iPonic 600 controller

Sante Fe is 5 Amps and the iponic handles 15. I could have, but where i mounted the sante fe, the standard cord doesn't reach. I smoked a bowl and played around with the dial on the sante fe and found a sweet spot. I intended on grabbing an extension cord the next day but my humidity has been spot on since so i never spent the time to hook it up to the iponic.

OK, I have a trigger set up for the dehumidifier so my Iponic will never see any amperage draw. Just wanted to make sure the Santa Fe was compatible to work with the Iponic 600. Guess I could just set the Santa Fe to its lowest setting and then let the Iponic turn it on/off as it needs????

Think the Santa Fe is the way to go for me, more money than I wanted to spend but look high quality, is energy efficient which is also good for me and it's received allot of good reviews!!

I couldn't really find anything middle of the way price wise so I figured get the santa fe and be done with it. Also i liked how it runs off a simple analog trim pot and toggle switch. So you definitely can just set it to Very Dry and let the controller do the work. I'd recommend the Compact over the Advance. Size being the main reason. Compact is easy to move with one person. the advance is a big fucker. Check out the youtube videos and you can get an idea how big it is. You can also duct either the compact or advance so you place it outside the room if placement is an issue.

Ya watched a few videos already:biggrin: the compacr2 is definitely looking like the way to go. All the box store dehumidifiers that are 70 pints a day run off of around 800+W. Where as the Santa fe is 70 pints a day and only uses something like 560W. So I'd say its quite a bit more efficient! Plus it will run off my controller, plus I'm sure its allot more heavy duty versus a Danby, or Kenmore something like that.

Guess I better just save my pennies for the next couple months while I don't need a dehumidifier and go straight for the Santa Fe!!!!

Get a relay for that dehumidi before pluggin it into the controller. I just got a 70 pint LG dehumidi cause I didnt want to spend a grand on a Santa Fe.... My LG has an autorestart feature which works well. The LG unit doesn't really read accurate humidity and It only really works well when plugged into my iponic unit. When plugged into the iponic unit via a relay I get all the nice dead band features and stage overrides... And its target humidity is where my sensor is (at the canopy) ;-)
Ive been trying to save up for a minisplit which is also going to dehumidify a bit so having a real nice dehumidifier is not top priority.

Hope your CAP relay for your lamps is working LandscapeEscape

My Iponic isn't running a single thing directly... Everything is off triggers so no load on my Iponic. I'll probably get a cheapy for now as I can't afford the Santa Fe and I can get a cheapy for free with my Sears points..... Just gotta find one they sell that automatically restarts where I left it so the controller can run it!!

Zink thanks man. Seems to be doing well so far. I'm probably gonna ditch the htg shades and ballasts and switch over to gavita's soon so I should be pulling less amps than the cheapo magnetics I have now. If you're looking for minisplits check out ingrams water and air. They have awesome prices and an easy website. Customer service is pretty good. All friendly with southern accents. They actually sent me a big ass heating unit with my AC by accident, if the thing didn't need 60 fucking amps I'd be set for the winter.

Led doing it right with the relays. Yeah get one that has the hose attachment, get a condensate pump or a 5 gal and put a fan pointing right at that sucker.

Has anyone else used the scheduler via the thumb drive? Or pulled logs off it? I should have played around with this earlier. I tried pulling data and the load times were pretty slow. Also the data comes through raw. As in a 1 or a 0 raw lol. I'm gonna play around with it a little more, I want to sync it up with the herbIQ program I have. Just seeing if anybody else has been fiddling

That herbiq looks sweet.
Is there a iPhone app I can get that's similar?

Sorry. I can't help with the Iponic question.
My partner doesn't think 10 lights is big enough for that unit.

if you don´t want to spend 1000 bucks you could do this whit couple items separate.
example
http://search.eim.ebay.fi/?kw=sms+alarm&ect=&elc=3&ec=&eb=Hae
some of these have moisture/flood alarm, fire alarm, alarm loops for door´s, sirens, sensors for heat, and can be controlled by phone.
also if this not enough you can buy from hardware store´s items like this http://www.auraton.pl/media/File/instrukcje/en/Auraton1111_EN.pdf
what can be adjusted to react whit temperatures or time interval´s etc... you can save 2/3 of your money if you want.

I like the iponic, but they need to redesign the software, because as it is now, it's very frustrating to use and figure out. It could be sooooo much more easy to use.

Did you ever find away to sync the too, with each other? Perhaps they could form a partnership with each other, with an online database between users.

Lastdon, the Iponic would not be as ideal for the video you posted as its a multi room setup. Major issue is there is only one sensor with the iPonic, while it can support two, its not going to split up the functions the way you would like.

Id recommend putting the iponic in a bigger single room, but the benefits of having the iponic controls could be seen on any size setup.

Im barley pushing 4K in my flower room and its keeping my powerbill down and making my plants healthier than going old school with everything on timers. The iponic staging ensures that you dont run more equipment than you need to to keep things ideal.

LandscapeEscape, yes i have pulled logs off and loaded em into excell. It worked no problem, but as you mentioned it was slow to download to the USB drive.

if i recall there were a few options of formats to download the data on the thumbdrive.

A quick update for those of you who have an iPonic unit. I just got off the phone the other day with link 4 and they provided me with some good info not outlined in the user manual regarding Advanced set points.

RAMPING:
The ramping feature which is mentioned in the manual has a fixed ramp time of 30 Mins.
You can not change this with the iPonic 600 at the moment. It will ramp between day and night set points giving you a smoother climate transition.

*QUICK UPDATE, RAMPING IS NOT FIXED GUY I TALKED TO WASNT THE IPONIC SPECALIST> ONCE ENABLED YOU CAN ADJUST RAMP TIME UNDER THE SETPOINTS FOR NIGHT OR DAY*

DIFFERENTIAL:
The differential option is vaguely mentioned in the manual as well. To simplify things just think of it as the third set point. If enabled you have Day, Night and Diff (the diff can just be considered set-point 3) with this set-point if enabled you have just as many staging options as you would for day and night.

On a side note:
If you enable the growth curve you need to program your desired settings per-week. Failure to do so will result in undesirable parameter swings as your basic settings and set points will be overridden.

iPonic also can support a second sensor for outdoor overrides.[E.G. programed not todo an air-dump if outside temperature is 40 degrees or under]

While the whole weather station cost around 1200 bucks, they also offer a secondary temperature/humidity sensor with a long cable for 100 bucks.

I wrote down the part number but lost it. Ill see if I can dig it up.

I just got one of these bad boys to one up my buddy. Its amazing but continuously hits the back button. I'm going to call them tomorrow and figure it out.
Also, I read about someone having a blower set at 60 percent and then going to 100 if it got too hot. Would you tell me how you did it?

That would be me. I honestly wish I could explain it to you. Hahaha. My electrician is a magician and made it all work. I bought a variable transformer. Then one that costs $200 to reduce speed on my max can fan. That is set to 60% fan speed and is set to one channel. Then my electrician setup a bunch of relays and shit. So one channel is full on high speed and one channel is the transformer. Both are on the low voltage outputs. Channel 7 & 8. I can try and ask him to explain it to me but it really is over my head!!!!
