Ha there ya go... If you ain't got the genetics then you ain't gonna get trichomes.

But as far the thread topic goes, i try to limit my trips to the growshop to about once a month. And when i do go i'm in and out in under 10 mins.
I try not to project the fact that i'm involved in this particular hobby, especially to the knuckleheads at the hydrostore, people driving by the hydrostore, people WATCHING the hydrostore, etc. Back east there was a crew who would watch the growshops, follow people back to their houses/grow ops, and break in after a week of surveillance.

No thank you.

Add the fact that i have a good job, reputation, etc., and i don't care how legal my grow is, IMHO there's nothing to gain by having a bunch of random people think i'm growing weed.

i asked the guys at the shop i go to where to get clones......lol. they were like "umm you cant really ask that in here but here you go"as he handed me a little piece of paper with some initials on it and just said "google this". SICKEST clone hook up ever! like a 12X12 room of about a hundred strains. i almost cried lol. sadly they were shut down a couple months later. i think i did cry that time lol

u can talk about trichomes.. just mention CATNIP loll catnip is similar .. as it is another plant that produces trichomes and needs to be ripened for best high for the cat.

i did a super dumb thing at the local hydro shop. i have been buying there for about a year and have been given really spot on advice.we were talking about clone and stuff like carbon filters so i asked how to improve "resin " production -next thing i know he was like i cant sell you anything and asked be to leave the store.
i felt like a total asshole and walked out. i quess that tomatoe's dont have "resin" -

i know it was a dumb move on my part -anyone else ever experiance this?

WTF are you serious?? where did this happen and what store I would LOVE to know !!! Who tells you what you can and can't grow in any shop ? WTF? I am always telling the hydro stores here it's about cannabis I have NO PROBLEM telling them this and if they ever said shit to me I would tell them to go fuck themselves!! All the shops here know it's about cannabis so I don't know how this could be? How can any store be the police? headband 707

Do like the idea of a tread tellin ppl how to dial in environment ... Most ppl major problems all start there.... I remember yrs ago on threats coast me and a friend went to a hydro store and he was asked to leave cuz he was wearin a shirt with bob marley smokin a j .... Bull shit ..but out east it's a different ball game.... I only go. Places where I feel comfortable... And give most my money goes to homedepot Neway...

thanks bro, yeah problem solved.but life is a jouney,i stated with bag seed, took a trip to amsterdam came back with seeds greenhouse,dutch passion,th seeds. they all were ok,but no real keepers.
then got smart and got -bog sour bubble - rez chemdog and sour diesel, got keepers then had to shut down for security reasons.
now have a killer wifi keeper and sweet cindy 99 dutchgrown

I would never discuss anything with the people at grow shop. They would cooperate with law enforcement officers if they had too...You can't forget they are running a "legit" business. and just answering one question wrong could jepoardize their business. So for your safety and theirs never discuss any "illegal" activty with grow shop employee's KK

uh i dunno about your growshops.
but my growshop is dedicated to growin WEED. so of course i talk openly about weed with my main man there. he has tons of knowledge and used to build big indoor plantations back in the day, this guy tells some awesome stories.

Same as that my man. My growshop owner's a great guy and of course talks openly about growing weed. I mean he's not stupid, he won't shout about it if his shop's full. Once he gets to know you tho he'll chat about your needs. They know they can't compete with the direct prices of Ebay and the like. Their strength is in passing on knowledge and information. If his customer gets fantastic results growing whatever because of his help, that customer will be back! Simple economics!
It's a shame they're not all as open minded. The ones who bury their heads in the sand are comical, makes you feel like shouting at them - "What the fuck do you think everyone is growing"? It ain't tomatoes!

I have worked at a shop in a non med place, and had to show some people the door. "What the fuck do you think everyone is growing?" Exactly. Just don't use the buzz words, there's no need for it. If you help someone who tells you they are committing a crime, then you are also committing a crime. You think those people who's life depends on their business should just trust you that you won't go and get caught doing something dumb? If you are running your mouth in my shop you are for damn sure running your mouth outside of my shop. Laws may be different in the UK, but here it's just not worth it to tolerate that sort of thing. Now, I have had a (loooong time) customer approach me away from the shop, asked me if I wanted to come over and hang out some time (with a wink wink-nudge nudge), and I ended up going to his grow house and giving pointers/showed him how to make bho/tasted some of his product. I still thought it was stupid of him to invite me over. That being said, I would not kick someone out for asking how to boost resin or trich production. Those are plant words, nothing illegal about resin or trichs.

If all of the shops know its about cannabis then why the hell state the obvious and use stupid words to potentially compromise their store.

Remember that Federal law that states cannabis is illegal and anyone cultivating said plant is committing a crime? Yea.. it still exists. A shop selling you equipment and acknowledging that your using it to commit a federal crime can land them in hot water with the wrong mother fuckers.

Why put the shop owner at risk of having their inventory seized and store closed by the feds due to selling to the unaware grower who likes to throw around stupid words when everyone and their mother already know what their doing there.

I guess one could argue what is crossing the line (resin, buds, colas, strain names?), but why even go there in the 1st place.


Use your head. Cannabis is still illegal under federal law. Keeping medical marijuana out of federal cross-hairs might be a bit tricky, but compromising grow shops who sell completely legal equipment is unnecessary.

And don't be so naive to think that they cant put an agent in a shop. Shop owner gets himself in hot water.. snitch shop owner agrees to put a 'new guy' in the shop. Easy.. and now their building relationships with fools who openly talk in the shop and scoping out the larger shoppers. Dont think it doesnt go down? This is the type of intel they keep quiet and still bust people after other 'surveillance'.


I know what I need and get in/out quick with little convo ever.


PS - I do not however think the OP should have been kicked out for 'resin' rather then a blatant cannabis or marijuana, but cant blame the shop either if that is their policy in order to steer clear from any entity that might want to shut them down.

Everyone knows what the merchandise being bought is used for. Like when I asked the young lady behind the counter in one of the local glass shops. do you have a vapor globe, she didn't know what that was, so I said its for smoking hash oil out of. Jeez, you would thought I shot a puppy in front of her, the look on her face was terrific the horror of hearing hash oil, you can't say that. Also can't say bong, its got to be water pipe its just completely idiotic.

Back in the day we could not use the word BONG in a head shop. We had to say water pipe. I have been tossed for saying Bong back then.. When Tower records was the local head shop Sometimes they would tell us dont say that lol...

Around here they definitely still ask you to leave for saying bong.

The local head shop has started giving out tobacco with all paper purchases because if you get pulled over with papers and no tobacco they give you a paraphernalia charge.

In general glass shops operate under the quasi-legal line that everything is for tobacco use. They put their business on the line in most places by advertising that they sell products for use as drug paraphernalia.
