diesel/Power Plant cross for future stock.....now that I see quality....wish I would have.....

Yeah...it "delivered".........for me.....truly....wish I would have run 5 x more of them...(this was just a "test tun" to try it out....I actually never ran it before....because of course I shied away due to my perceived quality issues....wish I would have run it long before this....)

(Note: Last yr, in and out's was BOG Sour Bubble, all clones, everywhere ...indoor, city spots, large out op...etc....yr before, 2 yrs ago, was a lot of special BB crosses (Big bud, for yield......and, very good yr at that...of course, a lot of other things because I am always trying more and more and different things, etc.....) I usually do a lot of different things, which goes back to earlier.......different things, different times, different issues...ie: spreading everything out so no one event or condition hurts you too much....everything still comes through regardless of whatever happens to some plants, some spots, etc....

(ie: I'm not spending the yr doing something to end up with nothing....no ****in way....so....another reason why I do what I do, how I do,etc........relating to the above topics...risk/reward, etc.....

But, yeah, ... they'll eat. First time I ran 'em I thought my meters were f%cked up.

Ehhh........Like I said...chronic overfeeder, so...I don't use meters anyway (ppm/TDS, etc) I just "go by eye".......and, I push em.....believe me ....I push as much, as far as I can...always.......everything ....(I start light, and work it up and up and up and up until I see unfavorable signs beginning and then back off to last before negative effects and stick with that but then keep working it depending on stage (early veg, late veg, early flower, late flower, etc...and, of course, the thing I always tell people which I have to remember myself is diet dependent on all factors, so....this yr had a lot of stuff that just went over the top...(size wise)...so.......I let loose on those ****ers 10+ footers...especially if extremely heavy....they eat serious amounts.....

Several, what might seem to be random comments and ramblings, but, all leading somewhere, I assure you ....

So, when I first grew, started growing...the motivation and understanding and position(s) I have now were not yet known.....(not by a long shot...)

Of course, for someone into green, who dabbles in green, it doesn't make sense not to grow.....ie: Why would you want to buy and sell, when you could make it and sell......akin to the old "show me someone who pays 5k a p and I'll show you someone who should be making it....(of course, assume 100-200 per p...what is typical, and, you would have to move 300 to make the same amount as growing 10....etc.......and, multiply numbers all the way up....)

Now...I don't know about anyone else, but, moving 300 is infinitely more risky than growing and dropping 10.......no comparison...so, simple economics........(call it 30 weeks at 10 a week to start on the low end...or even lower 5 a week for 60 weeks...or 20 a week for 15 weeks.........20 /15 a little less risk than the others...but...again...compared to a single batch yielding 10????? C'monnnnnnnnn....can't get safer than a single moderate batch (10....call it a nice 6k more or less.....)

On a similar note?....I love in....I really do, but, the exposure compared to out is better for many reasons...my favorite being the break between seasons (or every two season(s).........As above, when moving things...your talking risk....so, in other words...when only growing, you stick to certain times of the year/several times a year when you move and the rest of the year....nothing...(referring to the chance one comes under scrutiny...surveillance, etc..........(ie: from a third parties view......for me?......9 months or so out of the year.....good luck........your not getting anything on me......nothing to see....nothing to hear......and, because I change up projects year to year to a degree...(or, every 2, etc)....again...good luck...(ie: what?...your going to sit on me despite any clear evidence of anything for 6 months...12 months...more?......

I don't think so .....

(Because, who knows ...I might just switch it up and run some indoors quick instead of some outs (which have less partners and help, so, less expenses, splits, etc...)

So, again....I like out for the reasons above..(among endless other reasons...........)

Also of note is I am mildly disappointed because I am now finding out as we move further into everything that I took far too good care of, and, was far to generous with many people.......(one person I gave them 50lbs more than I thought I did.............another about 10-20 more...another around there also............ie: people who helped out, etc, etc.....tossed em more and more and more and went a little over what I thought....plus, left a lot at end, so......)

Which comes into play again issues about what you want ,($$) what you need.....etc, etc....

It's nice to be able to give people deals.......(because, frankly...most cool people do eventually anyway..., so...they budget for one thing and after all is said and done end up with less than their targets because they were too generous........so...I always thought , again...something to factor in to your targets......)

