Looking good Ky! One reason I guess I can consider getting a later start this year a good thing is that by now things wont get as overgrown surrounding the plot as easily and I can really get a feel of the sunlight time my girls will be receiving. I have went to a few holes I dug a couple months ago and had to do several hours of clearing brush and limbs due to that reason. If I were you bro, i'd make sure all my main stuff was out and start me a couple trays of local bag seed and throw in some trench lines and patches, males and all, do a lot of small patches. This will be your "backup gravy" plan, usually works for me. I used to get about a half lb to a lb per 2-3ft by 8 to 9 ft row. I know its not the method we really want to use to grow but it does work. Dig about a foot deep. Just turn the soil over, throw in some water crystals and some time released ferts and put about 25-30 in that area. Go back and pull males and then tie each plant to the outside to open it up. It really does work bro.

hey bro i know what u mean about the underbrush growing out. i have a few new spots this year so i wasnt 100% sure what would be there when grown out and what wasnt but i got all that sorted now. i have done did that in previous years, saying tossing out a bunch of stuff and pick it up later. it didnt really work out to good for me bc alot was just runts with airy popcorn trim. i have since focused on growing bigger plants in smaller numbers and its turned out very well like this for me. I also dont have no seeds other then what ive bought from seedsman, herbies and cannzon which i do have regulars. ive learned that getting great mold resistant strains is the key to success for me. get a few of what i call insurance strains and then get some new strains out as testers that interest me,so if they mold it wont matter bc u got the insurance strains for backup..thanks for stopping in brother. Keep it green!!

Hey bro I forgot to mention, a while back a close friend of mine got a quarter lb of some indoor hydroponic Kali Mist. It was much too sativish for him but I absolutely loved it! It was very energizing, uplifting and made me feel very rushy but calm. Kinda like I was flying while I was sitting still, if that makes sense. I could look off my deck over the mountain and feel myself rushing through the sky, it was definitely on the verge of psychadelic. Unlike most pure or somewhat full sativa's it didn't give me any anxiety or paranoia no matter how messed up I got on it.

Great choice bro! You will LOVE it if you get a good pheno and i'm sure they are very stable genetics so i'd say you will get lucky. The only worry I see with it is that you might be harvesting in November if you get the more sativa pheno, which I have personally had to run some of mine into the first week or so of November before.

that could be a strain u and i both grow next year if u know what i mean :woohoo: i just ordered me 2 lbs of azomite that im gonna water into my soil at plot#5. i replaced all those soil there this year from miracle gro potting mix( which is shit and bug infested btw) with happy frog and ocean forest so i figured that plot can use a little A to Z there. its got 65% silicon in it as well which will help make the stems fat. this no rain shit is killing me i gotta go to plot #4 & #5 today to water. gonna give them a little small dose of neptune harvest liq seaweed and B-52 today as well. i have always thought about doing a long running strain at a good plot bc if i do then i miss all the humidity and alot less chance for bud rot that way. im also gonna be growing Ace's Malawi and its a long flowering strain but the smoke is top shelf for sure and the genetics are hardy as fkk from all the reports ive read.

My first casualty of war. It was the flowering serious 6. I'm glad it wasn't a dela or my CsshI wonder what else Mother Nature gonna throw at me this year. I'm sure she got a few more surprises up her sleeve. This plant looked like someone cut it with scissors but the cage wasn't to high and something like a deer could prolly reach in there and chop it. It was hanging by a thread of fiber. Also while i was there i FIM a biddy early, sweet purple and the church. im not sure if i did it correct since i have never did it but i watched a few vids on youtube to watch how it was done so fingers crossed it works and i can get 4 colas instead of the 2 vs topping. these will be the only ones i do that to as a test this year. Anyways here is the pic of the Murdered Serious 6 by Mother Nature..

Hey Ky, glad to see you figured out the problem with serious 6. I hope it reveg's for you.
The e-mail from Simon tells me I picked the right strain for my Lat. So far it seems very vigorous. Everything else looks great for you. My condolences for your loss.

Hey brother! yes it seems that it will be perfect for u then. im still praying for a reveg lol im not sure what happen wit that one S6. its all good though now i only gotta carry 3 gallons of water at a time instead of 4 lol this is one the plots that i have to carry up hill to get to the plot. i will be growing that Kali mist next year though. i have heard so many good things about it. I;m really impressed with my living soil plot. its smoking everthing else right now in terms of growth and stem thickness. if things keep going like this at the living soil plot then i will be switching to 100% organic way from here on out,but only time will tell. i still have my doubts lol thanks for popping in GG. are u doing a journal? if so send me a link pls

I had to go water at plot#2 today. this month we have not got 1 drop of rain which is odd. i hope its not gonna be like this all summer lol i also tried my luck at first time Fim. i hope i did it correctly so i can get those 4 big colas ive read about. the 2 pics below is the church i just Fim. i was there at my spot this morning at 745am and it was already getting sun. i didnt know it got it this early. i was thinking at least 9am or 930:woohoo:,but hell ya i will take it bc this lady will grow massive there bc it gets direct sun till 8pm right now. i love how healthy the plants look right now. i know the neem, aloe, protekt and liq seaweed is for sure making a difference so far in my grow. this time last year i prolly already had spots on the leaves and bug bite holes that was weaking down my ladys and opened me up for bud rot infection. Let me know if u guys think the Fim i did is the correct way. i watched a few youtube vids and read a few things before i went to do it. thanks Ic for stopping in.

