Hey Ic! I just got back checking plot #5. I got a monster church growing there it's up to my chest now. So roughly 4 foot tall. I got some kind of bug damage on it though and I'm not sure wtf it is. I been spraying neem ever 7 days at 5ml to 1liter of water. I'm gonna go back in 3 days and up the dose to 10ml of neem and 5ml of Karanja oil. I got to stop this shit whatever it is. Here's the pics let me know what u guys think it is.:dunno: if this next dose dont stop the damage then im gonna have to up the enty with something stronger!

I think it's all that shit you keep spraying on them.
I would leave them alone; from the photo's it's only some of the leaves that have those brown spots on them, and the rest of the leaf is still photosynthesising as it's still green.
I think you should concentrate on getting them to grow as fast as possible, ie. lots of water and some water soluble high nitrogen fertilizer.
A vigourous plant will usually outgrow any damage that happens to it.

dude this is clearly insect damage! this is nothing to do with what im spraying. if that is the case then how are my leaves gonna look like this after it drys. their is something attacking my1 church. i been growing long enuff to know insect damage when i see it

Ky, looks like Mexican Bean Beetle damage to me. They look a lot like lady bugs, but the aren't red they are orange. I've seen them in my previous grows and if you google mexican bean beetle damage you sill clearly see almost exact symptoms. Better be getting that sevin out bro, if it continues. Neem will stop a lot of critters but not so much beetles (larger insects) in my experience.

Its possible that is may not be the mexican bean beetle, but some sort of beetle for sure!

I forgot to mention the Japanese beetle as well. The damage looks similar from both. Just something to look into man.

yep im going back with the sevin spray and the dust tomorrow! i have both from last years grow, idk why the fuckers are only attacking this 1 plant. its the biggest plant of all lol. i FIM the jacky white, biddy, and sweet purple and its been a success. the jacky have a even canopy right now with 4 tops coming up. pretty excited about that since its my first time using the FIM method. i will get some pics next time i hit the organic plot. thanks for the info bro..

Did you top those plants Ky?
They look like they have been topped.

i topped a few and i FIM a few. right now im liking the look of the FIM alot better and next year i will be switching to that method from here on out. the FIM ones have a very bushy look to them. i'll grab some pics when i go back out there to show u guys

looking good Ky, a few bug bites is to be expected no matter what you use. I'd like to see some comparison pics between the 2 methods topping vs. fim once they bush out a bit more.
Peace GG

If you top them when they are too small it will slow their growth for a while; outdoors you want them to grow quickly when you first plant them out, so they get big enough quickly to get out of the danger zone as quickly as possible.

Don't be in a hurry to top them, there's no urgency to it.
Let them get 2 foot tall before you top them, that way you wont slow their growth much.

I think you topped those ones way too early.

i top mine the same for the last 10 years brother! i have not had no issue at all finishing my insurance strains. i can grow into till end of oct sometimes into mid nov before first frost. i am not worried about slowing growth for 5 or 6 days. they all have recovered now that i actually topped and growing those 2 big shoots. i pulled 15 oz off this plant last year that was topped and 14 oz the year before, but i like FIMing better now to be honest. i always top at the 7th node.

hey bro as soon as i go back to the organic plot tomorrow evening i will do that for u. iagree a few is always exspected but i like to keep it as minimal as possible =). i have the Dela that i topped and the Jacky white that i FIM so u can see the difference. the FIM plant is just alot more bushy now and its growing 4 main shoots instead of the 2 that u get with topping..I agree with Featherfoot that it will slow growth at first when u top them, but on Fim it dont even slow them down.

