Holy grail Mr Nice.

I can explain the connection:
Nevil came back into the public eye as a guest of Shanti on the MNS forums to announce that he was going to start breeding again and that his focus would be to create a new super Haze/sativa hybrid.
He called this breeding project "The Holy Grail."
After a few years on the MNS forum as his guest, Shanti asked Nevil to leave the forum because Nevil was selling seed to Shanti's customers under the table in violation of an agreement they had. We can only assume this negatively impacted their old friendship.

Meanwhile, down under . . . Nevil worked on his Holy Grail project for years with genetics donated and sold to him from passionate growers around the world, but died before he ever released the results of his Grail project to the public.
On Nevil's death, Shanti posted a scorching rebuke on his forum for people that were popping up on the internet seeking to exploit Nevil's death for their own profit.
Shortly afterwards, Shanti announced a new ultimate strain he had developed and called "The Holy Grail."
People in Nevil's life near the end say that Nev finally found/achieved/created his Grail and it was something called "Outback Haze."

This thread is about Shanti's Grail.
During the course of discussion, it seems inevitable that the Original Grail by Nevil would come up and comparisons made.
That's where we are now, the suggestion of a side by side grow of the 2 lines has been put forward by me, with the hopes that people who have the means and interest to make it happen might like the idea and help make it a reality.

Hempy is confused because now that he is done talking about "Outback Haze" he doesn't think other people should be doing it because . . . "off topic."

Hope that helps.

This back and forth is amusing lol. I’m just a retired guy who smoked his first joint in ‘64 that LOVES smokin’ and growin’ da shit. I prefer not to listen to the noise as it is often misleading. Sadly, money fkd it all up. When I find something of interest, I buy it and grow it out and then decide if it’s good based in my preferences and past experience. Common sense dictates that personal experience is the only way to find out what is real or not.

With all the choices of different hazes out there, common sense also dictates that you need to research what you will buy. The only way to do that is by reading threads such as these. I am a hobby grower and can't either afford many seeds, or have the space, to grow out many plants to find out what is good or not. Not to mention the time to grow haze, properly cure it.

I doubt I will buy grail seeds and i am happy with the haze seeds I do have, but these threads are still valuable for the general information, provided you can work out the difference between honest opinion, egos, and marketing.

As I understand, the strain description says the mango haze that was released is NL5Hz 122 x SkHzC.

From the strain description:
"This strain is a parallel line to the Super Silver Haze, i.e. it has the same Haze father and the mother is a sister of the SSH"
Yes, and that is the description that Nev used on the forum to describe it as well . . .
that the only difference between them was which NL5 Haze mother was used to make the hybrid.

But Shanti has been consistent in all of his forum posts over the years about the pedigree, that the male is Skunk Haze A.

So what that tells us is that it's not the same as what he and Nev originally did, but Shanti's version is what he thinks is the best.
I guess the real question is if it's the same today that it was in 2005, but I'm not trying to go there mate.
If somebody wants the best Mango haze available today, Donald and others have had great results from Shanti's "Mango Haze Inbred Line." That endorsement is pretty strong.

I would think someone wanting a pack could just PM Sarah on Shanti's forum if they don't get lucky and find it up for auction.
Fast/Good/Cheap (pick 2).
If you want quality and you're in a hurry, you'll pay full price.

I only know ~2013 on…seems good smoke to me. Lovely bouquet as per namesake. Based on 2/3 a pack of plants, the regular line holds more phenos, a little something for [almost] everybody. flowering times up to ~3wk different, some with haze structure/high/terp profile, others more NL5 faster/fatter/sedative.

The IBL is more homogeneous by the sounds (edit: duh!), but the effect is still quality, and, as you highlight Raho, well-endorsed. 😉

Nevi actually made something else he referred to as his grail ....a pure sativa line...something he called stage 1.

I’d like to hear more about stage 1. In the meantime, it looks like the MH IBL is currently being offered up in auction. Single file please lol.
That's AWESOME !
Thanks for the heads-up
I have heard it's already over 200€

Nice that Shanti has a 30% off coupon going right now, but that has got to be more than MNS would charge if someone just PM'ed Sarah and asked her to sell you a pack, right?

Do you think they might throw a few more packs up at the same time?

Nevil had kids right? I imagine that they have not followed the work of their father...
So there are no seeds of your latest projects, right?

HolyHann which I believe is half holy grail. Wanted to take a pic of the structure (I think it’s really nice) before I up pot it from her 1 gal fabric pot (3 or 4 weeks before pistols showed). Now topped and in a 3 gallon. She is a stunner already even sitting next to a BH7, a couple of destroyers and a Thai x Panama. Hoping she is a winner @RandyCalifornia

I have not grown the released version no need when i have the test seed version.

Jesse grew both the test seed MangoHaze and the released version he liked the released version very creative energetic type high but not as strong as the first version.
this sort of posting always makes me giggle a bit ,
the question is ,
how would jesse know what he grew isnt as strong as the original test version ,
if he never grew the original , and u never grew the released version ,
its all just this crazy "i had what no one else had" kind of posting ,
one upmanship basically , stuff from mns that should have stayed there and never crept over here ,
but of course no one gets enough attention there , so they gotta spew their rubbish over to these boards so as to continue arguments and bragging ,, its pretty funny , but also childish and shouldnt be part of our forums where we share and dont think we are better because of being somewhere or doing something others have not , we can just share information and experiences without doing that crap ....

I like it when MNS people come to ICmag Don.
Ultimately people are attracted to places with more freedom.
There are rules here too though, and people should learn and live by them here. Everyone benefits.

For the sake of this thread, long off the path charted by it's original questing knight . . . what were we talking about? Something about a grail?

MNS citizens should start threads to discuss MNS stuff in the MNS section, right?

yes thats correct it does say that there ,
i was just going on the previous statement made by him where he said 10 people were selected to grow it and he was the only one that finished it then the recipe for the mh was changed ,
so i dont know how/when jesse grew it,
its hard to keep up when the goal post changes ,
but you are right in what you said and i should have read that post more carefully...