It's nice to ask people what they want to pay (and then beat that by 200 a p ).....but, again...have to figure all in budget..(and personal...etc...so...from my pov....you have ps, you have deals, and then you have what you unload at fair price......(3 different...., but, then, for me...after I have reached the absolute highest level of indulgence :...I end up doing all my "ps" for "special deals" anyway......sure, I start out wanting high...but then the bug eats away at me....there's cheap,then reasonable....then "fair"...then "high"....and then "fukkkkkkkkk you" (prices)

On a different note....(same, different, whatever..... started sampling some BOG today to see if rollable and burnable, and, definitely is ....)......Anyway...was talking about trimming, and, did somewhat of an experiment (trimmed from Sunday/Monday am until Thursday....throwing all to side, then Thursday took a break and bagged everything up. This is half of total (other half is drawer above it) from 4.5 days trimming just my ps by hand...think it's around 20....25 or so.......which is not bad I think for less than 5 days, BUT,...it was of course all big, nice solid stuff....(a lot easier and quicker without anything small/loose/etc.........and I did do one 48hr run in the process....so........and...........have been trimming already since early August (10 weeks of practice)......so....

Other notes would be, mentioned here or sister was regarding my "being done".......I think, at least "until further notice" I am definitely "out".....not even going to finish trimming my ps....got everything away from me, handed it off to someone else for a split to finish and drop off when and where I tell them and not going around the bulk trimming, shut down and cleaned veg center, one trimming place...(That I was at several times...).......all because I "got a feeling"...."felt something" this week..........which, of course, what I preach is never to ignore such........

Some would call that paranoid.......even over the top paranoid......but, a. They do not sit in my chair.....(I like that better than the "shoes" phrase , and, b. That's why I am still here ......25+/- yrs without a grow related bust......in volume...and, what is "volume"?...well, I think my ps from a single week (****, not even, 4.5 days) is above...so...August to January....non stop, just for ps.......well....anyone can do the math... (****....I've probably given away 200+ in last month or 2, not including the small stuff we left out there.........some of it I would not have....was getting carried away with generosity....so ....what can ya do.........might be more than I wanted, but, such goodwill goes a long way into the future, and, buys a lot of safety and favors........(I think as above...all should budget for such when doing volume........I know someone who is very selfish, very greedy...high prices........etc....guys on borrowed time........just a matter of time before he either gets traded in....cleaned out.....or worse........

Goodwill priceless...worth every penny spent on it........

Anyway......got a little spooked this week.......so.....what most would consider an insignificant event(s).....

But I know better .....

(How do I know? ..........you pay attention...........most people pay more attention to what car is behind them (worthless anyway for the most part) instead of who is next to them in the store........who stops them and asks them for directions.......who approaches them while out......who calls their business....applies for jobs.....women....etc...whatever...)

ie: If you have a problem or developing problem....you will most likely never see any firm indication.......

But......you will "feel" something....

Which would bring us full circle right back to start of thread....I think most unable to imagine the little I had said and displayed, and exactly how much heat comes with that alone...let alone giving even more.......

Also backtracking a little.....in regard to time management........(bear with me.....)

Now.........we talk about business's...side business's...etc......and, of course....I have to answer to (in a minor way) many about my time..(family, any women I see at the time, etc....business matters, etc.......and, since I will not be doing the large location anymore, well, how it's done is this:

In the past I usually do those on weekends, when I can get away, so...for example...for family?...it might be as easy as saying "I'm going to be really busy tomorrow....so...", and then, let's say taking off Friday night at like 1-2-3am.....on site by 5-6+/- am....finished and back by say 6-10pm that night........

I was out...business, errands.....stuff to do ..

Can be reworked to fit any situation....city spots easier because less time..(can do anytime after sundown...any day of week when needs to be...when planting very simple because time is minimal.....ie: time to go plant.......I try to never visit, and time to cut, etc...all minimal time spend...cumulative also.....)

When I schedule everything...(whatever...family, girls, work, etc) I try to keep times I need open.....will vary a little, and, sometimes if I have a clear day I even hit them (large, far) during the week when able....Sometimes easy also because of course sometimes I get extremely busy during the week (24/7), so, can always use "eh, got a lot of shit to do this weekend...bust this week, no time, etc....)

What you can, when you can, how you can, where you can......

Again....the concept and what makes easier is in general always shooting for no maintenance.......you don't want to be there, and, if done right, you don't have to be there........so.......for the most part....summer? at a minimum...get in and plant, that's that, make a quick heck if you have time of other things.....and, done and gone........planting , even in bulk, quick and simple if a system and done right...(I use the drills, pre mixed, and several people working, so.....10-12hrs...a lot can be accomplished......then, later batches, less.....again, quick and easy and can get out, plant, get back frankly before anyone knows I was even gone in the first place (usually the case...no one really ever knows what I am doing or where I am when I am visiting...because, as above...I schedule it that way......

I do of course have other people which makes it easier, so...another bonus, is , no single person really has to be every week (except from start.....for bulk of planting...small plantings might be just "eh, I'll get out there and do them quick, no need for you guys to all waste the time.....