What u guys think about this spray bottle, has anyone used it before and if so does it work as described? i think this can be really useful for when the time comes for the chitosan,Regalia and greencure fungicides that i will be using for prevention

I went to plot#4 today but I also stopped at plot 1 to check on the serious 6. It appears that it has went back into reveg. I'm not seeing no more new white hairs yay!!! Plot#4 has the Delahaze and critical super silver haze and they are looking fkn sweet. About 5 or 6 days ago I have the Dela 5ml of dyna gro foliage pro and today I can tell nice growth since that application. This shit is great and I may switch over to it for all the plants if it keeps doing this. Pic #1 is the Dela before the dyna gro and pic #2 is 5 days later. The Cssh is in living soil so it doesn't get synthetic nutes, only top dressing of Ewc. i also give it once a week 5ml of liq seaweed,10ml of ful-power and 1/8th of a tsp of ful-humix.I think they are really starting to take off now..I also been spraying aloe, frass, and neem ever 7 days as part of my IPM.. Pic #3 is Cssh 5 days ago and last pic is today. It has rained really well in the last 5 days so that helps a ton.

Hey guys i posted this over in nutrients and fertilizer thread so i figure i would ask here since no one there has any ideal or just not posting on it. i talked to a guy on another forum and he said he loves this product called Vitazyme. so i started looking into it but i cant find no info other then what is on their site and we all know how that goes except this 1 guy. he showed me his plants the before and after and they was fkn huge growth. i started looking what the active ingredients was and 2 that interests me the most is Tricantonal and brassinosteriod. these are all organic things as im sure u already knew. Can any of u guys tell me if u have any experience with this? its organic and OMRI listed. im gonna get it regardless and test it out bc i was gonna get Snow storm Ultra which is Tricantonal anyways so i will just get this. here is the ingredients let me know your thoughts??
i talked to a guy on another forum and he loves the stuff and his plants was huge. he said it was the biggest his Og has gotten before and he has grew it several times. here is the active ingredients and what interests me the most is the brassinosteriods & tricontanol bc i have did a bit of research before on both these products and it seems promising its organic and OMRI listed as well. Ebay got a 8oz bottle for $12.95. here is the post from a guy on other forum talking about this product when asked if it was worth the money.

"Works extremely well! I received it on Friday and mixed one ounce into a litter of water. The directions was a little confusing but I did the best I could considering I wasn't spraying acres. The next day I saw great results, everything on the plant got bigger and greener. The leaves was way bigger then the day before almost like a cartoon or something. Couple of plants were sickly and weak as OG Kush tend to have a few like that, but even those got dark green and healthy. I will post pics soon. This OG Kush is the biggest I've ever seen it. This is 4 days into flowering and only two weeks in veg. Not all the plants blew up like this but most look great. Way more bud sites than my last harvest which is what I was looking for. Vitazyme rocks, i'm in love with this shit! Will send pics of my other lab once I get there."

Brassinosteroids, called “a growth regulator of the 21st Century”, are effective at extremely low concentrations. At the standard 13 oz/acre (1 liter/ha) application rate, 30 mg/ha are applied, which is well within the accepted active range of 20 to 50 mg/ha. Effects on plants include: greater seed germination, increased crop yield, improved flowering, enhanced stress tolerance (temperature extremes, salinity, drought, and pesticides), increased leaf chlorophyll and photosynthesis.

* Triacontanol is a well-researched compound found in relative abundance in Vitazyme, at about 0.17 mg/ml. It can activate plant growth when applied at extremely low concentrations, less than 1 mg/ha. Effects on plants include: improved seedling growth, increased chlorophyll and photosynthesis, enhanced dry matter accumulation, increased crop yield.

i just ordered Vitazyme so i will get it next wed or thur and i will take pics of the before and after so we can compare. it will be well worth the $12.95 if it does,so stay tuned! i also got the precipatator 360 spray bottle bc im sick of these half ass spray bottles that u buy at walmart that when u even turn it on its side or upside down ur IPM spray either wont come out or it just comes out the tip,so damn annoying!

