Gracias for showing the beautiful place where you live.

I imagine it is even dryer nowadays with the "evolving" climate etc.
And the irrigation water is getting more expensive lately.
Your welcome my friend.

It is dry! But we have the acequias that the moors built. They channel the water from the snow melt down to the villages. We each have so much water per week, although by this time of year the acequia that runs to our place is dry 🙁.
We still can get irrigation water but we have to arrange it to be pumped from a well and that comes at a cost, though it's relatively cheap.

How good the Sierra de los Primicos looks and what beautiful plants.
The worst thing in this world is gossip and gossipers, although we prefer to ignore them than attack with dirty yoga.
Here they are also a little late but they responded well to a dose of foliar K so they are a little further ahead than yours, especially the destroyers...

Of course, the DANAs have left a trail of destruction and damage with enormous amounts of water.

Looking good cousin!

Once again the rain passed us. I lay in bed may night watching the lightening and hoping that the rain would come, but no.

A spray of foliar K.?, interesting. I gave all mine a top dressing with dried, ground banana peels about a month ago.
What did use use for the foliar application?

A big hug.

I've just been looking back through some of the older posts on this thread and seen that not one of you liked Montuno post https://www.icmag.com/threads/hombre-del-montes-garden.18123341/post-18168938 🙁

It's from you tube and the music is heavy duty flamenco, But the video shows the villages of Las Alpujarras and the simple life here. Personally I love the music but if you don't, just turn it down. It really gives an idea of where we live and why we love the place. Simple campo life.

Part of what "El Cabrero" sings in those Fandangos:
"¡La libertad y el universo!...:
La Libertad es mi Patria,
y el Universo es mi Dios...
La Libertad es mi Patria,
mi Bandera: la Razón,
mi Camino: la Verdad;
...así es como pienso yo...

(..)
Como el pájaro en el campo
le canto a la Libertad...
...como pájaro en el campo...;
no soy un águila real ni imperial,
ni tampoco un mal milano:
soy como soy...y ya está.
(...)
No te vas a llevar nada...,
el día que tú te mueras no te vas a llevar nada...,
pero eres tan tonto e inocente
que piensas que te va a librar
tu dinero de la muerte...
(...)
!!Guerra!!...
Los locos andan buscando guerra,
los cuerdos buscamos la paz y tranquilidad...;
pero los locos siempre buscan la guerra...,
así que nunca viviremos en Paz,
mientras La Tierra sea nuestra Tierra,
pues siempre hay/somos locos de más...
(...)
!!Ella!!! (mi madre)...:
Es la que me regaló la vida,
la única escuela que tuve...
Ella me puso su vida, la lluvia, el sol y el silencio, que era lo único que tenia,
para ponerme de maestros...
(...)
De tanto sufrir en la vida
tengo el corazón herido...
...De tanto sufrir esta vida...
y a cada nuevo latido
se va agravando mi herida...
...y hasta la Fé he perdido..."

"Freedom and the universe!...: Freedom is my homeland, and the Universe is my God... Freedom is my homeland, my Flag: Reason, my Way: the Truth; ...that's how I think... (..)

Like the bird in the field I sing to Freedom... ...like a bird in the field...; I am not a royal or imperial eagle, nor a bad kite either: I am as I am...and that's it. (...)

You're not going to take anything..., The day you die you are not going to take anything with you..., but you are so stupid and innocent that you think your money is going to free you from the death... (...)

!!War!!... The crazy ones are looking for war, We sane people seek peace and tranquility...; but crazy people always seek war..., so we will never live in peace, As long as the Earth is our Earth, Well there are always/we are crazy too many... (...)

!!She!!! (my mother)...: It is the one that gave me life, the only school I had... She gave me her life, the rain, the sun and the silence, which was the only thing she had, to become my teachers... (...)

From suffering so much in life I have a wounded heart... ...From suffering so much in this life... and with each new heartbeat My wound is getting worse... ...and I have even lost Faith..."

.
"El Cabrero: El canto de la Sierra":

"Dejad a mi fandango volar,
que no es pajaro de jaula;
dejad a mi fandango volar,
por qué es el mejor reclamo que tengo
para llamar a la Libertad...
...esa que nunca encontramos...."

"Let my fandango fly, that it is not a bird in a cage; let my fandango fly, why is it the best claim I have to call for Freedom... ...the one we never found...."

"Piden tierra, y se la niegan;
y la tierra la piden para trabajar...;
piden tierra y se la niegan;
pero a otros, que piden más,
que piden más armas para más guerras,
a ellos, sí se las dan..."

"They ask for land, and they are denied it; and they ask for the land to work...; They ask for land and are denied it; but to others, who ask for more, who ask for more weapons for more wars, They do give it to them..."

"En un campo muy largo...
...un arado y dos mulas...
el Sol arriba quemando,
y con un patrón analfabeto y déspota apretando...
Así es como sembré y coseché fandangos..."

"In a very long field......a plow and two mules... the sun above burning, and with an illiterate and despotic boss pressing... This is how I planted and harvested fandangos..."

The documentary ends with people in a dehesa singing the Official Anthem of the Autonomous Community that honors our beloved Del Monte with his presence:
"The White and Green Flag returns, after centuries of War, to say Peace and Hope, under the Sun of our land:
Andalusians, rise up! Ask for land and freedom! Let Andalusia be free, Spain and Humanity!
The Andalusians We want to return to being what we were ,human of light, that we gave to human, the soul of Humanity
Andalusians, rise up! Ask for land and Freedom!
May Andalusia be free, Spain and Humanity!

Buenos Dias a todo!

Well it's another beautiful day in Las Alpujarras; the sun is shining and the sky is blue. It's a pleasant 24c currently and is expected only to get up to 30 or so.

The garden continues as it should, albeit slowly. I struggle at this time of year; I hate to see the summer pass, but am desperate for the autumn/winter so that I can harvest. Plus, now is the time of the weed thieves. As you roam around the village and the surrounding lanes, is not uncommon to smell ripening cannabis. Thankfully as a Sativa grower, smell is generally not an issue and when they do start to smell, no-one is really looking for it.

So first up is the Destroyer.

I'm really pleased with the training. The stretch has about stopped now and she only comes up to just below my thigh.

All the girls got a drink of some aerated worm casting/bat guano/molasses tea a week or so ago and yesterday they all had a drink of some molasses water.

Then we have the Green haze 19 A5.

IMG_20230927_104644.jpg

Considering that this plant was an after thought and not started until the beginning of May and then suffered from white fly whilst being sat in a far too small terracotta pot, on a stone floor in the early summer Spanish sunshine, she's really come on since being transplanted into the earth.

IMG_20230927_104652.jpg

I'm really pleased I decided to keep her.

After reading the diary of cousin Montuno and his subsequent smoke reports, Mrs DM and myself are naturally very excited.

She's a little later in showing signs of flowering than cousin Montuno's was, but I put that down to 1, she was transplanted late into the ground and she "made up for lost time" by putting on a growth spurt and 2, everything is late in my garden (and at least 2 other local friends Sativa garden's) this year.

Hopefully she's protected enough from the sometimes extreme winds that blow through our valley. I should be able to rig something up to shelter her from the rains.

Then we have the Zenith 2nd pheno.

IMG_20230927_104731.jpg

She's never going to be a huge plant, but she had many weeks to go and so should eventually give me a respectable quantity of "levitating on air" pheno. I'm lucky that I have both phenos, the climbing the walls and the levitating. I'm thinking that the levitating one should protect me when i fall off the wall! 🙂.
