some are profiled more of course due to their backgrounds/ criminal history.. which make it easier to get a warrant im sure.

also.. these days with everyone getting tattoos and all.. some are just asking to be profiled with how they dress and look. Cops are very judgmental we all know this.

Hell, Lots of cops in Denver have tats. I've seen a few full sleeves on the boys in blue.

Ya digg. I'll only go in hydrostores to find out what i need to buy at Lowes.:bandit:
Yeah but isn't that still you going in and out of a hydro shop though?

They just opened a huge new one near me and now i'm noid to go, lol.

Are we sure this guy's name had not already been dropped? 400k could put him on the DEA's Radar. Maybe they just used this part of the investigation to gain a head line in a Pot friendly state? I still feel that everyone should be very careful at all times but...I am just say yin...

I did this using a free program available to everyone.

Hell, If I could get your actual IP (Which could be easy or hard depending upon your security), and get my friend to get off counter strike, He could give me your entire address and additional information I could use to search where you live.

Technology is a wonderful thing when you have people around you that know how to abuse it.

thats crazy, i used to know this chinese kid back when i was younger, by 7th grade this kid was hacking bangbus and other porn sites, even taught me how too. he had all sorts of crazy computer skills, free windows, free games, free movies, all sorts of weird hacker shit. wish i still knew that nerdy mafucker..

Gaining someones ip address would mean planted some sort of program to send it to you with out them knowingly giving it way to you like a website logger, and even if he did get your ip all it would do is give you the Adress for your ISP and only your ISP can give out your adress which The goverment have been trying to get them to do for a long time now.. but lucky my isp has refused several times now

i think its easier than this. i used to be on this graffiti forum where kids with beef would always come in and talk shit to eachother, low and behold one of them had some sort of IP tracin ability and posted his enemies address on the forums for everyone to see, then kids started showing up outside his house haha, he even had his back windows shot out. he sort of deserved it because he talked ALOT of shit and he was a pretty famous drummer that everyone hated on

It is easier then that, you can easily acquire someones IP without direct access to their machine. Now, turning that IP into a real name or address is a bit more difficult. You ISP has all of that info and you have to find way to get them to give it to you.

This obviously is not an issue for LEO, they simply ask and can get all of the info they want. If you really want to be safe online you need to use something like a VPN. It basically creates an encrypted tunnel between you and the vpn server. Not even you ISP will be able to see what you are doing.

Agents Shut Down South Denver Pot Operation

"Agents were doing surveillance on a horticulture store in Aurora and followed customers who bought hydroponic growing supplies.

Many who grow marijuana often use hydroponic equipment.

Civil rights attorney David Lane said this is a common tactic. "There is nothing illegal about seeing who comes and goes from a hydroponic store. There is nothing illegal about following them to their houses, or finding out where they live. There is nothing illegal about walking up a driveway and sniffing out a garage to see if it smells like marijuana," said Lane."

Very weak cause but not surprising. Green merchant tactics again? This seems like a waste of limited resources, Mr. President!

I believe it is illegal to trespass on one's property.

I also wonder, could a police dog that is TRAINED to detect cannabis smell it outside of say an apt with a sealed grow with carbon scrubbers going? Would enough scent particles escape somehow for the dog to smell it, and even in that instance would it be grounds for a warrant?
Yes, dogs can smell it. I don't think there's any way to control odor so well a dog can't detect it, other than keeping the dog far enough away. The legal issues are another matter. How does the dog know for sure the smell's coming from your home? How does the dog's handler know for sure that the dog knows for sure? How do we know the handler isn't lying through his teeth? Handlers can easily get their dogs to give false signals.

Notice I said dog, not trained dog. Most dogs can detect the odor, that isn't what the training's about. The training's about interdiction, working with a handler to report the odor.

Trespassing is illegal. But pretty much nobody really knows WTF trespassing is. Walking on private property uninvited is NOT trespassing. Basically, to make entering your private property qualify as trespassing, you have to put barriers up around the property, and post signs saying "no trespassing" or something to that effect.

Ever tried calling the cops on kids trampling your yard every day on their way home from school, or the mailman for walking on your property every other day? They'll tell you the same thing.

I can attest to the fact I have used Demographic Profiling information to search for houses under Google Earth. Depending upon where it is and how long ago it was added, I can walk up to the front of your driveway and if your cars were outside at the time of picture, I can see your car type and colour. As well as a generous shot of your house.

I did this using a free program available to everyone.

No, sorry, the fact that large portions (maybe even most or all) of the planet have been photographed by satellites has nothing to do with the ridiculous Hollywood fantasy that the authorities have constant satellite coverage of all of the U.S., all the time. Satellites rotate the Earth, and the cameras on them have limited range. When the satellite is over China, it can't see you in your car by the grow store. There's nowhere near 100% 24/7/365 coverage. At any given moment, there's a chance your area is covered by a satellite, and a chance it isn't. And guess what, when that camera is focused on Springfield, USA, it isn't focused on the next city over.

The satellite that tells my Garmin what to tell me when I need directions sure seems to be able to find me any time of the day or night.

Jesus Christ, totally different technology used in a totally different manner. GPS sats are in geostationary orbit and can blanket a wide area. Imaging satellites actually orbit the earth and are constantly on the move, they also only cover a narrow area at one time in order to achieve a decent resolution.

There are numerous types of imaging sats watching the Earth from all angles. The ones I know of are DigitalGlobe, GeoEye, Spot Image, RapidEye and Earth Resource Observation Satellites This group is just US sats. Then there's our Government that you know has high tech sats that we don't even know about.

I'm sure other Countries have their own versions of all of the above. I don't think anyone really knows the numbers or who has what.

Not even possible....fear mongering at it's best.

If they can steal 6k for a premium I don't want/need to place me under their care(read jurisdiction), then my med records are now subject to scrutiny and and inspection. Who knows? A whole new industry may be created to 'apply' treatment to non-licensed users. All this funded by stolen tax dollars.

Don't believe it's coming..? Just look at the medicaid or VA (tax payer funded) example.

I may be paranoid however after watching the VA threaten to deny/withold treatment for an elderly friend I don't have any faith in the coming federal system or it's requirements.

I Love My Country and Fear My Government.

Anyone frequenting a hydro shop should obviously take steps to avoid being followed etc here are some common sense precautions:

Don't use your own car

If you do use your own car, don't have your grow house registered to the same address where your grow is. (consider changing your address on your license and insurance to another address from your grow)

Have a friend drive you.

NEVER go directly from the hydro shop to your grow spot...go shopping, visit a friend, go to Home depot, run some errands, etc.