Hey guys how's it going. I just got back from the organic plot and things are moving along nicely. I'm really loving this organic soil. I've never had such healthy plants. Not even a bug bite! I told u GG i would get the pics of topping vs Fim,so here they are. i also threw the Bbhb in bc i didnt touch it no top or fim. I will from here on out only be doing Fim. It doesn't slow down growth and best of all 4 main colas as u can. the Dela that is topped just got the classic V shape which will be two top colas.. The first pic is the Dela I topped, the second pic is the jacky and I FIM it and u can see the 4 limbs going up. 2 on each side and the middle got 2 branching from it.The 3rd pic is the top view of the Jw to show health of the plant. The 4th & 5th is the Blue berry headband and I didn't top or Fim it just to see how it will grow, but it looks very good so far. It's got nice branching on it which i love. i watered in some ful-humix and foliar feed some neptune harvest liq seaweed 15ml and 15 ml of ful-power.

Edit: after looking at the FIM of the JW u can see what is 3 branches but on the back side of the middle branch is where the other 2 tops are shooting up. sorry for the shitty pic i thought i got a better view of it.

Hey Ky those look very healthy my friend! Looks like they're finally starting to take off and bush out, now the race is on! Lol. I was out working yesterday and heard a chopper flying the treetops in the woods beside me. Couldn't catch the color or anything of the heli but it was low, but flying fast. The glare of the sun on the chopper threw me off so I wasn't sure if it was LEO or not. Could you give me a description of the chopper you seen? Was it a black "bubble" chopper? Or blackhawk or what?

Damn man I can't imagine dealing with the stresses of a gorilla grow and on top of all that having the choppers flying literally ALL season. I don't wiry about police here much at all. It is the last thing I worry about. They only ever catch the massive plots in the middle of corn fields here and it's from people flying private aircraft spotting them and calling the law. I don't live in a very rural area and I much prefer growing around here then driving hours north and not cause of convienece but because no hunters or coppers are going to be roaming through here.

Great work so far!

Appalachia HIDTA

Mission Statement: The overall mission of the Appalachia HIDTA is to measurably reduce the impact of regional marijuana production, trafficking, and distribution in the Appalachia region and other parts of the United States through multi-agency collocated and co-mingled initiatives that attack, disrupt, and dismantle the drug trafficking and money laundering organizations operating within the Appalachia HIDTA area.

General Information:
Year of Designation: 1998
Geographic Area of Responsibility:
Kentucky: Adair, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lee, Leslie, McCreary, Magoffin, Marion, Monroe, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Taylor, Wayne, and Whitley counties
Tennessee: Bledsoe, Campbell, Claiborne, Clay, Cocke, Cumberland, Fentress, Franklin, Grainger, Greene, Grundy, Hamblin, Hancock, Hawkins, Jackson, Jefferson, Macon, Marion, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Rhea, Scott, Sequatchie, Sevier, Unicoi, Van Buren, and White counties
West Virginia: Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Gilmer, Lewis, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mingo, and Wayne counties
Contact: (606) 877-2100
Threat Abstract:

The Appalachia HIDTA was designated in 1998. It is comprised of sixty-five counties located within the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The designated region is located within easy reach of several large major population areas of the United States. At the same time, the area consists of predominately rural and rugged terrain with soil, temperature, and other climate conditions ideally suited for marijuana production. Demographic conditions of the Appalachia HIDTA, including relatively high unemployment and low median family income, create an environment where illegal activities and corruption can flourish.

According to eradication statistics, marijuana is the number one cash crop in the three states which comprise the Appalachia HIDTA. Kentucky's eradicated marijuana crop for 1999 yielded plants valued at $787,088,000. That amount exceeded the number one legitimate cash crop, tobacco, by nearly $9,000,000. Tennessee's eradicated marijuana crop for 1999 yielded plants valued at $628,226,000 which surpassed all other legitimate cash crops individually with the closest being tobacco at $217,429,000. West Virginia's eradicated marijuana crop for 1999 yielded plants valued at $70,728,000. The total value of all other legitimate cash crops grown in West Virginia combined ($57,290,450) does not reach the cash value for eradicated marijuana. A total of 1.6 million cultivated marijuana plants were eradicated. Within the past year, a number of drug trafficking organizations have been identified as operating within the Appalachia HIDTA. The makeup of drug trafficking organizations within the Appalachia HIDTA generally consist of a loose confederation of family units and other associates cooperating in marijuana cultivation and information sharing regarding new growing techniques and law enforcement activity.

