This was a really informational thread. I have always been interested in getting a Hydro Hut and some of the setups on here look really nice. I am making a trip to the store today and probably will get a HH. Stay blazed.

I'v had my Hydrohut for a long time... i bought my hut when they first came out.
befor i use to kill myself trying to seal and light proof the shit out of my garage!
here go's my hydrohut grow room over the years. This grow was in soil, Ocean forest soil.








I call this one overkill! 4' Ak-47's veged wat to long.

This is when i had both rooms as flower rooms and i had all my mothers and clones all out all over the 4'x8' tabel




Then i cleaned everything up and went hydro as ypu could see i was still constructing the rooms











Well there it is... as you could see the hydrohuts have been very good to me. I plan to construct a bio system in the near future.

I decided on the HH Mini with a 400w Lumatek. I haven't set anything up as of yet but please excuse my blatant imitation of some of the great ideas I have picked up on this thread . Going for a soil micro grow with a OG Kush bagseed seedling and a Bubblegum seedling from Serious. They're under CFL's at the moment in a DIY grow cab. Wish me luck.

I got a 4 X 8 hydrohut. 1 zipper is broke. Easy fix but I just put that side against the wall and tape it. Willing to trade... Im in the sf bay area. thanks

can anyone put up pics of how to fully lightproof a hydrohut? i need to know what supplies to get and ensure no light leaks whatsoever. to test the lightproofness of the tent stock, i noticed that the front zipper leaks at the top and bottom as well as the intake flaps, so i know velcro would be a good idea with the whole negative pressure thing.

if you velcro the sides of the flaps, how do you make sure to lightproof where the air comes in while still allowing for proper flow? also, what is the best velcro adhesive to get? price? where to purchase?

IMO you don't really need to "fully lightproof" a HydroHut unless those tiny, tiny leaks are in a very awkward place where a lot of sunlight shines through it. The tiny amounts of indirect artificial light (mostly from sources such as 23w CFL bulb many feet away) leaking through isn't going to make a difference.

Hey Tenters - I recently bought a Phat filter, but it was so heavy I've now bought a hydrogarden carbon filter stand. Just in case anyone was curious to know if such a thing would fit in a tent, here you go:




space isn't such an issue for me anymore as I'm using my two tents for a perpetual grow, but the stand has a relatively small footprint and it'd be easy to grow a plant or two in that space under it.

Hey Sammet, You answered a question of mine in another thread. I have a hydrohut mini 3.5 x 3.5 x 6" I got it with the 600watt cooltube. My question to you is, when you were using the 4" system, what size carbon filter were you using? Also, how was your smell? Did the carbon filter do the job?

Like I said before, I can't find out later that it didn't get rid of all the smell.

on that Light Leak topic: I have my HHM is a large secret walk-in closet/room, but I made it light proof just incase.

I only have one flap open, the other 2 flaps are sealed with velcro and the layer of AstroFoil keep them sealed tight. I think the astrofoil is a must have for all hut users imo.

I had some 8"x8" dark room vents left over from a C13 cabinet and thought id try and use them on the open vent flap. I cut a whole (same dimensions as the flap opening) in the astrofoil and inserted the 2 vents between the foil and tent surface. It works perfect, and the airflow is still strong.

On the front bottom zipper area(exterior), I cut an a "I" shaped piece of heavy black fabric. 10" tall... Using the velcro, i attached it so it folds and covers the entire bottom area, blocking all light. I zip up the tent, and flip over the "I" fabric and latch it to the opposite side with the velcro. simple, but it works. PM me if you want pics.

i am ordering a hh mini. should i order the 6" double flange kit and cut to fit or are 4" holes enough? my choice of lights are [600 hps air-cooled] or if too hot [430 hps air-cooled]. anyone have any thoughts?

to the people who are running 3x600w or 2x1000w in a deluxe, what are you using to cool them with???


how does this setup sound?? ambient temps around 70 atleast until summer than will install AC but 3 x 600w lumatek digital in cool tubes, air sucked (70 degree) from outside cab through 3 cool tubes and vent through a can66 into a seperate room

odor is controlled by 449cfm fan - 6 inch can66 vented into same room as HHdeluxe but if heat becomes an issue i can vent into another room aswell

anyone see any problems with this?? thanks

oh and I have 30 days to return anything if need be.. i was thinking maybe upgrading to the 8 inch HO fans.. has anyone modified the tents to 8 inch vents?? i am thinking the 449 cfm fan won't be enough to cool 1800w.. i would only like to go up a couple degrees if possible?
