GMT 2 b honest i hadnt thought of doing anything till u just mention it.. its in the flower box now waiting to show its sex, been in 5 days so still early yet. I cld take the branch to clone , in fact sounds a good idea and if its male i cld save for a seed making project(havent done before) and if female, clone it, and play maybe crossing it with a male i end up with from future grow.. u got me thinking for sure about it now lol thanks for reminding me of the option cos id not thought at all
Hi Beaner,
you've combined topping and LST there, nicely done, though I'd now have to top the 2 end buds out too.
Hi Kooki. Glad to have stirred up your interest. Carefull if you're going to clone it, thats how I lost my decent quad. I must have taken 4 clones from separate parts of its cola, and lost them all. Nothing adds interest to a breeding project like tri's. At least that's what I found. Just think for a second. If we can mutate the plant enough, it'll need to be re-classified, then re-outlawed.
hehe, ok, the next fuck up on my list.
The faithfull tri male, the one I totally cut back down to one tri branch, for pollen, well, after all this time, I made a rookie mistake. The single ball type structures at the node joints, put out pistils. Yep its just one of those anoying late showers, that fools ya at first. Don't mix that up with a hermie that puts out both, this only has large pre flowers producing pistils. But alas only on the sole remaining branch lol. At least I took a cut from the central cola, not sure if it will root yet. The pisser is that I culled the male I wanted only keeping a tri branch as a cut, also yet to root. I still have their father though, who we know has a good influence on these things, and another male born tri but reverted, with a really wierd double leaf, with only that branch still intact, we could have a meeting of the single branches and see how the cuts work out. Best case senario, I get 2 lines of seeds from this round of seeds, worst case, I get 1 but 1 that isn't ideal. Ah well not long to wait to find out now. I also have the next round of seeds to sprout, sprouting, a couple of new tris so far, and one late to sprout from the last round.
Man GMT you have less pics posted lately than I do..oh yeah you were looking at cams..reading..as stoned as I am..hmmm..j/k
And haha you got a girl..
Beaner thats a nice looking LST early topper..watch that tension..I split one doing that..I think I have a pic..
in fact I remember GMT telling me to put moist bog roll on it..to which I said say "what the hell is bog roll..Apparantly "English" for toilet paper..hehe
Anyway thought I would post my "Twin Towers" pics via the early topping..
Wanted to show some nice color individual plant shots..but I just have that one with the others..
Anyway here's one at 18days flower ADCW (see thread for acronym)
lol yeah I'm living up to my thread title at the mo. What happened was I that I chose the cam I wanted, got it, used it. Then the battery ran out and I figured out it wasn't an auto recharge model. So then I (I think) worked out the type of batteries it takes, and ordered one and a recharger. Still waiting for delivery on them. I should break out the old 2mp cam If its not here tomorrow, I'll think about doing that. Twin towers project looks like it's going well. Great memory on the split plant bandage, that must be a couple of years ago now surely.
If you are seriously looking for cams Pack, and you want to spend a bit, but not a fortune, I only wish I could have afforded another ton or 2 and gone for the sony f828.
Thanks for brightening the place up a bit, seems a few have taken to doing that when I fall lazy with my own pics, so great to put your feet up and let others take care of everything for you. Now if only I could sort out lazy living lol.
At least we get to do, tri branch from tri at birth tri faithfull x tri branch tri at birth but reverted to bi, erm, unamed f2s.
Hey Fallen, thanks man, gonna start a new thread soon, make sure ya tune in.
Hey everyone, sorry about the interuption in the broadcast, hope it didn't affect your enjoyment too much, lol, that's what the tv guys tells me everytime they take something I'm watching off the air while they teach the trainee not to unplug that.
here's some links to some very interesting reading, if you're interested in genetics. There is a glossary in the gene school, which I kept open in a diff window while reading the rest.
And out of interest:
If the world's population were considered as a village of 1,000 people, there would be:
584 Asians
124 Africans
95 Eastern or Western Europeans
84 Latin Americans
55 (former) Soviets
52 North Americans
4 Australians
2 New Zealanders
There would be 330 children and 60 people over the age of 65.
I'll post a link when I start the new thread, I think Lazy Growing has done everything it can now, unless you want to see something else done in a lazy way.
GMT , great stuff, look forward to your next thread. Will take a look at those links ,looks like some good info there to see. The plant i took tri branch from ended up being female, and has also another tri branch on it with other normal branches, and the cutting is just showing some white "nubs" of roots beggining. again thanks for the reminder of options, this gives me some things to think about for the future. take it easy and stay lazy
Hey Kooki, that's great news. A tip I wish someone had given me to start with, if you could get both branches rooted, then take clones from each later, you can use bi foliar males (diff male for each cut) and then search the off spring for tris. You may not find any, but if you cross offspring from each set of parents, you may still find a decent percentage of offspring being trifoliar. I believe the tri trait to be recessive, meaning that 50:50 crosses, may not show the trait at all, due to the dominat gene masking the recessive one. When you check out the gene school link, look into all the sections. Some great diagrams of how the punet square theory works. But you have to think about f3s as it only shows one round of breeding results. Anyway, congrats again, feel free to post any pics in here or the new thread.
say GMT before you move threads...got a Q...
if i wanted 2 clone the tri male woulld i need 2 take a clone of the top or would a sidebranch do....i only doubt if they revert to 3 branches again....
Hi Core,
you're asking all the big questions. In theory, you could use a side branch, but I don't think the theory is correct. I could be wrong and everyone else right. The probability of me being right is very small. Therefore, you really only have 3 options. 1. reveg the whole plant, that way you dont lose anything. 2. take your pic. 3. clone both, and so long as you dont lose the central cola, keep that around, if you do, at least ya have the branch. 4. use his pollen straight away. hmm, ok you have 4 options lol.
I was gonna start a new thread tonight. But I can't be bothered if I'm honest. Want to see some pics?
The faithfull tri male, that got hacked appart from one tri branch, and then turned out to be female not male lol.
The back up tri's,
And the cuts that will be used for the next big round of seeds, male at the top (tri branch taken from a born trator tri) and the central cola from faithfull tri yet to show roots.
i dont know what you think your doing mr G but you sir should be the one giving up growing.... look every seed you touch turns out to be a 3 leafed mutant! typical.... a right hypocryte
peace bro
lmao, yeah, if I knew what I was doing, I'm sure i'd be getting those lovely hermies rather than un hermieable mutants with 3 leaves. Still, maybe with a bit more practice I may master it.
I found one in an orange bud, back in the early days, I didnt use that for breeding. I found a few in DVPs Rhino. In my lines, no no hermies at all. And my cab has 4 sides, a top, a bottom, and 2 sides, so you could say I have 2 light leeks, being the front and back. Plants that throw out nanas, are, recombining hetrogenous sections on the DNA chain, which should not be done. Therefore if anything ever did throw out a nana, its no good for breeding with.
And in fact, neither were its parents.
anyone know what this is? I found a couple of em had set up home in the veg area, and a few leaves are in a bad way, not sure if it is connected or not.
