Hello Mr Pistil!
Great job!
I think your Mountain Gold is happily praying under the LED grow light with really wonderfully beautiful serrated leaves.
I will definitely be looking forward to more updates on her! specially as she gets sexier! HAHA
How long did you veg her?
Thank you for sharing!

VTman i had a question for you. I have a few mountain golds and zacatecas vegging with my purple satellites in the grow room. I know you recommend gradually reducing the light periods for flowering, which I plan to do, but will that in any way negatively affect the production of the other strains? As I mentioned on a different forum I planted the PS without reading that its mainly an outdoor strain, but they are looking great and i plan to keep them. Im one of those sloppy growers that tries to pack the grow tent with as much variety as I can and just wanted to make sure they would respond well to the 15 to 12 hour light cycle

If you drop right to 12/12 the Satellites will develop herms on their tips if you
seed finder- {ONE WORD} and
Purple Satellite there is proper light reduction schedule laid out there.
The only way Zacateca and Mountain Gold will be affected is that they probably will take a bit longer to flower but over all you should get a better yield on everything if you do follow that light regime.
And of course you can shave it down slightly shorter, but I cannot tell you by how much.
Hope that helps!

THANK YOU!!!

PSat and GrapeBoth did very well in the climate here in Maine 43 degrees North, quality, yield and resistance to all elements. The effects of both strains are very nice and will grow again for sure.

Purple SatelliteIn terms of growth both Satellite and Grape matured in September or slightly latter, were on the purple side with full buds that were able to ripen completely. Have not tried yet but hopefully as the description says will be up beat similar to the great... Read more

I bought Green Grape because of its earliness and wanted to be reminded of the unique Mexican Sativa's that I experienced in the 1970's. Buds were done with complete maturity by September in New England. No mildew or bud rot. Thank you, Mandala.

Magnificent Mandala!Mandala has always been one of the best. Their genetics are top notch. Recently, they're one of the few companies that will still send to the U.S. Ordered some of the Green Mountain Grape, honestly it's rare to find such distinctive, high quality seeds... Read more

LAZYFISH
Purple Satellite was a pleasure to grow. The 3 plants I grew all had the same characteristics. They all had the same growth structure, dark purple stems, and the final product was a lovely lavender colored bud. I topped them multiple times to produce more tops. They responded well and all the tops ended up nice and fat and heavy. I have a short growing season and it can rain a lot spontaneously. I never broke a branch because of the rain. There were no white mold issues. I had caterpillars/budworms really bad that year; all my plants had them. I can’t say if this plant is better at withstanding those but the worms were easier to spot against the purple buds!!! I had white mold really bad that year too but there was none on the Purple Satellite. I had very little bud rot but that is pretty typical in my cold wet climate with bigger colas.

The smoke was not terribly strong but very noticeable and enjoyable. Kind of a middle ground sativa smoke that doesn’t send you sky high with half a joint, but it also does not seem to have a ceiling. Great if you are working around the house or getting outdoors or sharing with friends. I actually had to harvest a little early because of the freezing weather (she survived 2 or 3 nights just below freezing). I think the buds could have ripened for a couple more weeks.

10/10 for my overall satisfaction with Purple Satellite. I was really looking for IBL and landrace type sativas and this one really made me happy. Good bag appeal, fat buds, classic sativa high, easy to grow - what more do you need?
Happy Growing.

FIRST SMOKE
After watching several grows of Purple Satellite on line, I purchased 2 packs of seeds.
These plants have GREAT vigor. They grow at a steady rate. There is very little variation between the plants I grew.
Without doubt the most Beautiful Cannabis plants I have ever grown.
I grew 4 plants each yielded me 4-5 oz of Prime Bud.
Smoking the Purple Satellite matches the experience of growing them.
Very potent Sativa with no sativa wave of anxiety. A great high which is reminiscent of some of the better smoke I had back in the 70's and 80's when I was very lucky indeed.
I recommend this variety completely.

PURPLE SATELLITE

OAXACAN GOLD PURPLE LINE X BLUEHEMPS BAGLUNG SATIVA

Fully endorsed by ACE SEED CO the most reputable Sativa seed source,

and available on their site under the logo

GREEN MOUNTAIN SEEDS

Purple Satellite got its name for it's purple spear shaped buds that aim towards the sky. and Satellite because of it being the first time seed release by Green Mountain Seeds.

Purple Satellite grows to it's potential by being started indoors in early April under 24 hour light cycle, and moved outdoors after last threat of frost their final pots of 30 liters and can benefit from having pots partially buried in good rich garden soil, for further root penetration.

