I see so just before i switch over to 12/12 i will take my cutting. I have been reading around and i am going to set up a sweet cheap cloning deal.
Heres a coulpe of questions
How much will the Shacks stretch when i switch 12/12
How long should i let the bottom chutes get before i chop em for cloning
Do you have a air pump in your cloning tray

How much will the Shacks stretch when i switch 12/12 = a 12 inch plant can finish 24-30 inch's, my clones average 24-26 inch. i try to keep lighting w/in 1ft of plants tops

How long should i let the bottom chutes get before i chop em for cloning = good 3-4inch needs to have few set of leaves the top 2sets should be real good to good conditation.

Do you have a air pump in your cloning tray = no i sure dont buddy i add water every day and wash the tray once a wk. i use water PH'd @ 6.5 and a mild solution of 1/8tsp/gal water seaweed extract and 1/8tsp/gal water diamond necture

And finally a overall I love taking pics! Notice the litte 3x3 on the bottom its a diffrent strain that i got from a bag up here. The quality of the bag was great so i have high hopes, I germed it untill it cracked then poped it in the dirt Today it is just poppen up out of the dirt( will be open in 24hrs for sure) I am going to try your transplanting method with this new sprout Maj I see how well it works gotta give it a whirl I might have to go drink some liters of mountain dew lol Thanks for the info Grow on dude~!

So i pinched some leaves today to see what they smell like Wow already smellin awesome Like sweet goodness!!!

I didnt think this bean would sprout, after i germed it in a paper towell I ploped it into soil and put it into the box. It took forever to pop up (probably cause i burried it half way to china lol way too deep) but now here it is:





Im pretty stoked cause i was smokin on this kind of chronic for awile before my buddy found a bean on the bottom of one of his Qp's I dont think its as killer as the Sugar Shack but its bomb nevertheless

I hope this is normal for the Shacks Maj but check out these shoots already growing strong on my first sprout



i dont know if i have the plants too close to the light or if this is just what Shacks do? All the plants i have grown in the past have grown up up up then the shoots would try to catch up. On this plant the shoots are gettin pretty long (they seem to be growing faster than the top ) I have the plants around 18-20 inches from the light this cant be to close can it? For now i am still growing/veggin/flowering all with my 400 hps. Anyways this plant is looking good and healthy And smells great!

hey buddy right on plants lookn fine yes the undergrowth is normal your light distance seems ok but if you place your hand @ plants tops how dose it feel??.

if your hand gets warm and uncomfortable then raise light some

all that side growth early on like this i contribute to fine as wine genitics, they should triple in size over the next 1-2wks

Hey Maj i just discovered that my night time temps are around 60 deg I checked them last night. Do you think thats too cold? I bet that will help bring out the purple when flowering he he!

60 wow yesire bob lol thats kinda cold,another reason why even in winter i run the lighting @ night in the flower cab. my temps during day lights off is what my house is at night when lights on +3-5 deg of house temps now during winter but summer they run +5-7,8 degrees. i keep my house during winter 68-70 degrees summer 77-78 degrees, you may wish to comsider running lights at night then your day time lights off temps shouldnt be that cold lol unless your house is that cold . if you choose to change to night lighting just readjust your timer to not shut off at normal time.
my 12/12 flowern runs 6pm-6am
my veg runs 6am-12am midnight


just a thought to help your winter temps buddy

them cold temps are contributing to a slower growth rate

Ok Maj i have a question : how do you tell if the plants are male or female before you switch them over to 12/12 You said you can see pre-flowers around the 6th of 7th set of leaves but i dont have any idea what pre-flowers look like This plant may not be old enough yet i dunno Its 20 or 21 days old?
P.S. Im taking a trip to a town 30 miles away searching for the Seaweed Extract right when i get off the computer Hope i come home with some !!!!!!!

Went for a drive and came back Seaweed less, but on a positive note i did find some of this


Its kind of a bummer that i didnt come up on this sooner but two of my plants will get to use this soil (my runt and The PF sprout)
For my next grow i will have access to all of the stuff you do Maj Cause me and the big N will be hookin a great set-up!!!!! I can hardly wait

not going to say to much it seems Maj has you headed in the right direction, ahhh cold temps + wet soil will slow growth for sure.....the runt pull it aside and feed it sepratly(sp) and a bit stronger then the the others, watch her take off.....

my opinion that one plant was topped far far to early, your plant needs to get some lower shots before taking its head off......also after taking the top off you would have had an instint cut for cloning.....also TPing in stages is a great way to build a nice solid strong root mass, but it looks to me like you skipped a size.....on the third page i think it was, you can see a tiny seedling in a huge bag it will take that plant fore ever to really get any upward growth....the upward growth of a plant does not really take off untill the roots hit what ever bottom you got them in........

Hey Jaws thanks for the info bro All info is greatly appriceated This was the first experience i have had with Topping and i agree i should have waited a lot longer. After reading alot more threads I think the way to go would be Fiming just tying em down. I am gonna get into that alot next grow I will have a better enviroment and alot more experienced growers to compare notes with. I didnt know that the plants wont grow upward alot till the roots hit the bottow Thanks for that info I will apply it to my new sprout!

ummmmmya bro a good topping point is just above the 5 node, but nothing is set in stone there.....fiming and tieing are not the same, not sure if you ment they were but thats how it ready to me.....fiming is not for a newer grower so if you try this dont be disapointed if it does not work out right the first time out....

this plant is still in a 20oz cup...



as are all of these..



point being you can grow a decent size plant in a small container, once i TP these plants the roots will be totaly covering the soil......then once i get them in there new home the will spend a few days streching out and then bammmm up they will once again......

one you go into the flower stage the root growth will slow and the strech will begin, this is known as the "streching stage" all strains do this some alot some not so much....

main point here is too make sure your root mass is of a good size before flipping to 12/12......
