***DrBud Takes CFL SOG to the Next Level***

I don't understand why people are so stubborn and refuse to accept the information DrBud is giving us. It's the numbers and the methods, you people are getting more caught up in the lights than necessary. h3ad has some very good points about the CFLs, but seriously. SOG is always going to be the most efficient way of producing bud, and this is like SOG on steroids. The plant numbers are crazy, and the only way I would ever try them would be if the laws were dramatically changed, or if I lived in the middle of the woods on a mountain off grid.

Maj.PotHead,
Glad to see that you're going to try it yourself. I know you're a big dog here in the forums, but even an old dog can learn some new tricks!

But I think you are still missing the point. It's not about CFL's vs HID's. Dr. Bud is able to achieve those lofty yields due to his efficient production methods. High density no-veg SOG making the most efficient use of available time and space. If you don't pack 'em in tight -16 cuts per sq ft, you won't get high yields.

I just wanted to pop in and thank the Dr. for all the info he's shared. Your threads are inspiring to say the least. I too have just rooted my first clones in perlite and am excited to say my bud box is finally up and running. I just have one question for you sir:

Obviously your methods have evolved from years of experience and experimentation. Can you tell me your reason for using superthrive? Do you think it increases yield or does it help the plant cope with the small container or what? Superthrive during flowering is supposed to be a no-no, but you've broken enough so-called rules of thumb for me not to trust them anymore.

Hey, Dr. Bud  I hope your having a good day :rasta:

My grow using what I have learned from you is going fair.

Mistakes : I overfeed them, I had them too close to the lights and burnt some tops, I should not have topped them so I could fit more plants inside( out of these four I topped two of them around 10 days into flower bad habits from my bigger plants), I should have put them 12/12 as soon as they rooted. I waited around a week. With this study run I know what to aspect next time.

These have around three weeks to go(at day 40 of 12/12), I'll feed them one more time in two days then its just water.
Thanks again Dr. Bud, peace

Does it matter if he does or doesn't? some people just don't like letting there secrets out, im sure dbg has no issue giving his recipe out but whats the point of that comment?

are you just tryna copy his method down to a T? :muahaha: :muahaha:

Whats good Dbg?!

Hey DrBud  I am among those inspired by your claims. Here's a shot of a couple bag seed plants I've got under a 250 watt metal halide flowering at 60 days.

10480profileshot.JPG

They are in 24oz (710ml) plastic cups. I'm anxious to see what kind of a yield I'm going to pull off them. I've got 18 of them going in my cabinet, staggered. I'd be encouraged if I even got 1/4 of the yield you get. I can already see many ways to improve, finding the right strain, dialing them in, taking tiny clones and flowering them as soon as they root, getting them in the right proximity to the light, not too far not too close etc.

As for your detractors, I'm going to leave with a quote or maybe a paraphrase from Einstein...

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence."

advice to anyone else doubting the good dr:

READ ALL HIS THREADS BEFORE COMING INTO 1 OF THEM AND SPOUTING OFF AT THE MOUTH!

he has went over his nutrients/dosages/feeding schedules/methods/everything else

just read man!

it's almost upsetting to watch the dr have to DEFEND himself over this crap. he is posting his methods, you don't like it don't emulate them. END OF STORY

You could easily copy his method to a T if you read all his posts. He shares absolutely every part of his setup in a few different threads put together. Everyone should make use of the Filter button in his threads, it's a wealth of information that can be scanned over relatively quickly.

Well Maj PotHead the good Dr.Bud happened to use the same stuff I had bought before reading his thread. Which is 4 Droppers Full of Shultz 10-15-10 4 Drops of Superthrive and a drop of Fish Emulsion per gallon everytime he waters.

So far my girls love it!! And my buddy with 2 1000watt HPS swears I'm not going to get any trichromes wiat till he see's this

P.S Mrs BudGreenGenes you rock lady!!!! I have a buddy who has to hide his stash from his wife or it's a problem. Very nice to see you stand by you dude and love the grows, I bet you have the best cookies around. :rasta:

I personally have completely scrapped my growcab mk1 after reading the good dr's threads. I have since dedicated my time to designing a cab based on this method. i am hoping to improve upon the method with a few things of my own design but thanks to the Dr its looking like i can get a stealth micro grow that supplies the weight i need for my admittedly quite high consumption.

Have a great holiday Dr, just got back from a week meself. and once again thanks for the knowledge. Shit talkers.. be off with you.

I don't think it's so much the lights as it is the number of plants bein ran. The more plants you pack in, the higher gram per watt you will get. You can use this method with -any- light that will grow plants. It's been known for many years that stick style sea of green is the most efficient use of space and will out produce any other method of growing. But, before anyone starts up hundreds of clones, check yer state's laws on plant numbers. In my state I can get a life sentence worth of clones under jus 1 K! So I grow bushes, big LST bushes! I really dig the Doc's method because it shows jus how easy and inexpensive it would be for a new grower ta get started. Even if ya don't run high numbers of plants, you could grow mini bushes. Bottom line, we need ta teach -everyone- ta grow! How else are we gonna overgrow the government! lol One love, it's why we're all here. Take care... BC

just wanted to say that the dr's method of cloning with perlite just gave me roots in 7 days first time around. i pulled a couple and they all rooted! i think i'm gonna leave the rest of them go a couple extra days just so that they take off faster once transplanted tho...

MMMmMmMm SoCal!!! Hopefully you come back with some nice new genetics to play with.

I really enjoyed your Geisha grow, im still trying to figure out how you got 2 clones from the top of a 3 noded seedling.

Edit: I understand what you meant now in your Geisha test grow thread. You get 2 clones in 5-7 days AFTER topping, I originally thought you got 2 clones from the part that you topped.
