ever been thrown out of your local grow shop?

Good to hear some of these stories. A lot of it is common sense, and the OP did state that he felt like a bone head because he went outside of what he knew was "OK Terminology" and mistakes happen.

Personally, I've never stepped foot in a grow shop. There's a few in my area but I'm still in the planning stages of my project. But considering I'm trying not to get anything mailed to me, I'll be going very very soon. Good to know a lot of places are friendly like most head shops are as long as you stay within the legal boundaries.

i did a super dumb thing at the local hydro shop. i have been buying there for about a year and have been given really spot on advice.we were talking about clone and stuff like carbon filters so i asked how to improve "resin " production -next thing i know he was like i cant sell you anything and asked be to leave the store.
i felt like a total asshole and walked out. i quess that tomatoe's dont have "resin" -

i know it was a dumb move on my part -anyone else ever experiance this?

Perhaps you should have asked for a product to "increase the fragrant oils".

I love my local shop, there are many but the one I use is new and I've been a customer almost since they opened. After about 6 months of regular shopping trips (some rather large) the guy offered me clones! Also a family-run spot, they all grow and are VERY knowledgeable, and cheaper than most shops. I'm a customer for life! I even asked if I could get a job running that store if they open another one, they're thinking about it.

I did throw myself out of a growshop once... the boss told me the PIGS were due round any minute

Turns out the true inheritors of Sherlock Holmes' mantle had found out that Al Quaeda were making bombs in aeroplane loos from high grade H2O5 bought in a growshop. The Kit Pimp just pointed out to Scotland Yard's finest Anti Terrorist Orificers that hairdressers also used the same stuff so they could add 50,000+ Hairdressers to the list of 200 growshops to visit.....

I think i fell in love with my local hydro shop the day I walked in.

Setting up my first grow and I was greener than what I was growing. Walked in their all paranoid about him knowing what i was growing so I kind of kept to my self. Strange looking guy came up to me asked if I needed any help, said nah ive got a list.

About ten minutes later i was staring bewildered at the carbon filters and the guy came up to me and goes "you'll want this one- if ya growin some stinkies she'll clean it out for you" from that we got to talking and next thing i know the guys working out my entire setup, telling me about his own grow and strains and to top it off introduced me to the manager and discounted all my shit.

Cash only and due to their location they can tell if pigs are their.

Heaven.

Well, probably the biggest factor is the genetics - so find a resinous pheno. Most of the snake oils will do nothing, perhaps a few do, and maybe someone will chime in w/ a suggestion for one that helps. But what will help most is finding that magic pheno.

^^ thats fucked. yeah i always had mediocre experiences at that store i mentioned above; employees trying to hustle me, one gave me attitude, and theyre stuff is the most expensive. fuond a friendlier cheaper family owned store with everything i need

This is all I get recently. BIG TIME hustling in south bay hydro shops right now...They were talking openly about MJ though, asking what strains I have, expect smell at X ammount of week...

maintain a proper grow room enviroment, grow good genetics with good resin production, and overall just keep your plants happy with simple base nutrients..

the results will show.

If your looking for that magical additive to help oil production take a look at foxfarm soluble cha ching or humboldt county's own snow storm ultra. I dont have the experience with these products myself, but do have friends who use these products in hopes of more FROST!

Glandular trichomes are much different than tomato trichs...

Say you are growing lavender or peppermint... those are rich in glandular trichomes replete with oleoresins.

I agree, the healthiest plant I ever grew was the worst smoke, the most unhealthy plant I grew had 0 fan leaves at onset of flowering, 12 / 12 from seedling grew only 10g or so but it was on par with the "fire" they sell locally. First was bagseed latter was genetics... master kush.

I feel really fucking lucky. At one hydro store the dude buys my tops. Another one is just mad cool and the people know. I think paying with a VISA card with the name California Cannabis Inc. said a thing or two to them. By accepting my card they have more than talked about Cannabis.

Man I should publish a list of recipets from business that have accepted the California Cannabis Inc. card!

uh i dunno about your growshops.
but my growshop is dedicated to growin WEED. so of course i talk openly about weed with my main man there. he has tons of knowledge and used to build big indoor plantations back in the day, this guy tells some awesome stories.
