A couple of Nigerian Nightmares

A couple of Nigerian Nightmares

Great thread Highlighter!

I am growing some Nigerian Nightmare's here in the midwest. I have been throwing out a few clones from a few different phenos. I also had some Nigerian Nightmare x Durban, but a beaver or muskrat has taken everyone of them from me :bashhead:

Here is a few pics of one that is budding nicely.

first is her on june 8:

June 15:

June 29:

And a couple of macros:

Have a couple of bottom buds pollinated by some Guerilla Gold boys. This particular plant is growing in a swamp, and has access to the sun all day!

Last is a pic of a clone from same mother as above plant, put out the same day, and is gowing nicely without any flowering :rasta:

Best of Luck everybody!! Stay safe.

I grew Durban a load of times outdoors and never seen a purple one, is that Nirvana's Durban?

Ganico, British_Hempire,& smokeymacpot, that's why I've always been dubious of the Durban tag.It has been used for way too long as a "status" strain, so you just never know.
mycall, Thx for posting your Nightmare's! Really great to see and compare! Amazing you have one in such a heavy stage of flowering! :D:yes:
I just visited plot #2, where I have one, and today I found out she's a she! The other two @ plot #1 are both girls and both skinnier and taller than this one. Pics soon, but here's the one @ #2 w/ the Liamba Verde X Banghi behind her.

Also, on the LMN front, the monster 'Cantarela' finally expressed male, and was sadly pulled. :frown:

Hello

Here's my contribution to this wonderful thread! :rasta:

Malawi Land-race

Seeds came from some smoke bought at a c-shop in the NL, imported gear. The bud was very uplisfting and with a perma-smile effect, very positive. Found 2 seeds, 1 cqme out. Unfortunately the flowering was too long for my latitude, only harvested very small buds in early Dec as it snowed.

A new cross I'm trying this year. Strong influence from the Pak pheno. A more sativa pheno of this cross harvested end of Oct in the Mediterraneran, measuring something btw 2,5 to 3 mtrs :bashhead:

Keep on growin' :joint:

Hey Browser! Thx for the contributions!
Sad to read your Malawi landrace didn't finish, that's my big fear, that these big, beautiful plants won't finish.
Is the Congo genes from spanish sources?

Thx Paddi, as a farewell, he does warrant a big goodbye shot! :D
I was on dial-up until recently, so I sympathize w/ anyone in the same state, and leave shots as thumbnails for easier loading, but damn, that looks nice!

With the Nigerian Nightmare and Cantarela showing sex today, that leaves me w/ two plants of undetermined sex. :drum:
This Power Malawi has yet to show. The only PM I didn't top, the leaf structure is a bit narrower than the other two.

At plot #2, I dug the holes too close for these monsters on the west end. To remedy that, I bent the Nigerian girl over and away from the Congo's, taking the spot of a pulled Cantarela male.
1st up, a "before" shot, and a "week later" shot, flanked by the Congo's.

Here's a closer look right after she'd been bent & tied.

and here's a look today

Good day Highlighter!

Your outdoor grow is becoming real beautiful ... is it guerrrilla farming?

All the plants are growing vigorously, with strong branches and great colour. Im sure they are enjoying the good soid you prepared and all your little cares.

Im very happy you have different Congo females there to try at the end of the season. Variety is the spice of life. The other african based strains are looking great too.

I hope they become monsters in the next mounth to produce a huge harvest at the end of the flowering. What your latitude friend?

Have a nice week! dubi

Hola Dubi, very nice to have you check in here! Yes, this is a guerilla-style grow @ around 42 lat. I am in a coastal location that has a unique micro-climate from that of the rest of the region, and I am hoping that will help bring these monster girls to harvest.
Here is a shot from this A.M. of my undetermined Congo (along with a Early Durban on the left.)

I was thinking if it turns out male, I would dig it up and use it for breeding w/ the other male I've kept, but it's taking so long to express, I wonder if this is a sign of a long-flowering pheno, something I wouldn't want in the offspring.
Any thoughts on this? It will be quite an endeavor to dig up and move him!

Hey Deft! Be careful of what you wish for, I've become a slave to watering these beasts! Next yr. you can start early too.

While watering @ plot #1 today, I was able to check on the Nigerian "creeper" pheno there. Last week I hauled in some composted wood chips. On many of the lower branches I pruned and then applied Clonex to the pruned areas. I then buried these branches w/ the wood chips, hoping for them to root.
As originally stated, I had hoped to clone these branches, but as Pipeline had suggested, this will produce more root mass. In the interest of the thread, I decided this would be more interesting to follow, so let's have a look!
1st shot was taken right after the manipulation of branches, then a wk later.

Here's some before/after looking from the other side:

Peace from the creeping jungle! :D

Yes, it is... What a small word, isn't it? :canabis:

You're spoiling us by proving such a detailled follow up :D It's really curious of what you're doing with the Nigerian "creeper" on ur last post.

Keep up the good work!

there's was an interesting post on a french forum where the guy said
that the soil and the water is important like wine..
it said that we give too much water, and with african strain they can go very low in the ground, and less water u give, more the plant live harder, more the smoke is good !
outdoor is better than indoor, and when u grow it in different soil than it's birth land it change the smoke.(don't talk just about the light)
