For carrying my little 10lb dog into the store with me under my arm, I take him everywhere, no one ever has a problem with it except this guy at the grow shop, got into a fairly big arguement with him about it when he wouldn't let me pay for my stuff and go, said I had to put my dog outside that moment, f**K him, I left and never have gone back again. Found a bigger, cheaper store that's much closer to me anyway.

^^ thats fucked. yeah i always had mediocre experiences at that store i mentioned above; employees trying to hustle me, one gave me attitude, and theyre stuff is the most expensive. fuond a friendlier cheaper family owned store with everything i need

Glandular trichomes are much different than tomato trichs...

Say you are growing lavender or peppermint... those are rich in glandular trichomes replete with oleoresins.

im getting too paranoid these days, im not going to any hydro stores in person more than once a month anymore

i really got stupid and started going there way too often because i half-assed my lists and forgot one thing, etc. etc.

The last time I was at a hydro shop, the people that were working there were getting drunk and smoking roll your own cigs right in the shop behind the counter.I don't mind that they are all laid back and shit, but I don't smoke anywhere near my grow stuff, and I sure as hell don't want to have to worry about my babies getting TMV from something I bought brand new at the shop. Needless to say, I only got a bottle of nutes there, and ended up going about a block down the street to the shop I really like to get everything else. What really got me going was the fact I was biking it, so I had to take my stuff in and leave it at the counter, and the guy spotted the nutes, and straight up pointed out that they carried the same stuff for about 3 dollars cheaper a bottle. But back to the point, no I haven't been thrown out of a hydro shop, but I was there when someone else was-overhead the guy asking "what are the best nutes for growing pot?" and out the door he went.

I asked a lady at the local co-op, just organic foods and herbals. I asked about them buying edible mushrooms and she thought I meant the blue shrooms. I wasn't kicked out but ya, people are paranoid of references and associations.

Thats hilarious cause i almost did a few weeks ago, however it wasnt for using the wrong words, it was for questioning the guy for carrying bubble bags. No one else was in there and he knows me and friends very well. I wouldnt have asked the guy if i didnt care about him... and all i asked was "you think thats a good idea?" I mean this guy is more money than EVERY other shop around. However he is pretty cool.

IMO its a horrible fucking idea for a grow shop on the EC to carry fucking bubble bags. There is no fucking reason for it...friends i've talked to agreed.

ROFL. I'm curious why you think you're entitled to bring a dog with you in places that clearly dont allow it just cause your carrying it? People with dog allergies shouldn't be forced to breath your shitty bad air. For the record I dont have dog allergies and I love dogs. I just dont get why you think your fucking entitled to special rules? And furthermore, what the fuck happened that you can't leave the dog at home when you go out?

Just depends Bghydro/discount hydro never ask or talk to me they just get whats on the list and thats that. I think you would have to try hard to get thrown out its all respect.

I have found that most people that work at hydro stores don't know shit about growing. They are just salesmen. When they push a product on you it is because they see lots of other customers buying it so they assume it is good. Or they are being pushed by the managers to meet quotas on certain products. What little experience they have is from their little one lighter at home that they just love to brag about. What a joke. There is a reason they work at a store and aren't shopping there instead. Luckily there is a great store around here where they have a little bit of a clue. We have 5 hydro stores in a town of about 1,500 people. Like others have said there is a wealth of info on this site, so don't waste your time with the store dummies.

I disagree - my local shop EC sells Payload Bags (bubble bags). They call them "Guano Filtration Bags" for making teas and other guano related extractions. They wont explain much about them however - you either know what they are - or you dont.

Dont hold it against a shop who asks you to leave due to wording, ect. They are simply protecting their business. Wait a few weeks and return as if nothing ever happened. Just dont use those words deemed BAD. Now.. if they were rude about it - fuck em.

Do you guys say Buds in your store? Buds technically isnt a bad word..as many plants bud.. but I'd suggest using "flowers" and "essential oils" for resin speak as it will make the shop guy more comfortable in talking.

Just my thoughts. My local shop is very cool, but you can tell they get uneasy about bud talk vs. flower talk. ..and they do have a shop dog and welcome any other pets in the store. A very friendly easy going spot.

I would actually steer clear from shops that DO speak openly and smoke, ect in the store. Its just too out there - unless we are talking CA where thats the least of the issues.

Even if you do have MED card - refrain from talkng about it in shops.. just because its legal for you (medicinal states) doesnt mean your local shop is out of the clear from FED DEA troubles should they be indited under fed charges for knowingly helping a cannabis grow op. Cannabis is illegal under federal regulations no matter how you slice it. Its a damn shame that it trumps state law. Revolution anyone?

All that said - use this website and GOOGLE for your questions/research before going into a shop. While the shop guys love to sell you stuff - I'm sure they also dont love countless questions regarding your spots on your leaves and the alike. There are just too many variables in a garden to be troublshooted from a shop employee from behind a counter. Dont be pissed when he points you to a product which may or may not solve your products. YOUR the ONE who made it open game going in with 0% knowledge on YOUR issues. Its his perogitive to sell you SOMETHING. Customers coming in with stupid questions and leaving without purchase does nothing for his bottom line - sales.

Remember - these guys hear it all. That failed batch of clones you had after using the cloning gel recommend by the guy behind the counter - its HIS fault right. And let me guess - those 3 gallon plastic pots you bought from the hydro shop gave you spider mites too..nevermind those infested clones you got from a friend. true story.

I have a friend behind a counter - so I get to hear their side a lot. It has changed my attitude towards local hydro shops. They are not all bad...they just deal with a lot of knuckle heads with no clue. Mainly the guys that dont have the internet and the hydro shop is their ONLY source of advice. My advice - get the fucking internet - its 2009 for christ sakes.
