oh and the silver buddha flowering time, damn sorry i skipped that.

finding her optimum finish time is a work in progress, i dont mind at all that shes a late finisher. the thing is, she will look like shes ready at 8 weeks, and ive picked her that early. which is crazy early for a sativa, i mean at 8 she has had 15 amber 50 cloudy and the rest clear. thats fine for a thc thick sat, id rather the high be more up then not.

if you wait a week or so past 8, low and behold she starts pushing out white hairs again.

and so ive picked her at 8/10/and almost12 weeks so far. 12 was the best. this time im gonna harvest her in stages and see how that works. take the tops when they are ready, then let the lowers mature, take them etc.

black widow update-

ok wow that web was super strong. i used a piece of bamboo to wrap up the egg sac with her web and then put it in a jar. the web was so strong it was bending the bamboo. while i was getting her eggs, she wedged herself in the bottom of her web. well that made it really hard to get to her. i was as gentle as i could be with the bamboo stick, and she rolled up into a ball to play dead. anyways i got her into the jar with the sac.

it was interesting that she didnt fight at all. no lashing out at the bamboo. just straight up compliance. after a minute or so she majically came back to life in the jar. i took off the lid and put her in the bamboo hedge lining the back of the property.

well that is that. no more widow in the grow room, now shes in my back yard :D

dog update-

to start, i love my dog, he loves people, is super sweet, will lay his head on you to get petted. gets super excited to play, hes like a giant muscle, tail wagging, and wiggling as he walks to greet you. he is always in your business, whatever you are doing, he wants to be right there with you helping.

hes smart, will sit on command, will lay down. likes to pull when taken on walks, but ive stopped that and now hes a great walker. he will patiently wait sitting until i give him the ok to eat.

but, his instincts came out yesterday.

he was on the corner of the couch that he spends alot of his down time on. next to him was this new kong toy i got him that u can put treats in. so i sit next to him on the couch and decide to wrap him up in my arms.

now, ive done that a bunch of times. also we pull on his ears gently, play with his feet, things that kids might do, so he is not freaked when a kid does do that to him. my girl scrunches his face, he loves it. he loves all of it.

but something was different this time when i grabbed him on the couch and cornered him. his toy was right in his face. he cant see me cus im on top of him, behind him. im shaking him around playfully.

he starts a low growl. it turned quickly into snarling. i back off in shock to the other side of the couch. he flips his head around trying to bite me baring his teeth. im like woah oh shit. he doesnt bite me.

im in this vulnerable position sitting on the couch. my lady is directly across from me in the kitchen. hes growling and looking different. i go to get up, to stand so im not in such a weak defense. he runs around and gets in front of me low growl like sit the fuck down.

i realize hes put himself between me and my lady. hes looking back at her, then over to me, then over to his toy. every time i try to move he growls. fuck, so hes protecting my girlfriend from me, and doesnt know which item to defend, his toy or his lady.

i stayed calm and talked to him calmly. hey buddy its me, you know me, relax.

and then all the sudden he came back to his senses, like his whole body relaxed and his tail started going again and he came back to himself.

he looked up at me and then down and it looked exactly like he does when he knows hes done something wrong. which lasted for a while. he was just really submissive.

so shit. what do i do? hes just past 1 years old. still has his balls. im thinking something instinctual was triggered in him. and im dead serious he did not recognize me until he snapped out of it. and he was dead set on me staying away from my lady and his toy.

once he got scared, a switch was triggered.

so i dunno, i guess i just wanted to write out what happened. probably should get him fixed soon, i mean im not gonna breed him. i wanted to delay it as long as possible so he could fully develop. but as it stands, i wont have him around kids.

You need to do some consistent protection training with your dog so he can 1. recognize threats. 2. categorize threats 3. respond accordingly on command only. Increasing your dogs self confidence will greatly help his behavior as well. pit bull mixes especially need confidence training on top of the protection training so they aren't such loose cannons

On thing to consider is that he is sexually intact and entering maturity. His testosterone levels are probably getting higher. There is a good episode of the Dog Wisperer on Hulu right now that deals with this exact problem. The dog in question is a Black Lab. You should check it out before they take the video down.

thanks guys, i'll be doing both suggestions. ill research how i can implement training to accomplish the 3 points you made TG, and increase his confidence. because definitely part of his reaction was created by fear. even though it was very misguided, i was impressed that the other part of his reaction involved protecting. id like to keep that aspect of his instincts. but for now, no kids.

