0llGreetings dubi! :tiphat:

Thank you for your reply, yes she is strong even without cure. A few of the GT plant's strength were up there with our strongest mothers for sure, even early & uncured. The one we like the most has grey tea smell, bergamot oil terpines, which is very unique and very pleasant. It is the same plant pictured in your quote. It is very thai in effect and growth, and probably can go even longer flowering. We cut her at 13 weeks, would have took her to16-17 weeks or even longer. Probably the keeper so far, and we still have most of the f1 pack to sort through. Holy Moley she is strong!

We look forward to growing f2 golden tiger generation next (reg & fem versions) in January or Feb 2018 is the plan. Next up in our ace schedule this fall is the Congo 3 x Ethiopia that is on the way... She looks like a good growing companion to some f13. Very excited for that grow. We plan to have a lot of ace next year, we had really good success with the few strains we grew, so thank you.

Peace & Love dubi, hope all is well with the ace crew.

:thank you:
Ncali

Hi Ncali,

Congrats on the harvest of your original F1 GT version, it's really a classic expression of that first version of the hybrid, with many desirable traits from the Old Killer Malawi mother, maybe the first version doesn't have the quality of terpenes that current version has, but it is still strong as hell!

Wish you enjoy her ;)

Just wanted to share my bonsai GT f1 dad, pimped him out to some random ladies this last run, seeds to be tested sometime next year.

I like his candy cane striped mainstem, vigor for a long flower Sat, and early resin. He really is happy in small containers, which works well for our limited space in the nursery, veg room, and flower. I hope he passes that on to his offspring...

A little pic of the bonsai nursery as well :) He's gotta behave in a room full of fine ladies

Do you flower with a 400 watt HPS light?

Do you flower with a 400 watt HPS light?

Hola Ace Seed fans!

I'm currently cloning three plants I germinated back in June: two Golden Tigers and one Panama. So I'll be posting here soon, trying to identify the phenos and looking for advice as I embark on only my second true sativa run. The first, someone's homemade cross of Colombian Gold x Acapulco Gold, didn't turn out as I had hoped.

I plan to run one of each from the Golden Tiger plants, and two of the Panama, come October. In the meantime, as I wait for my current run to come to completion (two Haze Berry and two Medical Mass, both from Royal Queen Seeds), I'm looking for any insights from people who flower out their grows with a 400 watt HPS light. Even better: someone who started with a 400 watter, and has moved up to a 1000 watt light.

I've grown indicas for the last seven years, and I've found 12 weeks of flowering (from the day I flip the lights) to be the sweet spot for maturity. That's 12 weeks for strains that often call for 7 weeks of flowering. I figure some of that is attributable to personal tastes, but also the lesser light intensity (albeit over a space that's somewhat less than 4 feet by 4 feet). On that last point, that's why I'm looking for any insights from anyone who started with a 400 watt HPS and has since moved up to a 1000 watt light.

So my question is: if I'm going 12 weeks with a 7 week indica, how long would you suggest flowering Golden Tiger, which is listed as an 11 - 14 week strain? And how long for Panama at 9 - 12 weeks? I probably run my indicas a bit longer because I use a lot of those strains for sleep issues, whereas with the Golden Tiger and Panama I'm looking for that up, trippy high I recall from the 70's when I bought my only bag of Colombian Gold.

Incidentally, my cloning run has been set back by an infestation of aphids. According to my local hydro store, they are common to canola crops which are maturing right now (even though I live in large metropolitan area). Only in Canad'er, eh?! Regards, KenAbyss.

You can harvest early to augment effects to your liking. I have found with ace gear and dubi's recommended timelines, longer side of the recomended times hold true to both good effects & weight.

Read this sticky/thread. It will help answer all your gt questions and then some. I grow with 400w mh and 315cmh in limited verticle space; practice your bondage, training, bending, clipping hacking chopping tie down .... You gotta be on top of these girls.

