Hi all. I plan to use tap water 140 ppm 0.3 ec with 6/9 in coco. I know its strain depending but do I need to buy cal mag products or this will be enough to keep plants healthy without cal mag def?
I keep a bottle of cal-mag boost handy depending on strain but I normally just run strictly 6/9 with Epsom salt 1gram/1 gal. I've had to substitute the Epsom for Cal-mag Boost 2.5 ml-3 ml/1 gallon on a heavier Indica strain. I always make sure to get a good amount of runoff on each feed when doing so too. I'm having amazing results using heads formula in 3.5 gallon hempy style buckets. Half way through flower and looking beautiful as ever! Have pix how do I post them? Used my phone when I go to upload it ask for URl?

I'm trying the formula.
I noticed within a week of dropping micro leaves start yellowing up and up high the under side of leaf stems are purpling up along with upper stalk.
I tried using koolboom with 0/9 but it seems to cause a large ph drift.
I was expecting ph draft with 0/9 but it stays very solid.
These red purple stalks and leaf stems and veins.I think it's N defiency, but given diet is it normal?

I guess I should ask, does the above seem normal using formula?
Leaves yellowing so fast after going to 0/9 and what about red veins and leaf stems and red upper stalks?

Yes, maybe...

Sounds like your ladies need more N. I no longer cut out the micro. I feed 6/9 up to last week then flush.

I would wait longer before cutting the n.

H3ad summarizes formula on page 12-14 and using just 0/9 seems a bit unusual.
I was concerned ph may drift, but it stays very solid.I let mixes sit for at least a day if base is altered.
Also with 7-10 days on all but one,has perlite in it,starts yellowing up but that might be a very good sign.Fan leaves start yellowing up but evenly and just a few at a time, then whither up and fall off.So basically it's eating itself and getting rid of micro.
It's a catch 22 and it'd be nice if h3ad made another summary.
There's other threads that say their using h3ads,but the 0/9 is never used.I always thought it was 6/9 until I read summary
Im curious if flora grow could be used after micro is dropped to help yellowing. That way no more micros are getting stored??

My take is you will have to adapt. Too many variables.

As for cutting anything, I believe H3ad confirmed he sacrificed yield for quality. That is one choice.

There there is the idea of 6/9 until some final flush, the duration of which can impact on quality/quantity.

Depending on strain and resulting growth rate from environment, its hard to say exactly when one can cut N without too big a swing from quantity, or possibly affecting quality.

If you have a high flush media/small pots, for example, you may need to wait longer before dropping.

So, dropping N is optional. If you choose to do this you have to watch how plants react and adjust. If you have a 9 week strain and they go yellow at week 5, days after dropping N, I would say you dropped it too soon.

HTHs, and let me know if you find perfection. I did not like seeing the plants yellow and found it a hassle to maintain two feed solutions so now just a final flush.

is head still around on forums anymore or he long gone?.. I just got gifted some casey jones.. just wondering the flower time.. and if they had phenos that did more then one. because the guy I got it from. gave me casey jones a b and c.. said from the original pop from HEAD.. so ?

The H3ads haven't been around in some time. Although this recipe recipe lives on. If you can tweak this properly for your own garden with proper equipment and environment, then all u need is genetics to grow bomb ass herb.
I actually use that rat fuck Rezs recipe. Shit works though,

Hope the gardens are full for spring...

I found my formula seems to perfectly equal Heads Coco target.

Fulvex .5ml
Calmag 6ml
Sweet 5.4ml
Aqua flores a 2.67ml
Aqua flores b 13ml
Nitrogen boost 9.8ml
1gm epsom salt
And olympus ph up roughly 1.13ml

I use a modified H3ad's formula, and I think you adjust it to meet your target number.
Day 40 since sprout!
I run a 10 gallon rez, Blumats, Canna Coco 5 plant vertical with screens.
My target is 450 to 550 ppm @ 5.8 to 6.0 pH.
To achieve that my water is either rain water, 15 to 30 ppm @ 5.3 to 5.4 pH. Or I use RO purchased water, no better, only cleaner looking, LOL! In my rain water I have a 3/5 ml Micro/Bloom with 1 gram Epsom per gallon, along with 8ml Cannazym, 2ml SM 90, 0.4ml Drip Clean to get to 500 fairly consistantly. My pH after all is mixed is around 5.4 so I use GH pH up.
That's it, so far no burn tips or overly green leaf, the healthiest plants I have grown to date.

Will flip between 8 and 16 days want to see if I can coaxed a little more height from the Blue Cheese.
