I envy you, I realy do.. I messed up this season by putting all my eggs in one basket, and a shitty basket it turned out to be lol.

Have to see how the local plants are doing and how the far away ones have adjusted to the replanting in the much better spot, I hope they are at least a few ft by now.

Well Deft, I've got twice the yrs on me than you do! It's a learning process, like all things in life. I'm a lot more dedicated to doing things as right as possible now than in my youth. Meaning, at this point, hauling H20! Two trips this A.M., starting @ 5:30.

Nice one Hilighter, keep on jack'n'jilling that stuff up the hill, while we all sit in comfort of our rooms watching those plants getting bigger & bigger. Got to hand it to you, wish I could grow Africans in my muddy cold part of the world.
I love this thread. Stick at it, I'm willing you on.

Well, that's cause I haven't shown the plants affected!
For about 3 wks, my best Congo has been turning lime-green, w/ the lower fan leaves yellowing & dying. Growth has been at a standstill. The Congo next to it has also shown similar traits, but that's the one that hasn't expressed, and hasn't been given the weekly fertilization the other plants have gotten. These are the only two plants affected.
Dubi and LMN have offered me some sound advice, so I'm upping my fertilizer regime. Went shopping today; my choices are limited where I live, but I'm happy w/ what I found:

The Espoma products will be used as a very light topdressing watered in heavily tomorrow. The Ak. fish emulsion will be used later in the week and maybe the Terracycle foliar spray.
IF I DON'T KILL THEM, I'LL MAKE THEM STRONGER! :D

Here's the plants in question

On a nicer note, the Early Durban is starting to actually push pistils!

and the Power Malawi's are lovin' the sun!

One of these days I'll be @ the plots @ just the right time for photos. Seems I'm too early in the A.M. or too early late afternoon.
Peace, HL

Hilighter, I dont want to sound like I have the answer to plant diagnosis, & I cant diagnose from looking at a photograph, but sometimes if a plant is stressed for any number of reasons, ph, overwatering, underwatering, cold nights, high daytime temps, slow root growth, etc etc the plant can try & outgrow itself. The only way it can do that sometimes is by shifting nutrients from the bottom leaves to the top for more growth. You can sometimes look for reasons that might compound the situation & even make it worse. I do know that alot of farmers of agricultural plants have this problem particularly in vegetative stages of plant growth in early spring & summer, when the growth is fast, and nearly always the advice given to them is the same, apply a foliar manganese spray. This is fairly fast acting, & I dont think it can do any harm as long as you dont overdo it. Most farmers these days will spray this routinely now on high cellulose crops ie wheat & maize. It seems to give the plants a kick start, & makes the uptake of other nutrients particularly nitrogen more accessable. In an agricultural situation you would pull a plant up to have a look at its roots check for bugs larvae rot & growth, obviously this would be impossible with just a few mj plants, but you might just have a male nearby? I hope that helps a little.

Great going Highlighter... My afro girls are pygmies next to yours but they're into flower and I'll post some shots in the next few days. One of my Malawi hybrids is lime green, in the same substrate and nute regime as two others which have darker green leaves.

If that Congo isn't just a lime green pheno, it looks like it would just love about a liter of my famous liquid gold, which comes with its own convenient carrying pouch.

edit: About farmaz2's advice above, I was also thinking about suggesting a seaweed tea foliar spray, which could supply micronutrients currently unavailable to the plant in the soil. Should have trace amounts of Manganese, Zinc, Boron, and decent amounts of K, Ca, Mg. You mentioned you were near the ocean or am I making that up?

hmm...obviously I didn't know you were holding out on us HL. You need a little of the ckn manure in my compost pile..I added some mexican bat guano tea to my water today.I feel my blue Dragons could be a little darker. It's almost like a slight lock out.Foliar feeding some diluted Pure blend grow in the am.Good luck..BL

Hey farmaz2 & muddy, thx for your concerns. In the last 3 wks they've been foliar fed w/ Thrive Alive, as well as Earth Juice Microblast, which has all those trace elements you mentioned, muddy. They've just gotten worse imo. And yeah, a few miles from the ocean. But it's just these two Congo's affected, and they at one time had the same coloring of the other two.
I think a tablespoon of the Espoma Urea (45-0-0) and a 1/2 tbs of the iron, will show "quick solution", lol!
As far as digging them up to check roots, if the undetected Congo shows balls, I'll be moving him and can check then. Fact is, I've been trying to stress that plant into sexing.
muddy, just what's in that famous liquid gold? :D Looking forward to seeing your Malawi's & Swazi's!
Hey Paddi, thank for stopping by! Don't you want to sneak thru the woods to visit these girls w/ me? :D

Hey budluver, missed you, been watching the Sox game and getting distracted...

Yeah, the holes they're in are my oldest, and maybe I didn't guess-timate the volume right when mixing in the chx manure. All the new holes were pre-mixed back at the homestead accurately.