Hey Ky, I have no journal yet but I hope to start one soon. I have a few pic's in my album if you want to take a peek. Nothing much to see yet. I was at my plot today and a few of my babies looked like they were shot with a shotgun. I will send you a link when I start my journal. Just sooo busy right now.
cheers GG

cool brother pls do. i want to see how well that S6 turns out since i still have 3 seeds left i will try it again next year but i wont germ the seed till may 1st instead of april 1st so it should get a month or 2 of veg time before it flowers. why do they look like they shot with a shotgun? im guessing from the bugs biting them right? i have horrendous bugs here to which is why i neem the shit out mine. i was told on the previous page my plants didnt look to healthy lol while i do agree the pics when they first get the spray dont make them look good but once it dries they are looking sexy. if u havent already get some neem or karanja oil bro if the holes are indeed bug bites.

Hey Gorilla, in no way do I disagree with organics but unless you have an established plot that you can tend to daily I wouldn't go all out with organic pesticides, yet anyway. I will tell you what will stop those bites and it will last a couple weeks or so. Get you some concentrated liquid Sevin and spray those babies. This will keep everything off of your plants, I promise. Also spray the ground below them, top and bottom of leaves, in the dark or late evening when there is no direct sunlight.

It is crucial to plants, seedling especially that the newborn leaves are healthy and not bug infested. The sevin is something I personally use when I first set the plants and then again maybe a couple weeks later and then about 2 or 3 weeks before flowering, so you don't have to worry about smoking the stuff.

I do understand that sevin will also kill beneficial insects as well, which is why I would NOT recommend chemical insecticides on the indoors or a backyard grow such as what they do in California or medical states. We unfortunately do not have those options to visit and watch carefully if we are growing guerilla. My point is, in the bush, those beneficial insects are not going to just sit around and hang out on your plants or help defend it nearly as much as what they would do in a controlled environment. I personally don't want ANY insects on my plants except spiders, mantis or lady bugs which i've actaully found to still loaf on my leaves after using sevin.

I also know that sevin will make spider mite outbreaks a hundred times worse, its kinda like steroids to mites, but unless you live in desert heat or dryness you don't have to worry about spider mites outdoors. In all my years of growing i've never seen them outdoors nor has anyone I have spoken with about it.

Personally my biggest problem with insects even after using the sevin was caterpillars aka bud worms! You do NOT want these and sevin is not that great for killing them. You will need BT for those bastards. They will start eating in your buds and shitting in them and you will notice it will cause bud rot almost instantly. One year I had zero rot, during a drought throughout flowering season. The next year I had rot everywhere but it was humid and I found that humidity makes these worms worse and causes more chances of bud rot to hit. I didnt find out till I was trimming and harvesting what was causing so much rot till I started finding these worms.

Good luck, whatever route you choose I hope it works for you!

Ky, I hate to hear about the dry weather you are having, on this side of the appalachians its been raining hard almost everyday for the last 4 days off and on and rain in the forecast everyday this week an weekend. Must be barely missing you man. Leaves look good bro!:tiphat:

i was at plot#5 today to water and i found what looked like human spit on the stem. inside that bubble foam i found a black insect. im 99.9% sure its leafhoppers honeydew. i have been spraying neem ever 7-10 days at 5ml per liter but i think im gonna have to up the anty on it and do 10ml per liter. this honey dew can cause all sorts of fkn issues. i have a old bottle of the liquid seven that i will use if this next dose of neem dont keep them off. im also gonna get some DE to put on and around the plant as well. its way to early in the season to get sooty mold to appear on my stems. i now know this is why my leafs kinda are distorted and twisted. the leafhoppers that are on my plant is colorful looking its red, yellow and light green. i also have some Sierrra natural science 209 systemic/repel killer which has rosemary oil in it. i will mix that in later this evening as well with the neem. i will then go back to check it out the following day and if they are still on there then they are getting blasted with the Sevin spray! :dueling: i also have the powder as well that im gonna make a circle around each hole so nothing will cross it...i want to keep it all organic if possible since i can tend my plots daily bc the place i live all my plots are only 1mile in a radius from my house but, i also understand how important that foliage is to young plants and the Sevin will be long gone by time i flower out if i have to go that route... ya Mountianbudz no rain in site here man. this has been the driest May then i have seen in 10 years. i been watching the forecast and i seen on ur side of the mountain that u guys been getting good rain. the grass here is turning brown. i wish it would rain damn mother nature is working the shit out me right now  each day im going to a different plot and then when i get done at the last one i gotta start it all over again contiunously:wallbash:

Thanks Ky and MountainBudz for your concern and info for my ladies. As hard as it will be to watch these girls will be going el natural. No spray's at all of any kind. First and foremost I am doing a breeding project. I want to see which strain's stand up to cruel mother nature the best. Only the strongest strains will be used for future breeding step's. This step is the most important for my outdoor strains so no pampering of any kind including water that does not fall from the sky.
peace GG

Kyg, sounds like frog hoppers to me. Cuckoo spit.

They really aren't that bad a pest and don't do much damage at all. Chill.
well thats very relieving to hear TEC. i hit them with 10ml of neem,2.5 ml of rosemary extract and 1 tsp of insect frass. so im hoping this will keep them away since i know most pests hate the wonderful smell of rosemary. i'll keep u posted on how it turns out.
Edit: i just did some research on the froghopper and u was 100% correct on what it was. that was the exact bubbly foam looking substance i seen on my stem yesterday. i do have leafhoppers as well though so hopefully the neem will kill them if they bite my plants anymore and or the rosemary will repel them as well so they can move on to another plant and stay off mine lol thanks brother

that sounds like u will have a very good strain once the breeding is done, plus it will be acclimatized to ur area so should be bombproof once u are done.
