you mean if you had, say, the strain Bubblegum and you let the males pollinate the females? You'd have F2's of Bubblegum.

If I use pollen from a blue dream male and pollinate a northern lights female, will the seeds produce a new strain with two phenotypes? I want to make sure I don't end up producing seeds as if I had just mixed both seeds in a baggie.

You'll end up with an F1 called Blue Light.

The dominant traits from both strains will be more apparent in the F1 generation.

If you F2 the seeds by letting F1's pollinate each other afterwards the
genes will segregate and you'll have all kinds of new plants to select from.

i.e. Northern Dream, Northern Blue Dream, Northern Blue Lights, Blue Light Dream, etc.

You'll have, for the sake of discussion, an F1 hybrid of the two lines.
However, Both parents being hybrids to begin with and crossing together makes what you would produce a multi (poly)hybrid with the potential to have a very diverse genetic pool within the line.
You should expect to see several phenotypes with such a cross.


Most cannabis seed you get these days will be similar. Uniformity can vary in the first generation. The second gen can produce some wild outliers and IMO, is the funnest to work with because of the diversity in the individuals.

Blue dream pollen? Is the blue dream a backcross? Or is this an s-1 project as in you reversed the sex of blue dream santa cruz c/o (clone only) then are using that viable pollen to breed some fya? Just curious coz i have some blue dream bx6/f2s i got in a trade but havent popped anyways best of luck sounds like a nice cross maybe youll find bd phenos that have shorter than ten week flower periods


Edit: my blue dream BC-6/F-2's are made by humboldt seeds and not to be mistakened with s1s by humboldt seed organisation

No I don't. I was using BD as an example.

I see now that it would be a multi year project to get a stable strain. I just don't want to end up with many different plants from the same seed batch otherwise harvest time could be a mess.

Those look like some very interesting crosses would love to see how they turn out. Haze is definitely good to work with if you don't mind running past ten weeks of flower

Just made Island Sweet Skunk x Bangi Haze and Juicy Fruit x Bangi Haze, this spring. I did use three different male BHs, but given how inbred that line is, I doubt that'll make for unmanageable variation in the kids.

I am testing the Sweet Skunk x BH now, indoors under CMH. They're a month old and have some crazy 11 finger leaves already. When I flower, I'll figure out how to post pics.