Some further commentary on partners?
One partner is different from several....(and, I know quite a few here and working with several "smoke:.....) To me?....several actually more desirable than one...because, with any issues?....it's not a 50-50 issue....decision, etc.......ie: I guess what I am trying to say is it helps out with "checks and balances ....I'm not the only one watching ......several watching me...we're watching you, they're watching them........actually helps to control things a lot, and, as far as "the right team"? Well, I was having this discussion this week....and.......the right team?....man, when it is? you ****in know it ....it's obvious...you feel it......it feels "right".......

The right group of people....with the right mindsets.......common beliefs and behavior.......etc....anything is possible..........(but, again...you have to have people of strong character....or, doesn't work.....ie: confrontation, speaking your mind, firm on beliefs and position......so as to keep any one "in line".......

Which goes back to a "deal"......a handshake......your "word"........greed........self centered...etc.......

Lost my train of thought, but, in short, yeah, I actually find it easier to work with several than with one........seems to keep everyone in line......also seems to strengthen your position in general (ie: you want to steal?...your not stealing from one...your stealing simultaneously from 5-10+ people....).......

Of humor would be I'm glad to start to settle down a little, because my fridge I have been told is funny... a fast food dream...(I always order extra, so...my fridge lately is like......KFC.....Quizno's....Pizza...Chinese food.....Philly steaks.....steak burrito's , etc, etc)

Even more amusing I is I was recently pulled over (late night food run..maybe 3-4am....and I was so ****in high from nice stuff and scissor and finger that I almost told him "I've been trimming for days" ...(some thing like "I've been ttt..........you know...working for days, busy week, catching up on paperwork tonight, etc" )

Few more examples of mini's btw....(What?...you think I tell you guys everything? ..I might have 20 little things going not worth mentioning because small op's ....) Good example of spots btw.....these are part of one spot.....not enough sun (I knew it when they were planted.......yield a little lower than I anticipated....expected maybe 1/2 each......****....might only get 1/4-1/2 each.....thank god for numbers Was expected though, not a surprise and as elsewhere above, kind of gets cancelled out anyway.........in overall end total...just nice stuff....

(On that note.....verdict is starting to come in........track spots #1 quality again in blind taste tests of about 20 people .... Tracks win again, hands down (they always do...always...)

On a completely different note......(but something funny) is regarding "Weeds"...(The cable/Showtime series)....

I know, I know, I know.....don't want to turn it into a weeds topic.....I tell people it's a "cute" show......Not real...not serious.....pretty inaccurate overall...etc......Someone recently asked me about it and my reply was "It's about California Growers"....and, upon my hearing my own statement, was reminded, yet again, how inadequate it is.....

(I have actually been trying to push here and there the idea of a show about growers......know as far as 5-6 yrs ago...but a real show...(ie: The Wire....real, true, etc, shot on location in real rooms with real plants in favorable countries.....ie: You film what you need to at different location, those scenes requiring such, and then just come back home and shoot everything else, etc.....)

Personally? I think it would be a lot bigger than "cute" show, but, whatever...(I still do now and then in the right company...but, we're talking major funds needed, support.....source be it cable/film (outlet....etc, )

I digress..... (and what's ****in new)

Anyway...to those who remember sister thread.....I really got a kick out of him saying/asking/talking about the "free food".. "Let me ask you something? Do you get food? Free food?......I ate xxx today, etc, etc" That was definitely the real deal...

(And, economically sound..... I talked about 1 yr....I must have gotten about 50k in food and drink during the yr from giving away...like.....2 p's of ps Not an exaggeration.....1/4 here...1/8th there, etc...one time I remember bill should have been about 1200 for night (food and drinks) ....bill came back at like.....280 or something (1k off a single day, let alone rest of yr ....) Not to mention other barter....(one of my buddies just got a brand new in crate 5 ton a/c unit for a q'per they get snowmobiles, atv's, all those for pennies......) I do stuff too like for contractors/subs, etc......

Anyway.......

I hope some found something of use.....see thing in a different way...a new light, etc......

If I say I am going to do something you can consider it done. Hell even the handshake isn't around as much as it used to be. I like myself a good handshake. You got to get in there with that handshake, pretty firm, but don't strain yourself there tough guy...Don't grab too early and just get my fingers either....you know a nice firm 2-3 second shake.

My world?...people talk about the risk of cash deals and such I haven't made a cash exchange in........probably since I was a kid....

ie: I toss you something....you get back to me as it comes back in and take it off the balance and next rounds as needed with running balance, so...very simple to get everything away fairly quick......divide it up and say where it goes and that's that.....nowadays...basically just spend my breaks from now on "doing the rounds".....(ie: hanging out with people....before end of night, hand em car keys......then later...pop trunk and take it out ....)

