iPonic 600 controller

Wow thats scary. Dont strip back the wires farther than you need to and keep them neat in the box... I check and I used a 6 gauge wire, but then again i am wired up for 60 amps... Room supports 8K in lighting and some extra overhead....

If the romex is running warm you might want to consider replacing it with a #8 gauge... Anything smaller than 10 would defiantly overheat. How long have you been using that relay and whats the romex cable length?

Relay was 2months old. Romex length is about 5feet off the receptacle. Yeah it stressed me out pretty good. Going to the store tomorrow to build a fire proof casing I'm going to remount the box in. The cable never got warm. I give the ballast cords and cables a hand check daily.

Just got my Iponic 600 hooked up. Gotta say it's the FUCKING BOMB!!!:woohoo:

Have all 8 inputs in use!! Bloom Rooom lights, Veg Room Lights, dehumidifier, humidifier, Co2, exaust fan, motorized dampers and exaust fan running at 100%!!

Managed to get my 3 stages of cooling working without issue. First stage 10" Max Fan running at 60% drawing air from my lung room witch will be maintained at 70 degrees with my natural gas heater in the winter. Stage 2 the two motorized dampers will flip sealing off the lung room and opening up fresh air from outside(fan still running at 60%), Stage 3 cooling fan turns on to 100%. Slick setup, controller is a work of art!!!

Quick question, haven't had a ton of time to play with it yet but can't seem to figure this one out. Have one of my inputs as the bloom room lights and one of my inputs as the veg room lights. Everytime I change the start/end times for the lights in the veg room, it changes the bloom room to those settings and vice versa???? What am I doing wrong or what am I not selecting to be able to run two different lighting schedules???

Thanks!!:thank you:

Try designating it as a different piece of equipment. in initial setup choose On/Off and then try a schedule for that. you can then rename the channel to veglights. I believe it won't let you enter two different lighting cycles, mainly because certain equipment runs dependent off light cycles, like co2. I tried to set up 2 different co2 channels with different ppm's and it was not hearing it. basically i tried to set tank 1 to trip when the ppm dipped below 1300 with a pretty standard flow rate. I then tried to set up tank 2 to trip when the ppm dropped below 1200 with a more aggressive flow rate. That way when tank 1 runs out it automatically kicks over to tank 2 once the co2 drops below the first setpoint.

yeah it didn't work. but the unit is still awesome. Also i realized you can open up the unit and change any of the low voltage relays. So say you're not using channel 2, you can remove the send and replace it with something like a low voltage wire going to a heater or thermostat.

Ahhhh ok. Ill try redoing my veg room lights with the on/off settings then. Then try making a schedule for that. Thanks!!! Let u know how it works out :thank you:

Definitely happy to help man. I'm glad other people are grabbing this thing. I'm looking at controllers for my veg and i think i might bite the bullet and buy another one of the link4's. I really think it's worth the money long term rather than buying a sentinel or Cap. cap has a bad taste in my mouth since that lighting controller burned out. sentinel i'm just not impressed with at all anymore. I bet in the next two years, controllers like the iponic are gonna be standard and the older style units are gonna go from a $600 price point down to a $300. I'll get more out of the iponic and worse case scenario i'll have a backup incase anything happens with the first unit. I'll probably sell some of the gear i'm not using and christmas is coming up........

I think for the ultimate in grow room control there really is no other way than the Iponic 600..... And as everyone knows, having the perfect climate 100% of the time is what separates a good crop from an awesome crop!!

A solid environment is definitely a good place to start, and it rules out a lot of causes when it comes to problems. Also being able to look back and see the info it stores is a huge help in troubleshooting. When my cap blew i was able to look at the light graph and could see exactly when the unit turned on and burned out. Girl working at the grow shop tried to tell me it blew because of the hurricane, and that she couldn't swap it cus it was probably a power surge. I explained to her that it was 2 days after and my controller logs that info. idk if she believed me but she swapped it out and didn't complain. not one of my favorite shops around this area.

and i'm glad the iponic's working out for you man. it's nice having a sweet setup like that. just makes it enjoyable. opens up possibilities and keeps me informed when i'm at work. try the app out. when you open it go to manage controllers and edit. that is where you can change any features. just search link4 in the app store

good luck buddy, if you find out anything neat lemme know. i'm still figuring out little tricks to fully utilize it

Like I said, controller by itself is fucking AWESOME!!! I paid $913. Now that I have it my hands it's easily worth $2K!!!!!

Being able to go back and see exacly what the last 24 hours was like in the room is HUGE!! Then I can tell if everything is running properly and if in fact I'm maintaining a 100% perfect grow environment!!!

The APP so I can monitor and control things from my phone are just a "over the top" bonus!!! At least when I'm away, I can have a "look" in to my room and know that everything is good to go!!

Going to finish off my room this week, then do a 100% trial run with lights and cooling system and no plants making sure that's all running just the way I want:woohoo: That way when I do intruduce plants in there I know I'm good to go and not trying to figure things out with my crop already inside:tiphat:

913 is good price... Just buy online for cheapest price. Had to get manager approval at a local store to buy for 1000 USD+ tax ;-/

You can definitely get the cheapest price online. Support local business when you can tho. If its only a difference of a hundred bucks I'd rather skip the shipping process and buy local. Not saying I don't buy stuff online but keeping the shop happy has definitely helped me out. Guy at the shop near me lent me a brand new ballast out of the box when my cap lighting controller melted and fucked up my ballasts. No questions asked no deposit.

Looking for a dehumidifier to work with my iponic 600??? Seems that most or all that I've looked at either can't be turned on/off via a controller, or the ones that do have a auto restart when being turned on/off resort back to a factory default of 60% humidity and a fan speed setting on low. Preferably I'd like a energy efficient dehumidifier that will work with my controller.... any help would be greatly appreciated!!! :thank you:

It really depends how much water you need to remove.
I personally would get a Santa Fe or something more industrial than what your looking at.
There more pricey but I don't like buying equipment more then needed.
I am sure you can figure out how to get them to work together.
This is taken from the Santa Fe site.
Features:
• Controlled by a dehumidistat with settings from 20 to 80 percent relative humidity and a positive “on” and “off” setting.

So set it for 20% then have the Iponic work the on/off switch.

Sante Fe's are dope as hell. I got the Compact2 and it works amazing. This time of year i'm not really pulling too much humidity out of the room but in summer it will be cranking. I'd look into a sante fe or go on craigslist and find a larger, older analog style. Just clean it well and replace any filters that need to be replaced. Dehueys pull a decent amount of amps. I have my sante fe in the room running itself. i've looked back at the humidity reports and it holds at 50%.

So you don't bother running your Santa Fe off of your Iponic then? Do you know if its possible to run the Santa Fe off of the controller?
