I know we talked about this before - but while this harvest is drying - and the cab is empty - it's a perfect time to break out the Light Meter that Gmanwho was so very kind and gracious in letting me borrow so we could get some real world data from these HGLED XB200 panels.

Any pointers or advice on how to use a light meter? I have no idea what I'm doing with it. I'll watch some videos on what's up.

Also, I'd like to announce, I'm 95% certain that Lazy Lightning is going to root this time around. I couldn't be more excited. That makes those F2 ChemSour x SSCDH seeds priceless. ChemSour x SSCDH Ix1 becomes my next seed goal project. From the Ix1, I can make selections again and repopulate. I can also make a Bx1 of the Lazy Lightning clone, which preserves her traits. Fingers crossed. I'm 95% sure!!! Beyond excited.

I also have a Lucifer OG x Chem Sis under the dome, that was made and selected by MeltingPot. Also have Chaco's ESCD x SFV Bx3 selection throwing out some nubs on the stems.

Just a few new things from a great friend who honestly - has been keeping Lazy Lightning safe and healthy for me until I got my shit together. I never even ASKED for this favor - I'm telling you - the ICmag community is simply amazing. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of grower I'd be without this place.

@Got Bud - Bad? I think your rooms are killing it. Everyone has a hiccup and a bad round from time to time - like you said, it's great hash material still. Live. Learn. Grow more cannabis. Just like you did. I wish I knew WHY you are experiencing what you are. No break down of organic material does indeed suggest a lack of bacterial activity. You need a rapid composting bacteria - and luckily - I do have a sticky just for that, in the Stank Bros sub-forum. Give this a try and yes you can water with it during growth cycles as well as resting periods. It should help get some of that older debris taken care of and start to foster some fungal growth to re-establish nutrient transport pathways.

You're not a bad grower by any means. Your other room with the Strawberry Glue is on point. They bounced back beautifully and I'm sure your soil bed will too eventually. Grow on, brother!!! :respect:

@Prodigygrower - Yes. Reviving that line, is indeed epic. It's bucket list territory for me. I'd like to hand Phillthy some 500 beans and just smile and let him know his time wasn't wasted - that his work and legacy selections live on.

Im a big bobby fan, whats lazy lightning pedigree?
Make sure your meters set to indoor. Set a grid pattern, and record as may points as you want. I like doing a couple depths of height from bulb to gauge drop off at different heights too. Its good to add them up to get an average, but its also interesting to see where weak spots and drop offs in par are.

Thanks for the pointers on using the meter.

Lazy Lightning - ie RatDog Haze - selected by MegaRawTen, from (Chem D x Sour D IBL) x (SSH x Chem D IBL) made by Phillthy from two isolated plants from Rez lines. The cut has been around a few years now. She's just a pain to grow so she'll likely never see much popularity. She's a 9wk limey, gassy/woody haze type terp plant - which is really what makes her unique.

It was totally a tongue in cheek comment. I'm not to concerned about it. I am going to use your lactobacillus recipe though.

I've also watered with an ACT that consisted of water, worm pee, Mammoth P, molasses, and 1/2 tsp of Easy Weed in a 5 gallon bucket. Brewed for 36 hours and cut 50% to water everybody. Threw some red wrigglers out of my worm farm into there to help repopulate the bed as well.

I'll get some shit going and then some shit will get going.

Frank, would you use the lactobacillus serum to kick start a new soil mix or would a compost tea be better for that?

you can get as crazy or simple as you want with the meter. set the lights to say 2 ft, 3ft. make sure the meter is set to elec an not sun, should see it on the lcd, press mode to toggle, i believe. pick some test points,4 or 5 should per light should be good, x pattern is what i do.

i will also say there are newer versions that read led differently, the difference, i am uncertain. i have used that meter on mars hydro tsl2000's an some other cheaper vipar spectras. the mars where very bright visually an by the meter readings.

for me one of the more profound learning points was using the meter an learning how man made light can dissipate very quickly just by moving 6inches away or closer. i mean i read about it, but to see it on the meter was game changing. or when you setup 2 lights side by side an the overlap is no where near as strong as u visually believe.

or how bright led can be for seedlings/teens when you really should be at 60% power at said 2ft away.

the other was bulb degradation, all bulbs are not made the same, some degrade very quickly, nanolux comes into mind on that.. nanolux bulbs suck!!! think it was 2 or 3 back to back runs on a nanolux de 1000w the bulb had degraded so much that a philips green power de 1000w still had more par output after 2 years of constant use. which had 9 runs by then.....

that lazy is a jerk, trays an trays of other varieties have rooted an been upotted and are now 10 inches tall. meanwhile there are still lazys unrooted in the cloning dome some 30 days later. u need to thank melty an his lady friend for getting that one back, i was just a foster home in between.

bwell man...

@oKiHa - iIf you are brewing teas, you'd just add the serum into part of the brewing phase when making the tea. So yeah, correct answer, might as well use both if you are using teas. If not brewing teas, the lacto is a great solution that can be utilized without really brewing anything.

@gmanwho - got it brother. Thanks again. Think I'm going to lay a piece of plywood down on the wood edge of the soil bed. That will give me a level, solid surface on which to lay out a grid. Been thinking it over and how to give the best fair results to the lights. :joint:

Hell yea. I think it would be amazing to give phillthy a monster breeder pack. His Legacy still lives strong within this community and to those of us who came up living on padded room updates. I can’t wait to see what you do with this line it’s gonna be special. True family shit frank much respect brother.

@sturgeongeneral - first post top of the page, brother. #1701. :joint:

@Prodigygrower - Thanks man. It'll be really nice to dive back into that gene pool. It's never been explored properly. We'll have to fix that. Making a selection from the gene pool that is easier to maintain but of equal or better quality would be nice! I used to wake up daily and check his thread for an update. Religiously.

I was trimming this Mochiesel - and was legit thinking of the days I spent trimming BKGK with Phillthy - and it was just nice to trim purple nuggets again. I think he'd like this plant - but the first thing he'd do is compare it to his beloved BKGK cut. LOL. I'd not blame him. It's the first thing I did.

To be honest, they all smell very very similar. The flowers are similar but more nuanced than anything - in that you can tell it's a Sour D cross by the bud structure. However, the terps on the 3 I've trained so far have been pretty much entirely notes from the UK Cheese side of the cross. It seems the flower structure of sour with the terp profile of cheese.

The Loud #4 - is a gorgeous plant. Just perfect flowers for a Diesel cross. EXACTLY what you'd want. Just lacks on the terps - depending. She has a very old school note that is definitely a Skunk #1 deal, because it reminds me very much shared by the UK Blues cut - it's also present in the Cheese - but as a subtle background note. This particular London Loud, #4, seems very mono-terpene, having only this subtle background note.

Finally done trimming. Leaves were bucked then plants hung. Sugar leaf was removed and then flowers were bagged. Once they had leveled off moisture between larger flowers and small nugs, they were weighed and transferred to jars for burping, curing and long term storage.

The lady friend mentioned earlier in this thread got her first trimming experience. Of course, I took full advantage of the situation and had her trim naked, of course, for security reasons. I think she is discovering a more fulfilling relationship with cannabis as a result of being around the garden a bit. :joint:

So....close enough to say a bit over 14.5 total this round off 2 x 200w HGLED XB200 panels. I know I could easily push that over 20 in a properly maintained room. I never even posted the 2nd half of the room and it only gave me 2.5 of those. So, over 20 and perhaps even 1.5 is possible with these two lights and the right genetics.

Just wanted to chime in. I've not really given much consideration to the samples I have smoked. I will say the Mochiesel #9 is some of the best tasting herb I've ever smoked. Top 5 list for sure. Can't wait to see how she cures out.

Thanks for all the love - and much respect to Karma Genetics and HydroGrowLED for letting me test their products. I'll give some reviews and thoughts on things eventually.

In the mean time: Lazy Lighting, Mochiesel #9, and Luci x Sis are vegging away right now for cuts. My timing isn't great on transitions from one crop to the next. I really need to be better about that.