Amen my friend....amen.....as in other thread....and, one a while before that somewhere about similar.......serves several purposes........A. Your taking care of people and yourself in process....B. Get it out there and new sources are "developed"............... (sure, today a q.....becomes z's...becomes q'pers, etc......you just stop it where you want to ....ie: If ones total take is 5 p's...of course....best off doing z's slow for most money.....etc......if 100...might want to go to 1-2 at a time for as much as you can, etc...wouldn't want to drop 20-50 a time if only 100, be out in a couple weeks and then that's that.....

(Now, I know...I have a rant how people say "it's all free to you anyway", and how it pisses me off, and **** them, and this and that, and all the expenses and cumulative hrs and risk...but, truth be told?......

This thread has definitely been an interesting read, despite the UTTER LACK OF PICTURES...

My sincere thanks to Julian and all those who have contributed to this thread. It's been a fun read, a ton of useful information in here if you bother to look. I have a feeling this is one of those threads I could come back and read a year or two from now and still find something useful that I didn't notice the first time through. Or didn't have enough experience to pick up on.

My sincere thanks to Julian and all those who have contributed to this thread. It's been a fun read, a ton of useful information in here if you bother to look. I have a feeling this is one of those threads I could come back and read a year or two from now and still find something useful that I didn't notice the first time through. Or didn't have enough experience to pick up on.

.....I would never let anyone who hands me money hear me say it (as above), but, yeah man..I mean....it is all free anyway...ya know? ....

("Free" to me is anything above my "target"....I mean...I want what I want ($$) , need what I need, and, realistically?.....to me, I could give away everything over my target if I wanted to.........I need what I need to make me feel "satisfied"......what I consider "a proper reward" for effort and risk....so....why I get a little flexible and generous.....as long as I get what I want,........everything over target, doesn't matter..(and, frankly...anyone can use that for any size and amount...guy who wants and needs 10 and gets 15...guy who needs and wants 20 and gets 30.....all the way up the line.....)

Regarding the above, there are things I like more, and things less, and things which I handle, and things which I try to have others handle...

I try to only do what I like most.....(example: There is nothing more I hate then cutting down the small stuff and bullshit....just won't do it...would rather give it away than do it )

Now....all relates..people in partnerships, etc......

You focus on ones strengths......

(The hash guy a perfect example.....he showed a talent, enjoyed it...so...everything went to him and he got greater share of that.....(I enjoy it, but, hard ass work in volume...........very long and tedious shit...I always made it myself....)

I have to ask ... can we leave this in place for a while? I really cant read it enough.

Edit: I like good watches (recommend to all)...good watch.....can last 100 yrs..(truly....pres. introduced in 30's (I think)...people still wearing the same models today...) Values increase on many, etc.....can be passed on.....if you get used really lose no value (can gain, etc)....none really as much as people think they are.....could pick up that one for maybe 8k......(new models?...who knows...) Not a horological expert..(whatever ..little knowledge ...)

and just about time for a new one because it's starting to give me away to people who see all pics ....

the comments usually go:...."Baby shit/BOG/xxx, etc???"......."nice watch"...."every hear of IC?"

The reason I put pictures in links is due to content...and connections....sometimes long to load just the text.....

Pictures (and most are large...minimally reduced size) would triple or more time to load pages....

Gave a friend a QP Friday to give to a friend of his. He works hard is paying child support and can't really afford to buy weed. My friend said he was just blown away by the gift. He'll remember being gifted that for a long time I reckon and I won't really miss it (small part of a nice haul).

Edit: I pretty much, as always, write off anything smaller from the start, and, that's pretty much where it ends up, because, I don't really want it anyway......actually hurts more than it does good (I don't touch it if small....slows everyone else down, etc......takes manpower away, inefficient, low dollar, etc.....just not practical........) Depends though...BOG SB for example?....I keep, high dollar, my ps, etc, I keep everything.....I just don't trim it (small stuff) myself....so..

Let me get another question off before the thread dies though....im living, renting, in a very small house, valued at less than 50k for certain, maybe 35....thing is its zoned for commercial...i could extend walls/rooms and do a lot of stuff, but the property is right next to a commercial division, cant be rebuilt in any ways (as I understand) there are other houses nearby, 20 in one mile radius or so, just scattered around somewhat,15 minutes from downtown area....

See I would kinda like to buy, very affordable first buy for me...very isolated esp compared to other housing in city, but the property is across the street from a few shops, and has foundation damage, walls cracking....suppose best thing it has is being so quite a street (non business hours) and still so close to dwontown...

bah, maybe, maybe not, hundred other properties everywhere right, but I'm gonna need more verifiable income to finance much for myself, through lender....ie. need mo money, off to craigslist...trying not to resort to restaurants just yet, though the flex hours would help a lot with side ventures Ive been looking into
