in some places/circumstances, all of these are partly true. our homeless are not all starving. do they get 3 squares a day? no. not ALL (some) elderly are going without medicine. lots of mentally ill getting treatment. our troops much better supplied , with higher quality gear, than damn near all. yeah, we fuck our vets regularly, no argument there. yeah, we donate. it is a form of (hopefully) investing where needed to try to prevent problems, which tend to spread. "no man is an island" is the quote. i'd add "neither is a continent or a country. ill winds circle the globe..."douchebag" ...

Not from my perspective.. Rarely does a homeless person know where their next meal comes from. Rarely does any get mental health care when needed.. Rarely does a vet get the benefits needed and ends up waiting months for treatments. Us old people can't afford the cost of medications we take daily.. Many resorts to cutting their meds in half to last longer and to reduce costs. SSI needs to get a big $$$ boost instead of Rep trying to take it away.
