I cut 3M furnace filter, doubled it up, and taped it over all the intakes. Prolly swap it out once more mid-flower.

are the furnace filters black to stop light?

my mate has a green room and sooo much worth the extra mooney than homebox, it is lightproof unlike what someone said from the pic without actually seeing one in person.... it also has the flaps at the sides fr access when its full up-so u aint reaching in to get to the back. This is the growtent i WILL be buying for use as a veg room.

Ive got a mini greenhouse(one that fits 1 growbag) which i covered in reflectix to use as a start/mom box and its great for a cheapy.... so homemade is fine and great, but ill be buying that greenroom so i dont have to homemake a bigger one lol....

Never believ what one company says abouyt another companies products-unless they back it with pics of the alleged problem(like the budbox leaking loadsa light through the zips for example-homebx advertised this fact but backed it up with pics, and re-named the bud-box the bad-box lol) they are always going to say his is crap buy mine instead

the amount of light going up above the refletor should be negligable- if its a lot of light id get a better reflector......

My experience so far with the hydro hut has been great except for the light leak issue... while there have been some suggestions made so far :

1. Close the flap that leaks light (that restricts air)
2. turn the flaps toward the wall (will not work with my setup)
3. AC filter (how will this light proof .. wont the light go through the white filter?)

Anyone have any other suggestions? My flower cycle is waiting on this .. thx

the best thing you can do is tuck the flaps behind the extra floor so that the velcro will hold it closed to not let light in, iv done this to all the flaps and have no problems with it reducing air flow

hmmmmmmm. ... was thinking of getting 1 of those

For one of these, does it work similarly to a carbon scrubber. By this I mean, do you need a fan to suck air through the unit, or does it simply just sit and filter the air in a contained volume?

my uvonair has a Pc fan that pushes air around a UV bulb making ozone, it dos not filter the air.

Flaps in home boxes:

I just keep the plants board/ trays on a level about 1 foot or 2 above the bottom. This way any incoming light should be below the pots and don't matter too much. Been growing in an XL box (120x120x200) for a year now, and I use any of these combinations innit 400w-600w-400w+600w (all 400HPS in batwing and 600Gavita Reflux600 IR (reflector in bulb).) -I'm thinking of rather go with 2x400hps in there, but I need to get adjusted to the new setup I'm getting.

Good luck building tents

No, but they are thick enough.

The tent is in my "cab room", and it has a window but it's covered and dark in there. I don't have to worry about light leaks as much as you.

I think I'm going to velcro the front and top flap just to keep things tight.

The flaps on my tent don't exactally reach the flooring on the inside enough to tuck in and stay stable. I tried, they flop out again in a few minutes. Maybe the Vortex pulls too much air, I can feel the flow around the intakes.

Can you explain your setup a little? Where is the tent, the living room? :joint:

What about running the lights during the day and off at night, and having the tent in a seprate room? Velcro them? You're talking about minimal leakage here unless it's in a bright room. Get started for xmas!

Nice One StretchPuppy! Nam-myoho-renge-kyo!

Here is my progress at about day 10 of 12/12 I think.

distorted photograph because of light bulb. Anyone else using over 1000w in their hydrohut, I want to get another bulb to have two bulbs in there. Maybe next run this is fun using this box and so much cleaner I think since it comes with a big enough mini inner pool to catch water and help create moisture to work better with the co2. I can use a room to grow and also bloom with this great invention. I'll post again when I have better pictures later in bloom.

how are these grow rooms with containing odor from leaking out... not the filtered air that goes to exhaust... say for instance you have an oscillating fan in there circulating air in the tent... obviously some of it is going to escape through the zippers/intake vents right or would the suction from exaust prevent this?

Looking nice and lush easydisco. I just read a post about mounting two 600s versus a 1000w in a 4x4 space. People were leaning towards the 1k...

Personally I would consider running a HPS/MH for a full(er) spectrum...

When I upgraded to digital I most certainly should have went 600w instead of 400w...

A 4" Vortex mounted in the tent pulls from the light, and pushes out the top through ducting connected to a CAN 9000 which sits behind the tent on a shelf.

The exhaust always runs, so it's always scrubbed. If the exhaust was turned off some odor would leak, but as long as it runs it's odor free.

I do have a couple clip fans attached in the top corners blowing air around...

This worked great in a 3000 sq ft warehouse! I used multiple tents and even had a tent for mommas, and for drying. Most tents had 4x400 watt air cooled Hydro Farms HPS, running about 1650-1700 ppm CO2. Temps avg around 77F.
with a 1200 cfm Charcoal filtration exhaust.