Purple Satellite outdoors finishing at latitude 42 north, from early to late Sept making Purple Satellite the earliest pure Sativa in its class for the most northern gardens.

Outdoors she is very mold resistant if you mind your nutrients starting early flower.

Purple Satellite is not prone to hermaphrodite but,

Indoors Purple Satellite takes special skills to flower properly. She does best under 360W per three square feet of red heavy LED grow lights at a flowering initiation time of 14/10 light cycle or the first several weeks. Then graduating down to 13/11 for a few weeks then down to 12/12 to finish. This comes from the Nepali side o the strain being adapted to growing in the most northern regions of Denmark where the summer day length is very long.

Purple Satellite also can be grown outdoors and brought indoors during mid flower after stretch for also exquisite results. Again under red heavy LED grow light at 13/11 for two weeks and then 12/12 to finish.LED brings on the most intense purple coloring out in the buds.

Basic / Breeders Info
Green Mountain Grape is a mostly sativa variety from Green Mountain Seeds and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±65 days), outdoors and in the greenhouse. Green Mountain Seeds' Green Mountain Grape is a THC dominant variety and is/was never available as feminized seeds.
Green Mountain Seeds' Green Mountain Grape Description

GREEN MOUNTAIN GRAPE is a 80 to 90% Sativa
Developed for far Northern outdoor growers with discerning taste.
coming in amazingly fast from the end of August to Mid Sept. Though the bud coloring is far less purple outdoors, because she comes in well before the cold weather sets. She sometimes grows with fuchsia pistils and the plants have purplish/blueish hue with burgundy coloring running up the stems.

The plants structure is upright and are largely self supporting, but with some stretch from the heavy Sativa influence, the tight buds form densely up the whole stem, making manicuring a breeze.

Green Mountain Grape also shines indoors
growing beautifully under LED grow light which really brings out the deep purple in her solid chunky super frosty easy to trim spears coming in at a fast 9weeks from light switch.

Resistance:
Botrytis: Outside, medium to high, sensitive to unusually wet late season weather, but can be harvested early because of the great bud density without much detriment to quality. 2018 was wettest on record and bud loss outdoors was about 2%
Mildew: High
Mite: High
Culture Ease: Easy but does better with organics, or light nutes.
Outdoors: Very early, from the end of August to late Sept.
Indoors: 8 to 9 weeks The Sativa can bring on some stretch but moderate.
THC: Very High, not tested, up to 19%?
Fragrance: grape, fruit, floral candy

Taste: Spicy, sweet ,floral, grape.
High: The effects can be very introspective and socially upbeat, with laughter inducing thoughts. The buzz can be enjoyed all day due to having no ceiling to the high. An extremely pleasant ride with an easy come down and no burn out.

I'm getting itchy trigger fingers in regards to the PS. Will be clearing out some of my stuff in flower over the next two weeks but then I need to pop some of those PS beans for the outdoor season. I'm thinking 4 ought to be enough to guarantee at least a female or two. Still debating if I want to do a couple more of the Erdpurt/PS cross as well which was a lovely plant, but more of a medicinal smoke.

Hey Tex!!
It's definitely planting season.
Odds are good with four seeds I would say.
Is it feeling at all like Spring there?

Still a spot or two of snow where the plow pushed it up. But lovely 70f today, then turns cooler again for a couple of weeks.

Zacatecas are coming along. They are very well behaved, although my soil mix remains a touch hot I think so I've got some mild clawing. I need to remedy that this spring as I get my next round going.

Anyhow, no real aromas yet, but they are starting to fill out.

Yeah, not as stretchy as I thought it would be, and they are done with that phase already.

On another note, no luck trying get two of those purple Mexican IBL seeds to pop. Maybe I will stick another couple of seeds in though. I like the old fashioned dirt method, but maybe will try the damp towel route and see if it's a tough shell problem. I'm trying to keep my plant counts reasonable so I'm planning carefully this spring. I wish I could just pop a few dozen and have a big pool to choose from, but marital harmony must be maintained. :D

Well I hope they are not bunk there are some real scammers out there and no shortage of them.
I cannot even think about popping them for another month. Are you keeping the temp up for germination?
How many days so far?

Well around two weeks I guess. I did not have constant and consistent heat on them, but they did stay warm during the day. Usually this works great but not this time. Had trouble with two other seeds elsewhere in the house too so I don't know...