I'm a big dude and I was raised around very large Rhodesian Ridgebacks as a child. I learned how the legs of a dog work, and how they follow hands. Your dog needed to be placed on his side in a submissive position asap. That scruff on the back of the neck is a great point to grab when you are trying to get a hold of the far leg to sweep them on their side. Use your sweeping hand to distract them and then as soon as you can grab the neck, sweep them, pin them down and while holding their head against the floor pet their throat so that they know you have them and are dominant, but are not attacking them. Do not let them get up until you tell them it is okay. I'm never afraid to be bitten after playing with my friend's 7/8 wolf 1/8 german shepherd, and his canary island dog...If they latch push it deeper until they have no power in their jaw. Grabbing with the opposite arm behind the neck and pushing deeper with the arm in the mouth will make the dog release your arm, or have it's neck broken.

Hey dude, first off all, hope you soon will get a solution for your bugs, maybe a soap will do it? ... then the spider, DAMN , would have scared the shit out of me, serious man, can handle many things, but those spiders, and then a black widow --- probs to you man hehe :D you dont even wanna hear what I've would have done to get rid of it hehe...

Sorry to hear about the dog, this here is just my opinion , The dog is still young, 1 year - has still many things to learn, and i think , even though how hard you train a dog, at some point you can trigger something when it has something to do with the dogs food.. I dont think you should have the big worries about the dog should be "mad dog" get me right.. like you also said yourself, something to do with instinct.. and the dog is still very little .. Hope the best for you and the dog :)

Looking forward to see a update (=

thanks again for the concern and help with the dog guys.

updates will be coming soon.

still pondering how or why most of my plants went into bud so fast. suspects are:

1-weird july weather in my neck of the woods, bordering coastal overcast areas.

2- being in a southern latitude compared to northern cali.

3- sun pattern over my garden, lack of complete full sun all day.

not that im too far off as far as size is concerned, but i would have liked them to get bigger before they set.

hey bro,

sorry to hear about the dog problems as well...

im sure you already know this but just my opinion/exper... you have to be the head of the pack when you have bully breeds.

used to help my family run a dogo argentino mastiff kennel.

when my (male) dogs reached maturity they sometimes would growl to test their boundaries with me, kinda like a male challenging the alpha male. Assert that dominance right away every time, never being afraid of being bit (even if you are at risk and the damage could be very bad). Once you hear a growl you assert verbally/physically (not beating),like Feb2006 said about holding down (properly) pushing down on neck, never tolerating that owner-aggressive behavior. Once he smells your fear of being bit, he will instinctively switch to abnormal behavior. Honestly, aggressive behavior is the only time i would ever lay a hand on my dogs, showing them how important it is not to. Plantys suggestion about strict boundry/attack training is always the best way to go with your bully who loves to work for the owner :) not trying to preach or anything, you seem like a great owner/trainer as is bro, prob doing all the right stuff.

No pic updates? im eager to see the LA OD pic updates :)

some mites over here to, hope you overcome soon bro. take care!

dogo argentino, the argentinian hunting dog. weird you know my dog is exactly as tall as the standard for those. if his ears were cropped except for his brown spots, hed look identical.

dont worry about being straight up and honest if im doin something wrong, especially if you know what youre talking about. i apreciate any advice, so thanks. i understand the importance of dominance. he is such a dominant bastard too, always testing. even as a puppy he would stand on other full grown dogs, try to hump them. he can be an asshole.

you know i did let his puppy growling slide unless it was food. but he still growls too much when he plays. ill throw him on his back and hold his neck. he freezes. ill keep him there for a bit and then when i let go he goes straight back into play mode. no more tollerating growling of any kind.

i will have another pic update soon for yall. and i dunno where people got the impression, but i dont have mites of any kind right now, just black widows, wasps, some weird hiding bug, a strange mantis looking bug that wont stay in one spot long enough for me to snap a pic, and butterflys (bt do your thing)

Your dog should only vocalize aggressively when asked to by the pack leader or situation.

ps. re: black widow pic, if i were you i'd get rid of that egg mass even if you allow her to remain a resident in your home :D lol unless you want 100s of little black widows inhabiting your castle mate

ok i swear i will update pics tomorrow!

and thanks for all the help and good words. the dog is coming along well too. no intense training yet, just reprimanding whenever he playfully growls when he plays. sounded weird writing that, but anyways.

lots of budding plants to show you guys manana. promise.

HL, you guys up north who risked freedom and persecution for all those years to do what you knew was right, deserve all the respect and support this community can offer. furthermore, your cultivation ethics and proactive approach to standing up for what you know is right is praiseworthy and i say, right on.

on with the show. the promised picture update:
