The Chem Sis x Pure Kush has revegged like a champ. I'm really glad I didn't loose this plant. She's been a fighter the entire time - she barely germinated if you read back.

This plant has some sentimental value in my life I hadn't really considered either - so she is going to stick around. After everything else I've puffed recently, it's clear to me she has that keeper potential as well. She was really funk stank rank herb.

The stable is finally starting to take shape over here! I was not on top of the garden prior to harvest - again. I need to get my timing down still. Veg moms and clones need to by cycled better. I'm a few weeks out of flipping abother round yet - waiting for plants to veg and clones to root.

Mochiesel #9
ChemSour x SSCDH - Lazy Lightning pheno
Chem Sis x Topanga Valley Pure Kush
Lucifer OG x Chem Sis

I notice a slight pattern here. Both Chem Sis lines came from Meltingpot's genetic labors. The Lazy Lightning was selected by a buddy of MeltingPot - Megarawten.

Lucifer OG is an old Karma Genetic line - the base line to Biker Kush. Mochiesel is Karma Genetics and has the Biker Kush line in it's heritage, even if a bit removed.

The other pattern is obvious. I like loud, obnoxious, rank east coast chemdog family line stank. That real funk. It's just what I keep ending up with at the end of the day.

Need to mix in some blueberry though.

@Nickman - the side without the screen being louder is a result of not getting roughed up at wk 5 when it was put on way too late and then again during chop - wrestling things free from a poorly set screen.

I'm debating popping more seeds.

Melty is the man for sure but just for the record Ottoman made the Chem Sis x Topanga Canyon Pure Kush. Glad you found a keeper from that line. There's been some good ones found over the years. I've got about a dozen going now, hoping to find something with more of a Sister type high and a blend of the two flavors. Raunchy lime skunk with a nice head high. PK can be a little sleepy on her own.

Lucy's Sister should be a good one. Been talking to gman about her and if she's even half as good as either parent she should hold her own against most of the stuff out there today.

@rasputin - I should be more specific in saying I would not have gotten those genes if not for. But otherwise - you are correct, which you know! Glad to hear you are still hunting the line. I just love how chem sis pairs up with things. Think the one I'm keeping here is a really good 50/50 pheno - stretches like crazy but stacks very well. Flowers much denser than they'd appear. She more greasy and sticky on her resin - but she's for sure raunchy. You forget that if you smoke her all the time. Get on other stuff and come back to her and you realize just how funky she is - and thus the reason for the reveg. Be foolish to let her go. Easy to over look an amazing plant and then end up chasing something like it the next 5 years!

The initial seed run gave just over 4oz off a single plant, with 7 other plants. Given an 8 plant mono crop - she could potentially hit that 2# goal. Glad to say she is still with me. Huge mistake avoided!

I just tried the Old Dirty Biker for the first time. (Smoking it, not growing it). I love it, and want to try her momma.
Seems like now I want to try the Mo!

Sounds delicious!

Mochiesel is not available for public release currently. It was just tester genetics. I'm glad to have a keeper of it though! Some seriously dank tasting herb. Pretty heady too.

You really can't go wrong with Karma Genetics.

Great job Frank, those are some beautiful keepers you have there!

Are you going to reammend the soil bed as you wait?

Been puffing some where's my bike. She was a total surprise. Easily the best smoking low odor strain I have ever grown. Slight floral and clove? like smells during flower. Really delicious complex smoke that is hard to describe. Reminds me of a free Cole train seed from DNA a few years ago. 4. Girls all together. All very similar until you smoke. 2 are great. 2 are weak. I am really impressed with how much I like smoking it and about half hour after burning one I notice how great I feel every time I smoke one.

I had high hopes. And was honestly a bit let down at harvest due to the overall bland smell of the flowers. Not bad at all. Just nothing loud or funky about it. Possibly not even need much filtration.

Also seems like she should yield fantastic if I ran a room full.

Very impressed.

Yes. Soil bed will be re-amended. Going to keep following the same mix - no changes. I actually need to up pot the current plants vegging.

Lazy Lightning being the exception - she's really a pain to grow. She has the same leaf mutation / chlorosis that the old Chem D cut would show. I'm fairly certain it can be fixed with higher levels of magnesium being applied to her watering cycles.

I'm trying to just get her healthy first. Not exactly an easy task.

She's taking to soil fairly well, but her nutrient issues seem to be somewhat amplified when she is over watered as well. The other thing to try is reducing the intensity or hours of light she is receiving daily.

