Have you smoked any of your GT? I will be honest, my first run did not turn out as nice as yours. I had a lot of things go wrong during the summer, primarily, we went from mid 80 temps, then shot up to 106F without warning. I couldn't get home in time to move them to the shade and once the leaves burned to a crisp, they never really recovered or put out more leaves, as the buds were already pretty big and formed. We hit that temp several times during the summer. Don't get me wrong, these plants love the heat and can tolerate it, but I believe any plant needs to harden a bit before being exposed to that kind of heat. In fact, I even planted seeds during the heat and they did fine, adjusting to the heat without problems, but if they are used to a cool environment and suddenly thrown into extreme heat, I think any plant will be adversely affected.
Can't wait to get a smoke report on the different pheno's you got after the cure!
Peace, God bless

Here's the scrog....
I'm kinda wondering when to flip. In another week or two it's gonna get pretty messy again. I figure wait till most/all tips are growing vertically for at least two or three inches? Maybe look for shoot tip stems to thicken enough?
I figure there are very few "holes" left and now I just need to wait until the best moment to flip.
Scrog masters throw some advice at me! Tell me where I went wrong already and how to fix it:)

Or I could flip in like.. two or three days and just feed the stretch massively with fish hydrolysate. Would the least developed nodes explode with enough growth to at least give me some 2 or 3 inch tall buds?
Maybe if I top the biggest tips so others catch up? I want a screen full of fat buds not just some colas shading a bunch of little nugz...

Man.... I get so nervous setting up scrogs. Its so much work to manage getting them even and full and I just hate the idea of screwing things up right at the beginning of 13 or more weeks flower.

Haha yea I guess I am kinda trying to shoot the moon a little... I want it perfect!! ( He says petulantly) I'll probably just let all the tips start to shoot for a few days then flip..

So I asked Hush and he pointed out that scrogs are meant to limit vertical growth until stretch is over so the buds grow evenly into the vertical plane. Which basically means that I better flip purt damn quick because I haven't even STARTED stretch yet and my screen is fairly full of healthy tips.

I'm going to flip today and feed stretch with fish and a bit of composted hay/horse manure. Once I see them start to reach I'll drop temp to 21 or maybe even 18 if needed hoping that helps to reduce verticality of the stronger tops. I might have to trim a few mains to keep them under control, also may get to try back building...

EDIT: Thought about it and I'm not interested dropping temp under 22C I rely heavily on biological activity in my soils and they are typically cooler than air temperature by a few degrees at least. Sooooo given that soils become most active at (if I recall) 24C and higher (to a point) I am reluctant to slow things down in the root zone by dropping air temp very much. I already feel I have underplanted the box as far as using all root space and wonder if next time I might put in 9 THRIVING (2 in present run of 7 were just "ok") clones in and top them a few times as well as place screen a little higher and allow them to grow into like Hush and DWD have been doing.

I figure if veg them at 12.5/11.5 and walk them down into 12/12 as the screen fills I should be able to get a bit more even distribution of similarly sized buds.. might even let em grow vertical a few inches and aim for a cola forest. I do have pretty intense lighting and I could upgrade it if needed.

Took a quick look before I had to go to dinner last night and things looked good. Almost all tips were pointed at the light and growing vibrantly, I tucked a couple longer ones and plucked some larger leaves.

Surprisingly I swear I saw a few pistils! I'm kind of at a loss other than to think I just happened to catch them when they were going to pump some vegetative pre-flowers? I only had them in 10 hours dark so I didn't think a couple days would be enough to illicit any flowering response.

It snowed here last night:cuss: so I have to go and check/adjust my airflow configuration to keep cold drafts off my sweet beauties. I'll look at the scrog again and take some more pics.... prolly maybe take some of the colas in other box too whilst I'm picturlating.

harvest day

harvest day

I was just starting to harvest this Golden Tiger (fem) and I realized I should get some pics.

I have 3 Golden Tiger plants. Two from feminized seeds and an F1 from the sale of the rediscovered old F1 seeds last year. This is the first to be ready. The F1 is right next to it and it's at least a week and probably two weeks behind this one.

It's in a very sunny spot. Starting in the late morning, the sun really shines on this plant and the soil. It needs some amount of watering nearly every day to keep the soil life alive on the south side of it.

Leaves have been yellowing off for some weeks now. We did have some wet weather last week but it just didn't seem ready and seemed ok to let it stay through that two day stretch. After that, very dry warm weather arrived. It may seem like it but there's no mold at all, just yellow and dry leaves that will easily trim off.

As you can see, many leaves are not only yellow but dried out. That happened very fast from the hot dry weather we're having. It looks ugly bit after drying and trimming that will be gone and these are going to be very nice.

This one seems to be a very Malawi pheno. Chunky bud structure, very resinous, Malawi aroma. You can see the flower bracts really swelled up. This happened since the wet weather, over the past several days. I decided it was worth it to let it stay out through that weather. It's much more ready now. Perfect time to harvest. I'll post some after cleaned up pics. It's going to look killer.

And confirmation. We have Pistils; after but a few days of sweet talk and sexy mood lighting I have encouraged signs of arousal in this exotic tigress. Hmmmm:thinking: maybe I should cook a nice fancy dinner for the wife this week....

Peace and Light everyone,

This is my very fit post on Icmag. Been following many threads for years. Want to join in the GT thread as I’m growing it now.
I’m growing outdoor, a few degrees south of the equator, where the light cycle is 12/12 or maybe 11/13 even sometimes. The summer solstice is in Dec in the Southern Hemisphere.
I am growing in living soil, whereby I’ve been recycling for more than 10 cycles and is now purely terra pretta and pure worm castings of the African Nightcrawler species, also conditioned by organic ammendments and probiotic KNF extracts.
I have my own self made KNF nutrient line and I may supplement with locally harvested bat and seabird guano.
I am growing in a 25L tall plastic pot.
The seedling is about 7 days old and already has a strong stem and prays in to hot humid weather it is in. It seems to love it as the praying of leaves is quite exaggerated! Will post photos of the seedling and as it vegges more. Peace!
Will post a picture

I also add that the medium is natural, wildcrafted forest humus/peat/leaf mould mixed naturally harvested rotten Coco coir chunks and fine media. Charcoal, seaweed, rock dust, sand, river gravel, pumice have all been locally sourced and used to amend the soil. The media was not bought from a store and no hydroponic or synthetic salts or bottled nutrients will be used in the grow and I am planning to document the whole grow on this thread (if I am allowed to that is). Everyone who has me on their friend list, know that I deeply respect your work and admire you! Love and light ! See you soon!

Hey Nefertem welcome to the community! It's a good place to learn and find a sense of belonging to a group (if your not already immersed in canna culture I guess).. MAD props on your local harvested soil components I did same thing in my area even finding a local deposit of volcanic ash with 67% silica and a number of other useful elements. I have two soil boxes... one is original soil built locally and second one is made from first when it filled up with worm cast and compacted a bit, I mixed manure and peat with original soil among other things to build 2nd. I began mixing wood chips and 10% at LEAST of bio char to combat compaction and increase mycorrhizal growth (they like wood and xtra oxygen).

The first soil box is still superior I'm guessing partly due to its higher percentage of ash and other local goodies.
