No, no naked tai chi on the beach, just a bit of stretching. I did see a chap on another beach the other day doing a form I didn't recognise.

I started off about 12 yrs ago doing the Zang long form (107), but when I moved to Spain I started doing Cheng Man Ching 37 step form, still Yang style though.

My first teacher here had been practising for about 35 yrs and had a degree of proficiency of several arts. She was heavily into the more esoteric side of tai chi. Her ex husband practised Crowley magic. She herself could do amazing things with her chi. She was good! I stayed with her for 5 yrs.
I then stated started training with a man that had been studying the martial side for 40yrs. This teacher was a member of the SBS (Special Boat Squadron) and used his tai chi and bagwa in combat situations!. His teacher was a lady in China called Madam Lee; I'm unable to find any information on her, but the tai chi works!.

My own background was in Shotokan karate for 17 yrs, before brain surgery put a stop to it. My Sensei was a personal student of Sensei Asano; Sensei Asano was one of the first to arrive in the UK, along with Sensei Enoda. Our training was very much like Japanese training and people got hurt. It did include proper mediation though and not just the cursory 2 minutes that most dojos seem to do. My Sensei softened in his 60's and it was no longer so brutal.

These days I much prefer tai chi and see how much more effective it is, but it takes much longer to become proficient in it as a fighting art (which I'm not!). My days of doing push ups are finished; I snapped one of the the two upper tendons of my left bicep some years ago. These days it's twice a week yoga and twice a week tai chi.

I do a bit of teaching for a few friends, but really they are only really going through the motions of tai chi. They have no interest in the martial side. We are what some call "Chi Fairies". We do a lot of Qi Gong. Everybody loves Qi Gong.

...Por que se reinagura el macrofestival veraniego "Mordor bajo el Sol"...
..
.Because the summer macro-festival "Mordor under the Sun" is reopening...

...Once again, the festival arrives in the Cordovan countryside (just south of my part of the mountains) before any other area, and the main stage of the festival will be installed there... 113°F in the shade they wait...(in my area, we won't go above 109'5°F)...
...The organization of the festival says that if this summer the previous 48°C / 118 °F can be exceeded, a trip to a cooler tourist destination will be raffled to escape the heat... like Marrakesh, for example ...

...And some breaking news, about the fire this noon of a bus full of festival visitors in Córdoba city:

Very very interesting hombre! I know what you mean health wise unfortunately. My days of hard martial arts is over. I trained very old school in a southern Chinese style. Belts did not exist, then an okinawan style karate which is more like tai kwan do. I’m glad you can continue with the tai chi and you have bounced back from surgery. Chi can only help.

I wish I could have psychedelics. I’ve just started a journey of meds that I’m not sure would mix well. I hope you post up some experiences. Living vicariously is my limit for now. Have fun at the party..

Too bad for the cousins who stay in the sun ... Somewhat cloudy appeared here , the worst is the humidity .
Take the opportunity to get up early, do homework and fresh air.

The plants will not move from the site

Our Ayuntamiento dams up the river each summer and many of the locals spend the afternoon swimming and lounging on the bank.

@el mani , your plants are looking very vigorous. Handsome looking dogs too!

Good Party last night! As expected, all the usual suspects were there.

I took with me a jar of a special party mix that I had made; 50% Zacateca Tribute cob and about 25% each of Golden Tiger cob and Mulanje x Malawi/Ethiopian cob. I left it on the table and just told people to help themselves.
Later in the evening I had several people telling me that they'd not smoked anything like it for many years. :)

Ohh, one can smoke cob also?
Thought cob is for eating....

@Hasch if i remember correctly brother Tangwena says that in Malawi it is predominately smoked, but that the medicine men/healers eat it.

Most of my friends like to smoke or vape it (as do I, though rarely these days).

But for a real hit, then eating it is the way to go.

Mrs D DM and myself are old crazies for sure. To the outsider we look quite like regular retired folk, perhaps a little alternative but certainly not like serious dope fiends. Sometimes were out and about and are stupidly high but without the wasted expression or the smell and no one has the slightest idea.

Last week I was on the beach sunbathing, and it felt like the towel I was lying on was taking off. The initial rush of good cob coming on is very special.

@Taima-da it was a great night. Only about 50 select people at it's busiest, no dunks and most of them off they're head.

And only 5mins walk from our house!
