jamaican "lambsbread"

Sharing is caring.

Well just like my Jamaican seed I can’t use a AOC but from what I seen it’s a vary narrow leaf variety from Kalinga, Northen Luzon. I picked up seeded bud while in Palawan. The flowers are like nothing I seen before and considerably less flower time, incredible fungal resistance and cold weather resistant.

Definitely not a seed hunter but obsessed with pure Sativa high as yall may know it’s not a body thing it’s 100% mind and spirit.

All these F1 are there for anyone wanting to take a swing at fox tail 16-20 weeks of waiting.
Man I would love to take you up on that! Happy to swap as well. The longer the better for me. :)

The key to finishing long sativas I think is to just fully seed them when there is enough flower volume (so initially separate the males to avoid gradual seeding). When the seeds are ripe, so is the flower seed husk. That usually takes 6 weeks in good light. You likely know more about growing than me, but for me this has worked well in the past. I got some zamal x jamaica85/Manala to finish easily in Toronto. Amazing genes you have there in the hands of a growing master!

Best weed I ever smoked was on the beach in Jamaica after wandering around in places I had no business wandering looking for weed. Turned down a few angry locals along the way due to shit bud. I thought I might have no choice but to school one guy in the art of Tiger-Crane Kung fu. The joint I eventually got from Rasta in his shanty shack that was literally falling down around him kicked my ass harder than any weed ive ever had.... by far. This was about six years ago now. I hope that was lamsbread and seeds I have are remotely close... love seeing these posts and pics. Keep them coming!

The seeds came from lambsbreathseeds dot com.

Unfortunately, grow space is limited during the winter and I really want to focus on a true sativa. If it was spring, I might just plant them outside and see what they did.
If you want Jamaican, check out Atao Genetics. Roms. He's on here. Super good dude, and the line he has has been worked for a long time. Sativa/NLD types in general, are his thing.

Yeah she is a serious contender. What I like about the genotype is that it’s almost mold proof, the airy buds and the internodal spacing of the flowers are the key. Flower time lol never gonna happen outdoors in Canada.
This is 2023 trying greenhouse but still did not make it.

Once again not pure Jamaican here but I like this more than the Swami I have now. No offence to Swami or anyone for that matter.

Definitely the Vibes Collective have something unique. Jah bless.
Looks pretty nice at that stage, anyway. I'd love to see it fully flowered! I have a lot of different lines I've sourced in Jamaica over the past 20 years. Slowly, I'm working my way through them. Found a really nice keeper this year, and one particularly nice male which was used. Next up I'll try Atao's "Lambsbreath" line, they're sitting here waiting.

I will say I don't like the term "Lambsbreath" used to describe a strain. Every knowledgeable Jamaican I have spoken to about it, the ones I can "trust" anyhow, have all said it just refers to your best batch of the year, or for Rasta's sometimes just what they use as sacrament. Not one particular strain.

However, in the case of Atao, or someone who has been working it a long time... I get it. You have to call it something. But I think it sends a lot of people on a fishing expedition they can't really pay off.

I on the other hand have a Jamaican line I don’t call lambs bread (because I prefer to avoid the dilema that comes with the name). Jamaican is what the rasta said and I just call it Jamaican or Jamaican skunk.
Hey BC.

I think some type of Jamaican Skunk is what I am growing, too.
I don’t see mango biche/60s lambs b to be a 100% narrow leaf cultivar but I have seen many times broad leaf veg and after 7th node leaf and plant morph to a narrow leaf. The deal breaker comes with flower structure, if it’s not a long ass flower time with a fox tail wheat like flower than it’s not a true Jamaican from my pov.
I agree. I have grown some plants that looked straight up Indica until the flip. Flowering was thin leaf, huge stretch and fluffy buds. Maybe I will keep these going until I run out of room. Thanks.

Purple Skunk is pretty ubiquitous in Jamaica, at least the western half of the island.

Jamaican skunk, the smoke effect is uplifting tho some varieties have a left over narcotic effect, not 100% uplifting.

There seems to be a love-hate relation with skunk since its has been used for many shitty crosses therefore losing respect/rep amongs breeders and growers.

I cant avoid the thought of some how Colombian genetics landing in Jamaica at the peak of Cartel activity 70/80s, Colombian seeds have been exported everywhere, and if a grower wanted Colombian quality well they just started growing colombian brick seeds and mixing them with their local stash to get faster flowers...? Not implying that Colombian genetics are faster than jamaican heirlooms, but some are 12-14 weeks is less than 18-24 weeks. Also the shape of a Skunk flower is different than other landrace/heirlooms.

When you see original mango biche flowers some have the foxtails spaced out buds, one could confuse the lambs bread for the colombian or viseversa. Some skunk foxtail as well, just not the same flower shape.

What I appreciate about this particular LB line is the flower structure and with it the cannabinoid chemisitry. The gentlemen working with this genotype have done excellent job at preserving it just like it was and is.

Thanks Wolverine. The seeds came from outside of Negril. Can't getter much further west in Jamaica than that without taking a swim. Just wish the breeder didn't advertise them as JLB.
Man that's just Jamaica. Especially around the Westmoreland Parish, and most especially Negril. Unless you have a real friend there who knows weed, it's next to impossible to get straight answers. Once you've established some relationships, it gets a bit better, if those relationships are carefully selected and maintained with manners and respect. But even then, it's Jamaica. Have to pack your own knowledge, and be discerning.

I have a couple friends there. One who now lives here, he asked me to go down with him this January, but I'm not sure if I can get away that long. Plus it's country country, a weh out deh so. No pipe water. Bucket showers... I ain't fancy, but that might be too much for me. Then again, up in those hills is where you'll find the older lines.
