thanks guys,

hogan, right on i wish i could claim the home made pots and supp lights as my own invention. they are definitely key for growing out doors, especially in so cal with its fewer frost days. i should have had my plants out in early march.

i see four things as being revolutionary and semi recent to outdoor gardening:

1- supplemental lighting
2- smart pots (home made or not)
3- early spring hoop houses
4- hortonova

those bugs are some sort of nymph( meaning young bug basically) and that they are all together means they recently hatched. we have those here but in a different color, they are dark blue with those same spots when small. as of the two years i have seen them, they only seem to eat fruit that didn't get picked and went bad. not sure what they are exactly.

PS does it have to be a red skittle?

thanks Jay and Gaius,

i was hoping someone would tell me they were powdery mildew eating blue ladybugs.

@red skittle, well i put yellow ones under the sativas, no trichs yet. just dont put out reeses pieces or youll get abducted.

Looking good. I have seen amber Trichs on a bubblegum plant when the pistils were still white. Don't worry because only a few will turn, not all at once.

whats up everyone,

had a bubble hash making day today. thought i'd share. it reminds me alot of dredging for gold. the washing machine is the dredge. the extracted water; the concentrate. the bags; pans. the hash; gold.

1- have crafty girlfriend sew up leftover burlap from home made smart pots to hold shake and trim. repeat three times.
picture.php

2- clean out washing machine and fill with ice, toss in some burlap sacks.
picture.php

3- fill with more ice and add some dry ice. chant.
picture.php

4- run washer for 10 minutes then switch to spin and unload into the Vorsprung bags.
picture.php

5-shake shake shake. hang. plop.
picture.php

6- chop chop, cover and dry.

and thats how we roll

Wow buddy you have been doing alot. Nice hash making, interesting process with the burlap sack. You should show us some pics I want to see those babies, they are about to finish up down there right? Which strains did you pull down already? Happy Harvest my friend.

sure. outdoors, most memorably in the black boxes I see amber trichs very early. Especially way out on the leaves. I have always attributed it to degradation from the sun.

thanks for the help guys.

yeah nomaad, same here with the amber trichs mostly out on the leaves. theres a few leaves straight amber.

brother ganja- the hindu and the banana kush i picked were close to the wall and not getting any morning sun. death over here with the humidity at night and high dew point. both went into flower early probably because of the lack of sun. i meant to only pull the hindu because it was getting killed with bud rot. nothing i did was stopping the spread. didnt mean to pull the banana kush. showed my boys the hindu kush, took off some branches, started with the deleafing, then when back inside to work on the new drying room. came back and realized theyd gone and pulled the banana kush next to it and had been busy at work deleafing her. soooo, one plant pulled turned into two :D

OUCH! thats sucks about the bananna kush bro, i'd be pissed. it's hard to find good help these days everyone's got their head up their ass, you know the saying "if you want something done right you have to do it yourself".

was that the only bananna kush you had? i was hoping to see that thing in all her glory lol. how early do you think she was?

take it easy bro,
peace

hahah yeah i blame me though. should have made it more clear. next time im putting my 4th of july flag on a bamboo pole and staking the correct plant. i take it for granted that im out there every day, know each plant personally. basically one dude went on auto pilot and started taking branches off the one closer. normally i would be the one deleafing. i like de leafing, im fast and it keeps me clear of trimming. id rather have them plopped down on their trimming tables while i feed them sticks.

i have more banana kush out there. its not a complete loss, she was pretty close to bein ready. by the amount of shrinkage after a few days hanging...not close enough.

for sure... the same thing has happened with my plants and some of my friends, they think their helping and in most cases they are making things worse or more complicated. thats why now i try and do as much of the work as i can i dont care how much longer it takes me to delfoliate and harvest and trim, it will be done to my standards lol.

but i to take for granted working with cannabis everyday and most people just think they understand, second or third hand. the worst i think is people that have general gardening experience that try to help because they dont realize how specific the cannabis plant and its varities like their growing evnironment, treatment, and fertilization.

good to know that you have more banana.

keep the chronic train rolling,
peace

whats up Feb, thanks for the heads up on this.

workin on it. covering those plants, which were never in perfect rows in order to make best use of the yard layout, is making it more complicated than it should be. basically im making canopies that cover between two and three plants at a time.

ill be mostly done by tomorrow, with pics.