Strategy Abstract:

An Executive Committee comprised of eight federal and eight local/state law enforcement leaders from the three Appalachia HIDTA states allow a regional focus and synchronization of efforts to reduce the cultivation and distribution of marijuana within Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The manpower strength of the Appalachia HIDTA includes 105 full-time, and 595 part-time personnel utilized during intense concentrated enforcement periods. All signatories of the Appalachia HIDTA Memorandum of Understanding agree to mutual cooperation, sharing resources and intelligence information, utilization of specialized equipment, and regionalized training of personnel.

Appalachia HIDTA initiatives that implement the strategy include the three enforcement initiatives entitled Eradication, Investigation, and Interdiction. Eradication utilizes a regionally focused effort with heavy participation by the National Guard and state enforcement agencies, as well as the DEA. Investigation/Money Laundering which, because of the rural nature of the region, relies heavily on existing intelligence sources from State Police outposts, local agencies, and existing drug task forces. Interdiction focuses on the transportation of marijuana into and out of the Appalachia HIDTA region by private and commercial means.

In addition to the enforcement initiatives, the Appalachia HIDTA also includes Prosecution, Intelligence, Demand Reduction, Administration, and Evaluation Initiatives. Prosecution includes fulltime state and local prosecutors to encompass the full range of culpability of violators. Intelligence includes the Investigative Support Center (ICS) and the Marijuana Signature Lab. Demand Reduction utilizes their resources to attempt to change the attitudes towards acceptance of marijuana cultivation and use. Administration and Evaluation support all other initiatives.

Investigative Support Center:

The Appalachia HIDTA Investigative Support Center (ISC) is the centerpiece of the HIDTA as it provides the collocation and commingling of vital federal and state law enforcement personnel, and databases to assist all regional law enforcement agencies in counterdrug investigations, eradication, and interdiction. The ISC provides event and subject deconfliction services for officer safety and enhanced intelligence production; strategic intelligence for refined targeting and officer resource allocation; and in-service analytical intelligence training. The ISC provides HIDTA agencies and task forces with operational analytical support for ongoing "initiative driven" case activity through access to multiple criminal and commercial databases. The ISC provides narcotics intelligence analysis, prepares threat assessments, strategic reports, organizational studies, participates in informant/defendant debriefings, cultivates new Sources of Information (SOIs), performs post-seizure and search warrant analysis, supports large arrest operations (or "round-ups"), prepares and conducts briefings for visitors to the HIDTA, and assists in trial preparations. Additionally, the ISC conducts self-initiated intelligence analysis projects to generate leads for HIDTA investigative agencies. The Appalachia HIDTA Threat Assessment requires quarterly statistical reporting so that resources and direction can be reevaluated among the HIDTA initiatives.

Initiatives that were approved to implement the 2000 Appalachia HIDTA Strategy include:

