Check it out I came up on this ballast today 1000 watt hps or hetal halide This can also run my light or any bigger one I want



One of 4 we need Maj The big N and I were talking about having 4 of these well now we only need three.
What do you think the reaction to a 600 hps would be to the Sugar Shacks I was thinking about making a cool tube and running a 600 for the remainder of flowering I think it would make em better (if I can keep it cool I think i can!) what do you think ?

right on nice score on the 1k ballast but honestly ive been talkn to N about the lights i think 4-5 600w hps with a Hortilux bulb would be less heat and energy use. the results should be very close to 3 - 1k lights but all that in due time . have you dosed the plants with big bloom yet on the bottle it says 1/2 cup 1 wk before flower but ive done it 2-3 days into 12/12. then i follow the directions on the bottle and dose them every other water.mine have stretched 16-18 days after about 12 days flowers start building up. they still grow some but slowly after the stretch, they also produce roots whole way through flowering. ive transplanted at begining of flower only to have container full again by harvest.

the 600w in cool tube in your cab if you can keep it cool enough but a 400w is perfect. how much space between bottom of light to top of container do you have ??? anything closer then 6inch i have problems with light bleaching on the upper leaves something to keep in mind


oops only run a 1k hps bulb with that ballast, also noticed it pulls 9.5amps becarefull or ya may blow circut breaker . the average 20amp breaker you dont want to exceed 12-15 amps or you may have problems tripn it alot. i would check whats all onthe circut the box is on now and see, you'll want to turn things off when that 1k is on for sure for sure. if you could have the box on a circut all to itself that would be ideal for the 1k light .you have light fans in the box and whatever else in the same erea on pulling amps just a word up to be careful.


preharvest flush with FF ferts 10 days before chop or untill leaves taste like water. if a fan leaf stem has a bitter taste flush longer if it taste like water then flushed good enough . oh ka lol by flush i mean water with plain ole PH'd water no ferts

Hey Maj check out the roots going off on my PF sprout I switched 12/12 last night but i will plop this little lady (hopefully) into a 1 gal bag in a few more days to finish it
I watered them just plain water yesterday when it comes time to water them again im gonna give em a good dose of FF big bloom like u said 1/2 cup per gal next time i water then 1 tblspn per gal after that.
I also have three other nutes for diffrent stages of flower
FF Open Sesame 5-45-19
FF Beastie Bloomz 0-50-30
FF Cha Ching 9-50-10
these were all part of the six pack im done with the grow big and im not using tiger bloom lol (i dont need any probs Maj ) but the other ones i have im gonna follow the feeding schedule on my grow chart for FF products

They are as follows:
1 tblspn Big Bloom per gal till the end of flower( flush)
3 weeks of 1/4 tspn per gal Open Sesame
2 weeks of 1/4 tspn per gal Beastie Bloomz
4 weeks of 1/4 tspn per gal Cha Ching
I will water every other water with plain water I know FF proudcts are strong so im only going with half the dose its calls for 1/2 tspn I dont want em to burn

Hey Maj the PF sprout has only been in the bottel 4 days wow transplanting works well lol good call. Im not going to mess with that new ballast till i get down there i dont know what kind of set-up we will have but i thought it could get put to good use somewere I got a good deal on it so i said screw it ill buyit

Hey man, im just curious how much water do you tend to feed them in the 3gal grow bags. I just wanna get an idea on what mine should be taking(3gal grow bags but i ran out of soil so i rolled em down lol).

I usally water them everyother day I stick my finger into the soil if it feels dry then i water (only till i see water coming out of the bottom) I dont want to over water I did that at first and nearly lost a plant I only feed nutes everyother watering

i actually mean the quantiity of water, do you use like 1/2 the gallon jug, 1/4, quart you know what i mean?

marly this is how i judge when to water and how much i use ive used 3 gal square trash cans to flower in. when the plant 1st gose in that container i water the next day, and usally it take around 1/2 gal to get drainage i stop watering when drainage starts. now after it stops draining i lift container to feel it's fully watered weight, every day i lift when it starts to feel light i insert finger into soil. if its dry/little moist i water again. now later in flower the plants will require more water how thirsty she is depends on the strain, schroom in 3 gal i just cut started off on 1/2 gal water and ended up almost a full gal water. my grape krush is in 5gal grow bag it started off on approx 1,1/4 gal water now its almost 2 ful gal, 1st 1-1.5 wks in the new containers they get watered every 3 days then its every other day mine are dry enough. my 1 sugar shack in 2gal bag is 36-37 days 12/12 and is taking almost 3/4 gal water it sits in a drain pan. i collect the drainage it averages 1quart drainage, if i dont collect it the plant sucks the water back up by next lights on. the reason my containers dry so fast is i drill lotsa drain holes in bottom and air holes in side of solid containers. my 1-2-5 gal grow bags have slits cut in the sides the holes and slits allow for better oxygen transfer through the soil. and soil drys faster as a result i dont flood when i water i pour evenly over the soil in 1 quart increments 99.9% of the time water runs out bottom drainage hole. if i pour to fast some times few lower spots leak some lol mostly i have n/p

A pic right before the lights came on My update on my temps is good news
nighttime temps are 68-70
my lights on temps are a steady 76 every so often it will drift to 80 but only for about 10 min till the a/c kicks back on if i crack my window i can drop the temps to 70 easy. What do you think Maj whats the best temp to run flower?

3 of the 5 shacks are confirmed female The other one and the PF are yet to be determined I just fed all of them 1/2 cup per gal FF Big Bloom and 1/4 tspn Open Sesame per gal There looking great!

The Shacks are on super stretch mode the big one is already 13" the topped one is 11 its crazy there growin a inch a day at least

In the cab plants are lookin great still waiting on two for sex but still stoked on three ladies I hope the last Shack is a male but i dont think it is best case is the PF turns out to be male and i can create a whole new breed I guess ill just see what happens

i wouldnt worrie yet about 2-3wks into 12/12 then trim the lowers that wont get much lighting

ahh i see well i have this idea let me know what u think
I wasnt going to trim the lowers off instead im just gonna let em grow, I know they wont get real big or dense but thats ok cause in not smoking them I am going to put them in with my trim at the end to make real bomb Canna-butter. Hopefully I will have enough trim and lowers to make two good batches ( 8 sticks of butter) Will letting the lowers really take that much away from the main colas?