I want to see if I can get her green.

Hey DF, hope you are well. Glad to see the LL is back and I'm sure she will turn the corner soon.

How do you handle your keepers/moms in organic soil?

Are you constantly taking cuts from cuts or keep mother plants?
If keeping mother plants, how long do they seem to be ok in small pots and what would you do for "feeding them?

All the best.

Bmac1 - Yes. The Lazy coming home means it's almost time to put your efforts and generosity in the spot light! I just have to see if I can't get her to grow right first, before flipping her. She might be one of those that has such special feeding needs she only gets mono-cropped. I hope not though.

Mother plants are on a constant rotation. I keep the best clone - make it a new mother. Part of the reason my cycles are off - trying to have a relationship ends up taking more of my time than I ever thought possible - and the other biggest reason - I just can't seem to get the numbers I need at the right time - because I'm not keeping my mothers healthy enough - because they are in too small of pots. 1/2 gallon. They really need to be in two gallon. Then after each large trimming, have their roots cut off and placed back into a fresh 2 gallons of soil, to grow back out.

SOOO - to really answer the question - above is what I should be doing - but what I am doing currently that is NOT working out at all - and thus the delay between flowering cycles. I should have plants in the flowering room 24 hours after chop. I'm slacking bad here!!! No bull shit.

I'm keeping mom's in half gallons and trying to maximize number of cuts. This means I'm waiting to long and cuts aren't as healthy as they should be - getting more cuts - but lower success rates. This has resulted in me keeping 2-3 moms in 1/2 gallon, and taking up way too much space, to try and actually keep any plants OR run seeds and have back ups before flower.

Now, this is relevant because I'm really only getting 2-3 good cuts and 2-5 iffy cuts when I'm cloning. That is just because of the growth on the mothers. They need to be bigger. That means - I need to either have less keepers - or - not sort two packs of seeds at the same time. I need to keep a better watch of the reality of my space and not get more going than can practically fit - if considering all factors, such as back ups, clones, next round of flower, etc....

My veg space needs to be revamped something terrible. I'm not satisfied with it. While I have this layover in between harvests, some things are going to change.

More space - being the most important one. I'm working on that transition now in 3D modeling - to figure out how to best integrate the modular system I'm working with. Cut a few nails and this whole build comes apart and can be carried out a door. It isn't heavy. It's just awkward.

The goal is to use the current build and just attach more to it...and rearrange it a bit. I want a true drying space as well - and I see no reason why it can't be worked into a sort of lung room area. The biggest issue I want to fix now is cut flowers being exposed to light vs being hung in total darkness. Currently, drying and veg share space. This isn't so much an issue for drying humidity as the veg area is more humid anyway by default because hot air from flower exhausts into the veg area.

THE OTHER REAL ISSUE - I just don't have enough soil in the rotation yet. I need to have about another 20 gallons or fresh/reamended mix on hand, ready to go at any given moment when it's time to transplant.

I'm just not on my game. Terrible to say it. I'm glad IC Cup was delayed. Gives me a chance to grow a proper entry still. I need to get my focus right.

I had some goals when I started growing again. I've accomplished some of those already, especially in regards to the soil mix. This mix is just crushing it right now. I have A LOT more to do yet. I'm not done adding to the value of this thread yet - not by a long shot.

I've been keeping mother plants as best I can and I usually keep them in 1 gal pots. I am usually able to keep them happy for 2-3 months with just water, fish emulsion and epsom salts here and there. Once they hit this time frame, I find it becomes a constant battle of chasing issues and this usually signals that it's time for a root prune. I have had decent results using this method.

I find bonsai in general quite intriguing and like the challenge of trying to keep a plant alive for a long time. I usually take summer off but with the extra time right now, I am going to keep on trucking and I feel that in this routine that your taking the best clone as a new mom approach is best.

Just have to weigh options for the next run.

I’m right there with you Frank on recently not having plants ready in time to be put into flower when the others were finished...!!!...

It should not be like this..
Like you said, I should have plants ready to be flowered the day the others were taken outta the flower room...!!!...

At times it seems I’ve got too many plants going and at other times not enough...!!!...

Shit, at the moment I’ve only got three plants put into flower at 4-20-20... three more going in any day now... and then 19 more that are only a few weeks old in one gallon bags...

I have an entire flower room empty and the other only half filled at the moment... so your not alone...
we both need to step it up ...!!!... :tiphat:...

Peace brother. . .