Low N, pot size restrictions & incrementalization, augmented light schedules, all are good things to help plan for their ever continuing stretch.

Golden Tiger mother early September

Golden Tiger mother early September

Here are the 5 main Golden Tiger mothers we use to produce our Golden Tiger seeds.

They are Double Thai (Koh Chang Thai x Hmong Thai)x Old Killer Malawi, selected for the best Koh Chang Thai traits.

GT fem 1,3 and 5 are more tamed in size and flowering time, while mothers 2 and 4 are very extreme thai expressions.

Then we pollinate them with the fourth element: the New Killer Malawi (reversed) or his brother, to produce the Golden Tiger regular and feminized seeds you have been enjoying so much for the last 3 years :)

Hi Dubi, are you going to distribute to test or sell? I want to buy the second version and test the third, put in the seedsman as a freebie?

Hi Ncali :)

It's a pleasure to see the original Golden Tiger F1 generation still being grown, thank you very much for supporting our work and for your interest in our different GT lines.

You really differenciated well the different phenos, from the more Malawi leaners to the ones with more thai influence.

I still believe the second, current and reworked Golden Tiger version is clearly superior to the old F1, but guess if you are a fan of this strain it's always interesting to have as many different generations of the strain as possible.

Of course, i will keep you all updated once the third GT version (Thai Chiang Mai x New Killer Malawi generation) is ready, the regular seeds of this third version are about to be harvested, while at the same time we are preparing outdoors the parental plants to produce a fem version of this third GT line.

Thanks for your input, Ncali. It's very much appreciated. I will keep the longer end of those recommended flowering times in mind then.

I have limited vertical space, so I already do a lot of the other things you recommended such as training, super-cropping. Regards, KenAbyss.

Hi Everhaze,

The ACE Seeds freebies available through retailers are prefixed.
For any special request in your order better place the order directly from us through email: [email protected]

Regarding the third Golden Tiger version (Thai Chiang Mai x Malawi), the seeds of the regular version have just been harvested, the seeds of the fem version will be harvested in Xmas if everything goes well. Then we will need to test them.

Thanks for your interest.

This stuff doesn't look much, and she isn't much for a looker in the bag. I need to grow her again and dial her in more. Of the GT we grew, some fem some reg from the f1 release, we kept f1 #3 the more thai leaning girl. This is a great bud to mix into a joint or bowl for "added effect". By herself it's just stupifying stone at first, and settled into a good sativa experience... but just really strong.

Hey Dubi. WHat's shakin'? SO I have a couple quick questions regarding the both the Golden Tiger, and Malawi strains. Both Regs. I was hoping for some info about Dominant and recessive traits on the Golden Tiger. The Malawi Seems pretty ubiquitous. I'm hoping to cross the GT with an Local Outdoor strain in the hopes of imparting a tendency towards a broader terpene profile. I'm not super impressed with the Traditional Haze Hybrids. SO I'm hoping to get My hands on your Lebanese. I think I saw it in the; "whats coming from ace in 2017" thread.

Thoughts

ANy info you could give me would be much Appreciated.

PlaidBee,
Greetings and welcome. Hope you have been able to start some rearch on this site and also on Ace's website too. All the details are easily found there and also often repeated in posts thru here. GT and Malawi having hundreds of posts. Just takes a few days reading and most is revealed therein. The Lebanese release also has some data here and there. Your post was not that clear about what you were breeding to other than a local outdoor strain to increase terps? Could you expand more here and it may help gather interest. You then mention haze hybrids. It all seems very unclear in what you have and what you are planning. Currently Ace Gardens are at peak workload, hence the lack of replies from people on the site so far. Seasons End Duties...
If you do not mind me asking what is you breeding experience especially with terpene development in NLD varieties? Am interested in learning more, too.
Hope that you will give the Ace Seeds site a good read thru and also these ICmag posts.
Pray your garden has great success, Happy growing!