Eradication—a multi-agency aerial and ground surveillance effort to identify and eliminate both outdoor and indoor-cultivated marijuana in attempts to combat marijuana distribution and consumption in the three states. Within the Eradication Initiative, agencies conduct operations to identify and eliminate both outdoor and indoor-cultivated marijuana by providing trained personnel and equipment to search for marijuana plots and grows and help eliminate the marijuana cultivation.
Investigation/Money Laundering—a collocated joint operation within each of the three-state areas focused on identifying and arresting persons involved in marijuana cultivation and trafficking and/or persons or businesses that are laundering drug trafficking proceeds. It conducts follow-up investigations resulting from significant seizures from interdiction efforts.
Interdiction—a multi-agency effort to investigate, identify, and immobilize inbound/ outbound major domestic/international marijuana smuggling and trafficking by focusing on highway interdiction, as well as commercial carrier and package interdiction. This includes three-state combined resource efforts on specific locations at specific times of the year. This focused interdiction effort is designed to compliment seasonal eradication efforts.
Prosecution—a joint federal and state prosecution effort to aggressively prosecute all marijuana and other illegal drug-related and money laundering investigations. It concentrates on working with the other initiatives to prosecute marijuana traffickers, cultivators and violent felons to target their equipment, property, and currency assets for seizure and forfeiture.
Intelligence—an operation consisting of the collocated HIDTA Investigative Support Center (ISC) and the Marijuana Signature Lab located in Frankfort, Kentucky. Together they provide strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence to law enforcement officers and agencies. The Signature Lab researches domestically produced marijuana in an effort to determine areas of origin and trace the trafficking routes within the United States. The ISC is charged with three primary functions, case support, event deconfliction, and threat assessment development.
Demand Reduction—an effort to reduce marijuana use among youth and alter the public consciousness that marijuana is a benign drug. It is connected through regional prevention centers in the three states and charged with stimulating the development of a comprehensive prevention program for all Appalachia HIDTA-designated counties. This is being accomplished by leveraging existing prevention resource programs and family service organizations and integrating multi-media advertisement campaigns.
Administration—a collocated group comprised of officials who are responsible for both administration of the HIDTA funds and support of the funded activities. It carries out the policies of the Executive Committee, ensures that initiatives are established and executed in an effective manner, provides program oversight, measures program effectiveness, and revises initiatives where needed. It assists in the development of new initiatives and reports periodically to ONDCP through the Executive Committee.
Evaluation—a unit located on the University of Louisville campus that serves as a resource center for the Appalachia HIDTA Executive Committee, Director, and Sub-committees for the Operations Initiative. It develops baseline data and measures the effectiveness of the HIDTA objectives as well as assists the Executive Committee and Director in data collection and analysis related to fiscal and budgetary issues.
Outcomes:

The Appalachia HIDTA has been instrumental in allowing the law enforcement agencies within the three states to focus and concentrate on the tremendous marijuana problem. Because of severe manpower and budgetary constraints, as well as the proliferation of other drugs into the area, and the growing cultural acceptance of marijuana, the participating agencies were previously unable to dedicate the necessary resources to adequately address the marijuana cultivation problem. This situation was exacerbated by a general judicial sentiment within some of the state judicial circuits that trafficking marijuana was a less serious offense than trafficking other substances. The Appalachia HIDTA has refocused the spotlight on marijuana as a serious threat to national health and well being, and allowed the participating agencies to dedicate manpower to address the threat.

Additionally, the HIDTA Executive Committee conceptualized and implemented the Marijuana Signature Lab that is the only effort of its kind in the United States. This lab mirrors DEA's efforts in their signature programs of cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin in conducting its research to determine origin and track the flow of domestically cultivated marijuana to its marketplaces within the United States and even foreign lands.

its the dark green or black one with a slideing door on the side. it could either be a chinook or the blackhawk im not sure of the make of it. it kinda looks like the one they use at the army national reserve. ya the race is on for sure. i bought some Vitazyme i want to test it out and see if it works as good as the reports. i will do a before and after picture on a few plants when i get it in so we can see if it works like it says.

Hey weg thanks for dropping in:tiphat: its the same here unless someone calls in and basically tells them where its at they dont find small patches of 1-4 plants. all my plots are different i have some plots with 2 some 3 and 1 with 4. then i have 4 single plants out by themself in another location. i also make sure that when i do put 2 or more in 1 plot that the plants are at least 10-15 foot apart and have something in the background that makes it blend in. i always search for new potential plots this year, like right now lol im always on the hunt for a new better plot:laughing:
