Wow they are cool looking...pesky critters though. How is that insect frass and oil working?

That must be cool to have a place u can constantly map out uncharted grow sites. Its like treasure hunting :)

hey bro thanks! ya thats one the benefits of living in the mountains i suppose. all my plots are within 30 min hike from my house. i can visit them everday if need be but i try to keep it down to 2-3 times a week lol i always go after a wind storm to make sure everthing is alright. i didnt use to do that till about 3 yrs ago a wind storm come and i thought no biggie and when i went to water a few days alter there laid one my patchs tipped over and dead bc of my own lazy ass mistake so that was a lesson learned that will never be repeated. the frass and oil are working good. the frass activates the plants SAR and the oil puts a physical barrier there. when the plant is sprayed with frass the plant also thinks its under a heavy insect attack so it starts sending defense things to the cell walls that is under attack by insect and fungi. the plant will also secerte chitinese which directly attacks insects. here is a good link on chitosan in plant protection. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2866471/

:dance013: Check out this new sprayer that i got into from ebay. i already tested it and it works great to hit up under the bottom of the leaves of the ladys. im about to order 3 more of different sizes for different things i will be using for my foliar game this year. a chapin sprayer is prolly alot better but i cant be carrying a extra 1 gallon sprayer with water in it around in the hills bc the terrain here is rugged as hell.:woohoo:

Thats a handy, helpful nice sprayer ya got there Ky. How much did that run ya? I know there are times when I wish I could get the bottom canopy better than getting down on the ground, should speed up your work time as well bro.

I hear ya about hauling the sprayer through the hills and hollars hahaha. I usually use a backpack sprayer, I really like it as far as being compatible and holding large amounts of whatever recipe or brew you have mixed up for the girls. I'm gonna have to get me one of those, that way I can pick the nights I wanna go spraying, have my back pack sprayer for quick overall applications and carry that one on my side to hit em from beneath before moving onto the next one.

i been looking at camping backpacks online. i think it would make carrying 4 gallon of water at a time alot easier. i could put 2 in my backpack and 2 in each hand and would make life alot easier bc the grip on the milk jugs just dont make it easy. i think after harvest this year i will most likely get me a 1-2 gallon backpack chapin sprayer with a wand.
im waiting on my vitazyme to get here. i got high hopes for this stuff since i spoke with a guy on another forum that said it works extremely well. i only paid $12.95 for 8oz bottle. the application rate is only 1/2 tsp per gallon of water so that will be perfect for how many plants im doing to test it out.

Yes, camping back pack comes in handy. If I have to water which is very rare due to the water crystals I always use I will put the water in the back pack in a few 2 liter bottles, you can fit larger amounts of water in the back pack with 2 liters. But what really helps with hauling water for me IMO is a good size duffle bag. You can fit tons in there if needed and as much as you can handle. Works like a charm!

Also, at your local walmart go to the camping section. They will have some 5 gallon containers that are made for water storage with nice handles. I paint mine camo and they really come in handy. They are heavy because they will actually hold about 6 gallons or more of water. It also has a fitting on it you can sit the jug at the top of a hill and connect a hose to it and turn the nozzle and the water is flowing, just some food for thought Ky.

I missed it but are you giving them supplemental silica as well? That could make for a hardier plant to ward off critters.

Super props to you Kyg and respect to all the guerrilla farmers!

I'll be plugging in my plants in the next week or so and starting the Regalia/Actinovate root drench as well as ACT. I decided to wait on these as I don't want to use it up on male plants. I hope the SAR response will be adequate come flowering time.

By the way Kyg, plantitas are looking awesome!

ya bro i use protekt for the silica supplement. i use it with ever watering and also for my weekly IPM sprays. i can tell the stalks are starting to thicken in. thanks for stopping in bro!
Yep, a large backpack is a must for the guerilla grower.

This is used for carting amendments to the site if you use them, carting water, carrying seedlings or cuttings to the site (especially needed if urban guerilla growing and you have to carry them stealth),and also carrying the harvest out at the end of the season and lots more uses.

I use a large one for carting and a smaller one for reconnaissance patrols.
hey FF thanks for stopping in. im still looking online at the backpacks lol damn so many good looking ones idk which to get. which one do u use?

i have a duffel bag i got when i was in the navy which we called it a seabag. its really handy bc it has straps on it that i sling on my shoulder but damn 4 gallons of water in it at once feels like its gonna rip my shoulder off lol. i dont have to carry water to far though the spots i have got a water source except plot#4 which is on the top of the hill. i put 2 of there my dela and the critcal SSH for 1 reason, they get sun from sun up till sun down so should be monsters or at least thats the goal lol i didnt know about the walmart storage thing though i will defo look for that when i go back to wally. thanks bro!

hey bro thanks alot for the kind words. i also have waited to use the regalia and actinovate. i think i will start around end of july with the regalia at 15ml foliar and 20ml soil drench. i have only used insect frass which has chitosan and aloe which has Salycilic Acid both these activate SAR and help to make the plants stronger in the process. ive read though that u dont want to use Salycilic Acid in flower so im gonna get it out right when i get ready to start with the Regalia. i also have greencure and Sns244c. here is what im thinking week 1-2 of flower i will hit the plants with greencure and regalia. week 2-4 i will do just like silverback said to spray before the buds close over the stems with greencure but i will also add Regalia as soil drench. week 5-7 will be Regalia as drench,insect frass and actinovate spray. most my strains are 10 weeks with a few 8 week strains. instead of using bud factor x which works really well bc it has chitosan i will use the frass to help bring out more trichs and also helps burst the fungi cell walls for prevention of bud rot. i got some good outdoor strains this year so im hoping that bud rot wont be a issue this year but im prepaired to battle it lol.

I went to plot# 2,3 and 4 today for weekly IPM spray. I found some spider on one my plants but I'm sure it's not a spider mite. Anyone know what kind of spider this is? The 2nd and 3rd pic is of my critical super silver haze. I got some insect damage on it but not sure what kind it is either and its not to much of a issue. i exspect some insect damage in veg. it will all be over once flowering starts though IME they only attack the plant when they are in veg and without the trichs, once the trichs pile on they stay away. Pic 4 & 5 is the dela it's looking really good. It's almost 4 foot tall now. I found a grand daddy long legs chilling on top of it. Not sure what he's doing there but I let him be. Oh ya i almost forgot i will have the VITAZYME in thursday so i will be testing it out and see if it really works. i had previously did some research into brassinsteroid which is one of the active ingredients in vitazyme and it seems promising. Also the tricantonal we all know that works well. snow storm ultra's active ingredient is Triacantonal so it will be interesting to see how or if this product works. $12.95 is all it cost for 8oz so if it dont work then no big loss.

Yeah, you told me about the insect frass, looks like it works amazing, with with the chitosan and all. I just couldn't budget it this year. I looked into it and sources from China and all...

Kill it this year Kyg!

hey kyg, things looking real good. Healthy plants indeed.

I hope you're gonna do a summary of which sprays etc worked best at the end of the season, I'm having trouble keeping up with all the stuff you're using but I think all your research and experience will come in very handy for guerilla growers everywhere.

Spiders are our friends, they'll deal with a load of pests for you. The more, the merrier.

When you say Daddy longlegs, do you mean the spider-type things or Crane Flies (which we brits call Daddy longlegs)? Crane flies are fuckers that will lay eggs in the soil that hatch into leatherjackets, a root-eating grub that you don't want near your plants. The spidery-type things however are really good predators of aphids.

There's a great thread somewhere on here relating to beneficial insects with pics and all, maybe check it out to familiarise yourself with the goodies and baddies.

peace, TEC.

The backpack I have at present is a cheapie, and I've had it for a while now and it's done a lot of work, it's held together by bits of rope here and there now but still gets the job done.
The only advantage of a more expensive one is it may be more comfortable when carrying weight, but I don't know, I have always bought cheap ones.

I have carried a 21 litre (about 5.5 gallons) jerry can in the previous backpack for watering plants, and it's not that hard.
I find it's easier if you adjust it so the jerrycan sits high on your shoulders. Hell I even got so I could jog to the patch with that on my back!
i think i will get me a cheap one as well bro at walmart til at least after this season is over so i can see what makes it thur and how much loot im looking at having. i agree i about it being high on the back bc thats what i do with this duffel bag i have. i put it as high on my back as possible but i only got 1 damn strap on it or otherwise i could carry 5-6 gallon at a time in it.

Hey Ec thanks brother! i will do a summary at the end to see what has been the best single or combo spray for the IPM. thats good to know that big spiders are our friends bc i left that one on my plant. what we call a granddaddy long legs is this https://www.google.com/search?q=gra...0%2F08%2Fgranddaddy-longlegs-haiku%2F;600;233

oh i didnt know about that thread to look for benefical bugs. i will need to find that for sure. thanks alot brother! i been peeping ur grow as well things are moving along nicely as well. i cant wait to see how ur rotten panda does:tiphat:

Well here it is fellas! it just arrived in the mail, so lets let the testing begin on a few plants to see if it does what it says. has anyone used this before? if so what was the results or ur view on it? its organic and OMRI listed as well.

Vitazyme
* 1-triacontanol.................. .............................. ...................0.17 mg/ml

* Brassinosteroids (homobrassinolide,
homodolicholide, dolicholide, brassinone)................... ....0.03 mg/ml

* Kinetin....................... .............................. ........................ < 1 mg/ml

* Gibberellic acid.......................... .............................. ......0.13 mg/ml

* Indoleacetic acid.......................... .............................. ...... < 1 mg/ml

* Biotin........................ .............................. .......................0.006 mg/lb

* Folic acid.......................... .............................. ...............0.007 mg/lb

* Niacin........................ .............................. ......................0.077 mg/lb

* Pantothenic acid.......................... .............................. ......0.13 mg/lb

* Vitamin B1 (thiamin)..................... .............................. ...2.03 mg/lb

* Vitamin B2 (riboflavin).................. .............................. .0.078 mg/lb

* Vitamin B6............................ .............................. ..............1.2 mg/lb

* Vitamin B12 (cobalamine).................. .........................0.001 5 mg/lb

* Glycosides

* Glucans

* Various enzymes
Brassinosteroids, called “a growth regulator of the 21st Century”, are effective at extremely low concentrations. At the standard 13 oz/acre (1 liter/ha) application rate, 30 mg/ha are applied, which is well within the accepted active range of 20 to 50 mg/ha. Effects on plants include: greater seed germination, increased crop yield, improved flowering, enhanced stress tolerance (temperature extremes, salinity, drought, and pesticides), increased leaf chlorophyll and photosynthesis.

* Triacontanol is a well-researched compound found in relative abundance in Vitazyme, at about 0.17 mg/ml. It can activate plant growth when applied at extremely low concentrations, less than 1 mg/ha. Effects on plants include: improved seedling growth, increased chlorophyll and photosynthesis, enhanced dry matter accumulation, increased crop yield.
