Sorry, I didn't mean it in a negative way. You have good relevant info on something already becoming a problem here.
I asked bc it would have been one more case here. I read another forum that has cases in Mass too.

No problem, I seen the post just a couple hours after noticing my weird looking tip. Thought to myself no way, that sounds like what I have.

I think I might still have one or two with hard to read preflowers. Also a few that seem to have stopped stretching and have visible flowers forming up (to various degrees of development). Different strains of course.

First male chopped today. This one was about 7 feet tall.
Big problem with stuffing the house - It's not easy to get in the corners and do what needs to be done.

Doing some repotting today and kicking some plants out of the house. At least eight of these must be males that get culled and then eight more will be giveaways. Looking for the twelve keepers. And a couple spares.

Thinned the indoor herd by half, repotted them, and it's still pretty full in there. Three more males get the axe.

I've seen this "purpling" occasionally in the past, and this year one plant has it. I did not know, or think it was a disease, but just genetics.

I'm not in MA either, but just across the bay.
I Always see leaf hoppers every year, particularly the red, and green striped ones.
The purpling is very dark like you spilled used motor oil on the plant, in little splashes. Again I know not in mass, but could show a pic. tomorrow if interested ?

Since my last post, I've harvested, dried and jarred my Purple Alaskan Auto for curing. For a 90% Indica, I'm impressed there was almost no mold, especially considering the intense humidity/heat we've been having. I didn't weigh it, but managed to fill 3 quart jars. Not too shabby for an auto! I will definitely be growing more next season.

Between that, my indoor harvest (Friesland and LA Pure Kush bagseed) and the 3 Erdpurts out back, I'm set with flower for the foreseeable future. I'm thinking this will free up some room for a breeding project sometime this fall/winter. Still have lots of Himalayan, Afghan and Paki seeds from the Real Seed Company.

On another note, I encountered a friggin' deer IN my fenced garden today. Luckily he was eating the tomatoes and not my plants. The gate is busted, so apparently he's been hopping over the rubbermaid tubs I've been using to block the entrance. Will have to remedy the situation tomorrow. To be honest though, its been kinda cool watching the deer this season. There's a buck, doe and fawn that have been hanging around the last month or so.

That's it for now, so I hope everyone's garden is doing well and fingers crossed for successful harvests!! Enjoy the dog days or summer, folks, it went by too fast....

OK,
Hey I just remembered where I saw your avitar, Mr. Reaper.

Anyway, I should have waited for the sun to get up a little higher (better lighting) for a better pic, but I think you can see the black stuff. It seems to be only on a couple of branches of one plant. and I tried to get a pic. of the leaf hopper, but it didn't "hold still" long enough for a close-up.

For a little perspective, a group shot of the roof top. It's the taller one (6 feet) in the back. These are pretty big for 5 gallon container, I have to water a lot, good thing I don't have a real life, haha.

The two in front are well into flower.

One more for the grow knowledge. Thanks for bringing it.

You're exactly right. It does look like the purple top phytoplasma disease.
